Eversines & RDS - "Milky Mouse" (5:53)
DJ Venetta & ZDBT - "Tie Me Up" (5:50)
Byron Yeates & Brandi - "Activate" (6:40)
Review: Planet Euphorique is back in business for a fourth volume in the on going Tiny planet series. It is an always interesting various artists collection that offers a widescreen take on tech house and minimal. Emkay keeps it deep, bubbly, pumping on the opener 'Dennis' then things get more wonky and tripped out with Eversines & RDS's 'Milky Mouse.' On the flip side is ZDBT & DJ Vendetta's electro-tech fusion 'Tie Me Up' with its sleazy vocals and hyper speed rhythms and Byron Yeates & Brandi then closes out with another swaggering ghetto vibe on the fresh sounding 'Activate.'

Fierce/Dom - "Resonance" (5:22)
Fierce/Zero T - "Turncoat" (5:33)
Review: Quarantine continue to remind us why their comeback a few years ago was much needed: "Resonance" (a hook-up with Dom & Roland) is all about the drum loop. Infectious to the point of dangerous, the loop twists and turns with its own groove before you even get to any other uncompromising elements. Flip for "Turncoat". Yet another sterling saddle-up with Zero T (another man whose comeback has been nutritious for drum & bass), this one is all about the dirt munching bassline. Powerful.

See Through
Gaslight
Review: Following last year's "Back / Sunshine", Quarantine bossman Fierce teams up with Zero T for another devious double header. "See Through" is a dark roller with two worm-like basslines the writhe and lash at each other beneath an array of unnerving FX and occasional percussive rolls. "Gaslight" is straight up mid 90s business. So dirty, the skid marks of hardcore can still be seen through the murky, dense drums; it will melt the iciest of junglist's hearts.

Always Something

Always Something (5:15)
Axis (5:28)
Review: Serious business: Zero T and Fierce have been steadily delivering killer cuts this year that don't just tap into the late 90s neuro roots but rather dig them up and wire them directly into our frontal cortexes. Both "Always Something " and "Axis" really hit hard with that simple-but-effective construction and dark energy; the former with its 10 million volt electrified bassline, the latter for its infectious percussion elements. Mixed down for the modern era, there's no dewy eyed nostalgia - just reminders and references and rugged funk.

Tenchu & Zool - "Dreamcatcher" (6:04)
Tomkin - "No Time, No Beats" (6:14)
Review: Trickdisc, the Austrian drum & bass label founded by Tomkin, welcomes back the boss in collaboration with fellow Austrian Tenchu and Kool for a duo of hard hitting tunes. Tenchu & Zool go first on 'Dreamcatcher,' a mad flurry of computerised melodies, saw tooth bass and slapping hits that is pure explosive dance floor dynamite. It's the sort of track that will lead to ultimate alases of pent up angst and tension once we can all get back in clubs. Flip it over and Tomkin's 'No Time, No Beats' is just as thrilling and direct with its militant snares and dark, all-consuming bass.

Tommy The Cat - "Way Back When" (2:52)
Duburban & Jahganaut - "Another" (5:32)
Zoomie - "Time Travelling At The Speed Of Life" (3:23)
Review: Dutch label Cat in the Bag builds on early momentum with a fourth EP, this time featuring label regards as well las newcomers. The main man Tommy The Cat takes care of the a-side with a brace of brilliant throwback jungle cuts. 'Purple Sky' pairs deep basslines and kinetic breakbeats with thoughtful pads and smeared cosmic ambiance that makes for something perfectly heady yet hard-hitting. 'Way Back When' is a brief but brilliant hip hop joint that you will want to last way longer than it does. Duburban & Jahganaut then bring the menace with a darting, ducking and diving d&b bomb steeped in classicism and newcomer Zoomie takes you into a world of deep hip hop beats with 'Time Travelling At The Speed Of Life.'

Review: Marcus Visionary makes another appearance on Liondub International. "Blackboard" is old school jungle at its finest: super quick percussion, rolling beats and layers of sub bass that are only pierced by old school vocals. Goldstar & Zero G chip in with some looptastic bouncing bass on "Skin Out".

