This release celebrates their legacy across the past four decades with 13 timeless hits on vinyl including gems like 'Forever Young,' 'Big in Japan' and 'Sounds Like a Melody.' Review: Ashe's latest album Willson marks a significant moment in her career, representing a fresh start for the artist as she embraces her independence. This is her first self-released album, following Ashlyn and Rae, which were created under a label. With Willson, she reclaims her autonomy, using the album to reflect on her past while looking toward the future. Opening with 'Please don't fall in love with me', the record shows her characteristic emotional depth, blending angelic harmonies with unexpected turns. Tracks like 'Pull The Plug' introduce darker elements, with eerie production choices such as heart-monitor sounds, highlighting the vulnerability Ashe has embraced in this chapter of her career. Songs like 'Cherry Trees' and 'Running Out Of Time' juxtapose upbeat tempos with melancholic themes, creating a complex listening experience. 'Helter Skelter', a key track, softens the tone while addressing personal struggles, serving as a turning point in the narrative. The album ends on a triumphant note with 'Ashe,' a song that represents her shedding the past and forging a new path. Willson is a powerful declaration of artistic freedom and personal growth, setting the stage for Ashe's next chapter.
Review: Natasha Bedingfield is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her debut album Unwritten with a special vinyl re-release and a London show. The album, which topped the UK charts upon its release in 2004, features hits like 'These Words,' 'Single,' 'Wild Horses,' and 'I Bruise Easily.' The title track, 'Unwritten,' recently experienced a resurgence after being featured in the rom-com film Anyone But You, entering the charts for the first time in 19 years and peaking at Number 12. Bedingfield expressed her joy at the track's resurgence, noting its use in the film and its popularity as an anthem over the years. Originally released as the third single from the album, 'Unwritten' became the theme song for MTV's "The Hills" in 2006 and reached Number Five on the Billboard Hot 100, earning Bedingfield a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. The song's recent viral success on TikTok further underscores its enduring appeal.
Review: Wewantsounds is set to reissue Steve Beresford's highly coveted 1985 album, Dancing the Line, originally released by the French label nato. Drawing inspiration from the fashion of French designer Anne Marie Beretta, the album features contributions from Beresford's Alterations bandmate David Toop, Alan Hacker, and Kazuko Hohki of Frank Chickens, with lyrics by Andrew Brenner. The music blends sophisticated ambient pop, driven by an RX11 drum machine, with synth funk and experimental elements. Tracks like 'Tendance' and 'Comfortable Gestures' have achieved underground classic status over the years. This reissue marks the first time the album has been re-released, with newly remastered audio by Translab in Paris, the original gatefold artwork, and a four-page insert with liner notes by nato's Jean Rochard. Steve Beresford, a prominent figure in British and international music since the early 70s, began his recording career with the Portsmouth Sinfonia and has collaborated with artists such as Derek Bailey, John Zorn, and Thurston Moore. In 1985, introduced to Anne Marie Beretta by Rochard, Beresford and Brenner crafted songs inspired by Beretta's designs. The resulting album, released in France in October 1985, features a blend of ethereal pop, funk, piano ballads and free instrumentals, making it a favourite among DJs and collectors worldwide.
Review: Roan's debut LP, released in 2023, has catapulted her to stardom, poised to top the UK charts and marking her set at Lollapalooza as one of the festival's most-attended. Her meteoric rise, fueled by her support role on Olivia Rodrigo's Guts tour and the success of the single 'Good Luck, Babe!', has been impressive. The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is a showcase of Roan's fearless songwriting, blending intense revelations with irresistibly catchy choruses. To commemorate the album's one-year anniversary, Island Records has announced a limited-edition 2xLP in 'my kink is coral' vinyl. This release celebrates the album's cultural impact, from its iconic 'Pink Pony Club' costumes to the viral 'HOT TO GO!' dance, solidifying Roan's is here to stay.

Review: Studio album number ten finds Britain's foremost purveyors of 21st century stadium rock combining lyrical fragility - the result of a conscious effort by front man Chris Martin to be more emotionally open - with typically lavishly executed (and at times orchestrated) music that doffs a cap to many of their now familiar themes. So while grandiose opener and title track 'Moon Music' (created in collaboration with Jon Hopkins) and the sing-a-long, late 80s indie-influenced stadium synth pop of 'Feelslikeimfallinginlove' reflect the sound and approach that powered them to superstardom, 'We Pray' sees them take a gentle turn towards bass-heavy, grime-leaning dancefloors in the company of Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna and TMI, 'Rainbow' is a gospel-influenced slab of spirituality, Anya Starr collaboration 'Good Feelings' is a disco-pop delight and 'Aeterna' doffs a cap to more rave-inclined dancefloors.
Review: As X&Y approaches its 20th anniversary, it remains a pivotal moment in Coldplay's discography, featuring the band's ability to create music that is both expansive and emotionally resonant. The album is filled with memorable moments, from the infectious guitar hook in 'Talk' to the deeply moving 'Fix You,' which builds to one of Coldplay's most triumphant climaxes. Even the opener, 'Square One,' sets a compelling tone with its ambient textures and catchy melody. The production is crisp and Chris Martin's voice, while understated, complements the evocative piano melodies and lush arrangements. Coldplay's ability to blend accessibility with depth is on full display here, making the album suitable for both background listening and more focused, immersive experiences. With this new reissue, X&Y reaffirms its place as a significant work in Coldplay's career. The music's enduring appeal lies in its ability to evoke emotion through simplicity, proving that sometimes, straightforward and heartfelt can be just as impactful as innovation.
Review: Fleur is a firm favourite with fans and now teases the new upcoming album with a new 7" single that is going to resonate well with fans of acts like The Kinks, Holly Golightly and The Remains. The A-side, 'Nous Continuerons a Marcher Ensemble' kicks off with a sharp guitar riff and builds into a catchy, powerful chorus. The B-side, an exclusive to this 7", is 'Tu M'as Mise a Genoux' a fast-paced punk track driven by fuzz bass. Both of them are superb retro indie-pop bangers and have been penned by Mark ten Hoor of The Kryng, and he also recorded the backing tracks for this release.
Review: Foster The People return with their highly anticipated new album, Paradise State of Mind, marking their first release in three years. Produced by frontman Mark Foster alongside bandmate Isom Innis, with additional contributions from Paul Epworth, Jack PeNate, Chrome Sparks, and Asa Taccone, the album was crafted in studios across London and Los Angeles, including the iconic Studio Three at East West Studios, where The Beach Boys recorded Pet Sounds. Paradise State of Mind features standout tracks like 'Chasing Low Vibrations,' 'Take Me Back,' and the infectious lead single 'Lost In Space,' blending elements of psychedelia, space-age sounds, 80s anthems and dramatic disco strings. The track's official music video, directed by award-winning filmmaker Rupert Holler, has already made waves online.
Review: Hawaiian enka singer Torao Hikariyama is renowned in his circles for winning a foreign talent singing competition on TV. He is utterly beloved in his home country, and rightly so, for his performances at Bon dance festivals. He has several hits to his name and now one of them, the wonderful 'Torao no Tairyo Sen' has been daringly remixed and dubbed by Tengaku Dub. This brilliant release now makes its long-awaited debut on double-sided 7" and is sure to get plenty of heavy plays.
