Review: a-ha's new studio album True North is the accompaniment to a new film of the same name that releases in cinemas in Autumn 2022. The original idea for it was for the band - a Norwegian trio made up of Morten Harket, Paul Waaktaar-Savoy and Magne Furuholmen - to record live just 90km above the Arctic Circle and film what they did. The nascent idea was expanded and the band was joined by the Norwegian orchestra known as Arctic Philharmonic. The resulting record is magnificent in size, sound and scope as it shows the band's vision of a collective connection to the environment. It is a love letter from a-ha, from within the Arctic Circle - "a poem from the far north of Norway," say the band.
Review: Acclaimed synthpop trio A-Ha are teasing their latest album, not to mention independent film, 'True North', in what might just be the band's most crowning career achievement thus far. Their first project since 2015's 'Cash In Steel', it's high time they reined in on their success to do some good; the album and project is a relentless paean for the frozen magnetic north, and its ecological importance in connecting us to the environment.
Review: Tina Arena's career-defining album takes listeners on a journey of soaring ballads and infectious pop, remaining one of Australia's most loved records. Anchored by the powerful 'Chains,' the album re-established Arena as a force in contemporary music, earning her five ARIA Awards, including Album of the Year. With six singles and a legacy of ten times Platinum status, it's no surprise the album continues to stand the test of time. Now, 30 years on, Arena's emotional connection to the music remains as strong as ever, with a national tour set to mark this iconic anniversary.