Cyantific and Wikinson add some bass that will tear through the fabric of existence, whilst rising producer Redlight drops a steel drum halfstep sub oddysey.

Beijing (feat Strategy) (5:21)
Just Before Dawn (feat G Force) (6:01)
Doenca Tropical (4:29)
In The Morning (6:04)
Review: As one of the instigators of the UK 2-Step sound that paved the way for the seminal movements in Dubstep and Grime, Zed Bias, aka Maddslinky, is a true pioneer and stands as one the Godfathers of the UK Bass scene. With a prolific career spanning more than two decades, we're honoured to welcome him into the Unchained family with his debut release on the label.

His powerful 4-track EP echoes both cutting edge modern electronic as well as the nostalgia of UK dance history. All tracks wander into upper BPM territory and sonically span very wide ground; whether this be "Beijing", a track sure to carve itself a place in classic anthem history; or "DoenCa Tropical", a tune which draws new broken-beat boundaries around the 160bpm ethos.

Two tracks feature collaborations with Strategy and Bugz In the Attic's G Force - both music defining legends in their own right.

Spanning both the Drum'N'Bass universe and thought-provoking left-field bass, we hope this fresh release has you covered from club to couch.

Thirty Four (5:37)
Review: What a comeback year it's been for Zero T. Kicking off 2015 with a hefty Metalheadz 12" it's been a consistent slew of seismic rollers ever since, including his second album Golden Section on Dispatch. Now jumping aboard the good ship Fokuz, he delivers another double-sided story; "Dice Game", all waspy and electrified, would sit well against a Break production while "Thirty Four" is a much more soulful, somnambulant piece that would sit well against a Makoto joint. Both are delicious and make you wish Zero T didn't disappear for so long in the first place.

Review: Finally... The vinyl has landed! Released way back in the summer digitally, Lenzman's The North Quarter are now able to drop the 12" of Zero T's dark and sleazy 'Off Broadway' EP. Focusing on those tense and spacious jazzy samples that characterised drum & bass in the mid-90s (think Peshay, think Photek), tracks like 'Drama', 'Fortune Green' and 'Off Broadway' hit with that timeless, gritty, burnt soul vibe while cuts like 'This Condition' and KILLSWSH's remix of 'She Moves' flex with more of a contemporary vibe. All of them rock and sound so much better for being on wax.

The Underground (4:31)
First & Last (with Molecular) (4:08)
Only If You Want To (with DLR) (4:54)
Jazz Tone VIP (feat Steo & [KSR]) (4:07)
Review: The Underground EP marks Zero T's debut project on DLR's Sofa Sound Bristol. It finds the well respected jungle head and drum & bass don - who is fresh off his fourth album back in February on The North Quarter - in devastating form. The title cut is a nice and icy, stripped back and soulful cut steeped in future jazz, and 'First & Last' (with Molecular) is a tight, funky number with blasts of booming bass and fizzing synth tails. 'Only If You Want To" (with DLR)' then brings a soul vocal into the picture over slinky drums breaks while 'Jazz Tone VIP' (feat Steo & [KSR]) is another widescreen and atmospheric cut with an aching vocal placed well in the mix.

Review: The Metalheadz train shows no signs of slowing down despite being well into its third decade. This tasty four tracker comes from the combined creative minds of Zero T and Beta 2 and they come through in style with a modern-day reproduction of the vintage Metalheadz sound we all know and love. Tough drums, sprinkled with plenty of future soul and devastating bass, "Misdemeanour" in particular is prickly yet emotional stuff while "In My Head" brings a dose of joyful soul and "Dead Cert" ends on a more angsty tip.

Zero T & Script - "Guessing Games" (Bailey remix)
Scar - "Spectre"
Review: Originally released in 2010 on Zero T's now-defunct Footprints label, "Guessing Games" enjoys an update from an ambassador who really should be producing more than he does in Bailey. Adding a chubbier, full-bodied edge to the spiked out bass riff and more beef to the drums, it's a fine lesson in contemporisation. Meanwhile on B Survival and Script's SCAR project continues to develop its impressive CV with another ice-cold adventure into D&B's most timeless eeriest pastures. All alien noises and heavily layered bass textures, it's as nasty as it is understated. Clever.

