Review: Batu's Timedance is about as consistently fresh and forward-thinking as electronic labels get right now. Bristol's Daisy Moon is next up to carry the baton and is fresh off a standout house cut on Peach Discs in June. Here she opens with the precise drum rhythms and glitchy percussion of 'Eclipse' while 'Shadow Of Silhouettes' is a shimming, shape shifting arrangement with daubs of synth, frenzied lines, chopped-up vocals and plenty more all vying for your attention. Review: London-based label Dancing With Strangers returns from a brief hiatus with its third vinyl offering and this one goes from boss man Oliver Moon. In his third solo release, Moon presents two impressive tracks that both exemplify his raw production style and maintain a consistent groove while blending deep, dreamy sounds with sophisticated percussion. Co-founder Agile Kind takes on remix duties for the dubby and heady 'Downstream' and enhances the lead bassline with lush pads and crisp drum programming. Completing the EP, the don that is Carl Finlow delivers a stellar electro remix of 'Drifting' and layers in plenty of cinematic synths and acid stabs.

Review: R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings has tapped up Dresden's MPEG for a fierce four-track EP full of deep tech house nostalgia. 'Pollen' is the opener and one that sinks you into some nice and frayed analogue production aesthetics with dusty drums quickening your step beneath pensive pads. 'Bad Intel' is a more turbocharged cut that is alive with fresh synth energy and machine soul and 'Pluto Dogs' then lays down a nice percussive grove with a surging bassline. Last but not least is 'Dots' which completes a stylish EP with another irresistible groove packed with subtle detail.

Review: Mr G is indeed a real-life G. The long-time underground servant is famous for crafting impossibly hypnotic house tracks that are deep, smoky and dusty. He mostly does so on his own label but also takes trips to some of the finest other imprints out there, and NDATL sure is one of those. He once again voyages into the depths here with opener 'One4Cath' setting a heady tone from the off as the razor-sharp hi-hats cut up the muted, mirky low ends. 'Twist' brings some euphoric vocal stabs that inject raw soul to the menacing grooves and 'We All Feel Something' brings some signature toms and congas to the mix as sultry vodkas this time bringing the human element. 'Dub In The System' is a final heads down, back room marcher for those who like it stripped back and raw.

Review: Man of many aliases MS (real name Matthias Schildger) has released on many labels since making his vinyl debut in 2011, with Rawax and its Housewax offshoot being his most regular outlets. Here he returns to the latter following last year's digital-only Slow Housing EP with another rock-solid four-tracker. The German producer begins with the hybrid deep house/tech-house crunch of 'Dancing By The River' - all Korg-M1 organ stabs, swinging beats and glitchy electronics - before opting for a deeper, dreamier and rhythmically off-kilter vibe on 'Let's Float'. Over on side two, 'Mainrecorder' sounds like a tribute to interlaactic-sounding late 90s tech-house, while 'OF Blues' is ultra-deep, warm, bass-heavy and undeniably attractive.

Review: Micro Orbit is back with another trip around the cosmos almost exactly a year since they first launched into space with the first in their Pioneer Series. That was backed up with their Origins Series in January this year but it is to the Pioneers we return here with four finely crafted minimal and tech house cuts. Mtps's 'Moonrise' is a gritty, punchy opener with a stripped back sense of menace. Michaelis's 'Wax Off' is the sort of silky sound to spin you out at 5am and Mihai Pol's offers up deliciously deep and heady loops on his 'Zelot'. Fedo closes things down with the floating and suspensory dubbed out tech house delicacies of 'Anantkar Kaur.'

Review: Billed as an elusive producer now primarily offering his services to the deep house label Running Back, Mute here reissues and repackages the second in his 'Direct Cuts' EP series, 'Redux'. First released in 2006, the 'Redux' versions clarify a fresh set of takes on older material, hereby the artist Gerd Janson. Continuing to flash, tease and periodise four of many possible glimpses of both Mute and Janson's crafts, this new edition of the first EP, released almost twenty years later, hears a right smattering of hypnotic grooves and tricky temperaments. Our fave has to be the version of 'Vibes', bringing electric movements and nighttime prowls to an already all-analog flavour palette.

Review: First released by Snuff Trax in 2015, but potentially recorded much earlier, 'U Won't C Me' is one of Mystic Bill's most potent cuts - an analogue-rich hybrid Chicago deep house/acid house cut which sounds like Larry Heard jamming with Adonis circa 'No Way Back'. This Nu Groove reissue naturally features the long-serving producer's original mix, the original bonus track 'Like a Dream In The Night' (a moody, low-slung chunk of warehouse-ready, late 80s style Chicago deep house) and two reworks of the title track. Stefan Bratz ups the acid house factor, reaching for driving drums and mind-mangling TB-303 bass, while Jake Savage's 'Acid Re-Rub' is a jacking, sweat-soaked affair smothered in red-raw acid lines, cut-up spoken word snippets and a ghostly melodic motif.

Review: Konfus Records continues its impressive early work with a fourth vinyl edition that sees them welcoming Matthias Schildger to the family. Together with Rupert Hartick, he cooks up the powerful Dudes EP which offers a nice blend of tracks that explore different moods and grooves. Schildger appears under two of his well-known aliases - MS and CNTRL - first with the bubbly and deep minimal loops of 'Lose Control' and then with the airy, subtly uplifting and high-speed smoothness of the dubby 'Tranceparents'. For his part, Hartick offers two nice and punchy kicks for when the floor needs a jolt.

Sshadess, The Coomers, Girlcop and Emscho Shoshe each contribute original cuts ranging from the janky to the smooth, with choice bits like 'Carbonara' remaining unpretentious and not-too-produced, yet also peppery on the glitches. Shoshe's 'Give Up' lends an experiment to vocal booty house too, adding an extra creep factor to the genre with freq-scooping phasers on the sample.

Manata has become a prominent name in Portugal's underground scene and so has naturally also expanded out to now perform extensively across Europe. His debut LP features nine tracks with each telling a unique story. The title track transports you to the nostalgic roots of electronic music with its catchy old-school synths and captivating vocals. Other standouts include the deep and pulsating electronic drums of 'Unforgettable Bonanza', outlier acid tech of 'Fastest Plane On Earth' and serene dub class of 'Flamingo Nights.' A quality album, for sure.

His name on a record sleeve signals music that's both forward-thinking and rooted in the past, deftly balancing the demands of the dancefloor and more reflective listening. The Floor Is Lava showcases Mayer's talent for threading together genres and eras while keeping a distinct sense of purpose. Whether it's designed for late-night clubs or a contemplative listen at home, Mayer's sound continues to evolve, pushing boundaries while remaining firmly anchored in his established style. As always, his knack for combining the exploratory with the functional shines through, and this latest offering is no exception.
