Culture Shock - "Piano Dark" (original dub) (5:59)
Mind Vortex - "Future Fold" (4:56)
June Miller - "Robots & Romans" (audio remix) (5:53)
Kryptic Minds - "The Truth" (Insideinfo remix) (5:54)
Rene Lavice - "The Calling VIP" (4:53)
Review: Andy C's mega-label Ram celebrates the big 200 in style: triple vinyl in trifold sleeve with etched sixth side, each of the five cuts represent Ram's dark, start extremes. The touching depths of Culture Shock's long-awaited "Piano Dark", the Noisia-level antics of Audio on his June Miller, InsideInfo's deep throat bass on "The Truth" and the add bass fluctuations on Rene's VIP. 200 singles deep and still killing it, Ram have put together a serious package here.

This Summer (5:36)
Earned It ($$$) (6:22)
Review: Illicit version business... "This Summer" takes Maroon 5 to lush, rolling pastures they never knew existed. Buckets of reverb on the vocals, velvet synths and slappy two-steps, it works unbelievably well. "Earned It" takes The Weeknd to exciting new places, too. Giving him a little gusto and more of an upbeat air thanks to the precision strings, pianos and bubbly sub, version work like this is way beyond bootleg material.

Sesi Mirage (6:47)
Nairah (6:04)
Review: The legendary breaksmith Paradox does the split personality thing once again as he teams up with his inner deep head Alaska for two timeless slappers on Warm Comms. The result, as standard, is beautiful and deservedly longer than most current D&B cuts: "Sesi Mirage" is straight out of the Goodlooking playbook, all cosmic washes and a big yearning vocal sample over sweet skippy, constantly evolving breaks. "Nairah" is a touch more direct as our focus is squared on the drumwork before a subtle stab and lilting synths gradually come to fore. Proof, once again, that Paradox remains one of the most consistent and prolific producers out there.

Soundboy A Qwops (5:15)
The Garden Of Boodah (4:47)
Alternative Intellect (6:23)
Absent Awareness (5:03)
Review: Stupendously prolific cosmic junglist Kid Lib gets lively on the (relatively) recently relaunched Fresh 86. "Soundboy A Qwops" is all about the frenetic drum edits that twist and turn without ever repeating themselves while "The Garden Of Boodah" is a much more atmospheric star-gazing affair as the pads lie over the drums like a low fog. "Alternative Intellect" takes us more towards the Paradox style of drum funk as layers on layers of breaks are lightly laid down. Finally "Absent Awareness" takes us deep into Lib's inner jazz psyche, all trumpets, tripped out percussion and far-away trumpets. Woozy.

Will Miles - "No Love" (5:17)
Velocity - "Jelly Break" (MMXV remix) (5:25)
Review: Liquid Drops' LD Music sublabel barges into the year with a distinct international punch. Sporadic-but-always-on-point US producer Miles lays down a stripped back groove where the subs and pitched breaks roll beyond the horizon before a big soul vocal sample comes in from nowhere and knocks you sideways. Flip for a trip to Japan as the deck-defying veteran Velocity updates his piano-looping slapper from 2013, adding even more weight and energy to an already great track.

Dark Rider (Scar remix) (6:23)
Beachorifta VIP (feat Cleveland Watkiss) (4:07)
Review: FACT: Being knighted with an MBE doesn't affect your gully abilities. Case in point: Goldie's return to his original Rufige Kru guise. First up, SCAR shake up his 1992 classic "Dark Rider". Maintaining the deep bass plunges, twisted paranoid feels and staccato detuned riff while polishing the production and rebuilding the drums, it's a near-on perfect example of remix craft. Then comes the VIP: 2000's "Beachdrifta" gets the future treatment. All the beauty and bliss of the intro are present but now come with added raw soul as Cleveland Watkiss adds his haunted cries and that drop gets a turbo charged sheen into pure back-hunched drama. Incredible.