Can't Hide EP

Can't Hide (5:16)
Too Close To See (Monty remix) (5:33)
Make Time (4:35)
Review: Hot on the heels of Phil:osophy's latest treasure trove comes another bounty of bliss from Artificial Intelligence's Integral. This time with old friends Zero T and longstanding vocalist Steo. "Can't Hide" is pure soul heaven; delicate layers of Steo's harmonies arranged softly over a spacious beat and lilting pianos, it's T and Steo at their most evocative and feel-heavy. "Make Time" kicks with more urgency as techno-like synths stab hypnotically, balanced by Steo's falsettos and gently rising instrumentation. Elsewhere the unstoppable Monty gives their evergreen 2016 soul-out "Too Close To See" a bittersweet twist. There's no hiding from this one.

Stop/Start (4:14)
Review: Jungle's revival remains to be of interest to fans old and new. And it is those sorts of sounds which colour this new one from Zero T and Steo, which is also well versed in silky and soulful liquid d&b styles. Particularly that is the case on opener 'Go' (feat Myth) which is a real heart wrenched with wide screen chords and a lovely heart tugging vocal. Then comes 'Can't Hide' (Visages remix) which is cavernous and a little darker before closer 'Stop/Start' has an old school feel with wooden drums and tightly coiled breaks loops.

Review: Those Integral fans out there who indulged in last months 12" sampler for the Integral Select compilation will be like a kid let loose in a sweet shop at the sight of this vinyl edition, which packs four highlights across two slabs as well as gripping the full CD version. Having recently ended a label hiatus, Integral Select should find Artificial Intelligence pair Glenn Herweijer and Zula Warner reclaiming their place amongst D&B label royalty, effectively demonstrating how broad a hold they have on the genre as a style. The two plates feature three fresh remixes of classics from the Integral archives, with Alix Perez taking on Zero T's legendary "Refusal", and the heat continues with a Calibre tweak of Technicolour, Komatic and LSB's collab "Rotary Motion". Lenzman & Redeyes' 2009 liquid jazz anthem "Thieves In The Night" is reworked by Technimatic on the second plate and shares space with Scar's impressive Integral debut "Something From Nothing", a nasty concoction of heavy breaks and dirty funk basslines.

Show Me (Sigma remix)
Show Me (Calibre remix)
Review: Many Zinc fans would love to see him back on a drum & bass tip. And while he's definitely shown more interest in the genre than he has for many years, he's still resolutely house proud... And smashing it, too, as proved by the unavoidable hammerations of "Show Me" throughout the summer. These D&B rubs, however, are a great consolation as Sigma and Calibre both deliver serious goods. The number-one smashing former exploit every nuance of the Zinc's bubbly bass, applying a breezy rolling groove to the blend for good measure. Calibre, meanwhile, strips the vibe back to include more space and soul within the groove. Classic Zinc, classic Calibre, classic Sigma. All parties stand up here.

Review: Zomby is as elusive as he is brilliant as he is outspoken. For that reason he has become a firm favourite in the UK underground scene. This EP is actually a collection of some of his most cherished but long lost sounds and features sought after jams 'She Loves Me', 'She Loves Me Not' and 'Soundbwoy R.I.P.' They are all well designed, wall-rattling and brain twisting rave bangers with militant breakbeats, hoover sounds, rude-boy vocal stabs and jungle rhythms. They perfectly embody the whole history of the UK hardcore continuum and are sure to still sound as good years from now.

Review: Zero T's 4th album is a conceptual Drum n Bass marriage with legendary high-tech pianist ONJ, who has been on the cutting edge of music equipment for over 20 years. The 2 are returning once again for another release on The North Quarter, expanding the pair's 2 track EP 'Everyday Struggles' into a full-length project. Zero T pulls once again from Jazz influences, paired with his bright and expansive breakbeats. The amen breaks on tracks like 'Twenty Three' and 'Some Type of Way' meld with the jazz piano and saxophone riffs perfectly, broken up by lo-fi interludes, even a lounge piano portion on side D with 'Expendable'. Kilburn is an authentically British union of two polar opposite genres, and yet it just works so well. It's got to be heard to be believed.