Random Movement - "I Stayed Around" (Lenzman remix) (5:40)
Facing Jinx - "Meet You There" (feat PET) (6:47)
Review: Fokuz fire off another deep groove doublet: Lenzman applies his spacey, cosmic sheen to Random Movement's 2015 summer bluster cut a plunging drone feel to the bass and unrelenting, rolling drums. Facing Jinx maintains the deep space feel of the 12" with "Meet You There" as lilting pads and a roomy bassline weave and bob amid a tightrope two-step. Classy.

Digital - "Zion" (5:57)
Digital, YT & Solo Banton - "Bad Bwoy Talk" (3:21)
Review: The mighty Digital introduces a brand new Function off-shoot Function Dubz with a focus on ragga/vocal based jungle. Naturally, it's a hefty launch release: "Zion" is straight out of 1993, all head-twisted amens, crazy-sharp edits and evocative dub vocals. "Bad Bwoy Talk" brings us back to the future on a sleazy bubbly halftime roll and full badman chats from YT and Solo Banton. A full jungle history lesson in two tunes; few artists do it like Digital.

Rock 'N' Roll (4:41)
Wildlife (4:22)
Review: Powerhouse Ram collab business as Anglo-Dutch duo June Miller play a mean head-butting game with Russian trio Teddy Killerz. "Rock 'N' Roll" has one of the best intros Ram have released in a while before dropping into a sweaty, moshy, air-guitar-snapping halftime groove. "Wildlife", meanwhile, is a sharp, steppy jump-up jam with staccato bass and a powerfully funky breakdown with big percussion and cinematic horns. A near-perfect example of collaboration science.

DLR & Nymfo - "Affliction" (6:39)
Nymfo & Total Science - "Forward Motion" (4:54)
Nymfo - "Marching Machines" (4:08)
Review: It's been almost two years since we last saw a Dispatch disc from Dutch damager Nymfo. In that time he's hammered hard across Metalheadz, Commercial Suicide, Fokuz and Renegade Hardware with his trademark twistedness keeping us on our toes from release to release. And our toes aren't set to rest any time soon... "Marching Machines" lives up to its name with a deep droning bass and a really cool Nicholson sample. It's backed by two major collaborations: with DLR he goes all heads-down, gritty and mildly tribal on "Affliction" while with Total Science he goes all bouncy and funky with "Forward Motion".

Gardna - "See The Vibe" (feat Tiffani Juno - Ed Solo remix) (5:14)
Perfect Giddimani - "Smoked A Spliff" (Jamie Bostron remix) (4:30)
Review: Jungle Cakes aren't letting up right now; spitting out the skankers like tobacco chewers, every release has been a rolling reggae-fused bomb lately. These are no exception; Tiffani Juno's vocal (which has recently sported releases on Digital Soundboy and Kitsune) hit the spot perfectly over Solo's signature blunderbuss bass. Flip for Bostron's horn-heavy twist of Giddimani's weed/Katy Perry homage. Kissable.

Vertigo (4:52)
The Ruff Life (4:54)
Review: The wait is over: Metalheadz have been teasing us with the prospect of a Mikal debut since at least 2012. Naturally the Swedish skirmish starter hasn't disappointed. 16 tracks of grazingly fresh designs we range from the sci-fi laser ballad opener "Patterns" by way of dagger-sharp dark tech ("Ruff Life"), elastic space drones ("Segunda") and even slinky, sassy funky drummer work on his ode to the master ("JB's Groove"). Complete with cameos from Break, Xtrah and Buraka Som Sistema's RIOT and Chimpo, this is the type of debut album you'd take home to meet the folks... If your folks understand the virtues of precision engineered drum & bass, that is.

Time Will Tell (feat Structured & Amanda Seal) (6:11)
Demolition (feat Slippy Skills) (6:26)
Review: Two more superb tracks from DBR UK's widely received debut album Rough Edges. "Time Will Tell" is a fantastic balance of jazz and future with its tightly sprung twostep that swings across the mix unhurried before Amanda Seal's velvet vocals and big minor chords change the dynamic entirely. "Demolition" shows DBR UK's darker, grimier underbelly with its rolling drums subtle bass stretches and precision articulation from Slippy Skills.

Obscurity (5:35)
Godspeed (5:25)
Review: The increasingly unavoidable Methlab collective establish another brand new label: BNKR is inspired by the a/v conceptual events Methlab have held around the world where the emphasis is squared on the immersive aspect of tech D&B. Launching with Mindtech affiliate Allied, you could get much more immersive if you tried: "Obscurity" is an ice-cold sheet metal stepper where hurricane bass offers warning shots but remains restrained throughout. On the B "Godspeed" changes the drum technique a much sharper punctuation while mean subs wheeze beneath the rhythm and a well-oiled alien bassline. A very impressive launch release.

Untitled Pig Dog (5:46)
All The Fuckin' As (Scrase remix) (7:20)
Review: With previous on Rephlex and Subtle Audio, Dgohn's experimental, creative take on D&B sits somewhere between the jungle conventions of Paradox and the more extreme editry of Squarepusher. "All The Fucking As" jumps and jitters with some incredible drum edits while maintaining a tight floor-friendly roll while "Untitled Pig Dog" takes us deeper into the edit as the amen chops get wilder and wilder and the lilting, dreamy clips of pads and synths add a sense of cosmicity to the chaos. Remix-wise Scrase stretches out the drums with a wry sense of twisted humour. A* material.

Connector (3:48)
Mothership Riddim (feat Mark Force) (4:34)
Adventures In Eden (7:52)
Review: Cosmic Bridge builder Om Unit continues to demonstrate near-Calibre levels of proliferation and precision. Nine months and two singles have passed since his first "Torchlight" EP and he returns with more deliciously unclassifiable slo-mo, halftime heaviness. If you're instantly won over by the deep throaty gurgle in the slurring bass on "Connector", then you'll definitely be elevated by the deep dream twinkles and arpeggios of "Adventures In Eden". If you're not shaken and stirred by the rim-shot breakage of "Mothership Riddim" then you'll definitely be buried deep in tubular bass bliss of "Transformation" or, indeed, tripped out by the growling bass and cavernous space of "Angry Buzz". Yet another immaculate creation that defies the standard pigeonholing.

Shujinko MVP (5:12)
Galatea (5:30)
Review: US firebrand Homemade Weapons delivers more lean D&B sounds on his own brand new label, Weaponry. "Mind Control" is as stark as it gets with cavernous dynamics pacing out the beats around a fluctuating croaky bassline. "Rubicon" ups the danger factor with a dense snare and thunderous drum flurries. "Shujinko MVP" adds icy pads and rolling pads to the mix in a way that's not dissimilar to Need For Mirrors before we close "Galatea" a gracefully wonky slice of minimalism where drama is peaked by a lone riser. Intense.

170 Untitled (6:29)
Ghetto Chemistry (feat Lystone) (4:50)
Just A Moment (5:49)
Review: Following his debut on CIA in autumn 2015, US artist Adred continues to show the breadth of sonic span and abilities on the equally respected Soul:R on their so-far-spotless "Fourfit" series. Each cut showing balancing restraint and weight with a strong emphasis on jazzy textures and tones, we're sideswiped by Manos's vocals and the strong "Oblique" feels of "Around The Sun", we're soothed with equal measures of nostalgia and synthetic soul on the Goodlookingesque "170 Untitled" before getting deep, dark and minimal on "Ghetto Chemistry" where Lystone adds a unique US hip-hop feel. Finally we walk the plank into Adred's deepest, oceanic cut to date where the waves are high, voluptuous and all consuming. Stunning.

Turbine (3:29)
Fonk (3:56)
Review: Skope dons his Malux guise for the first time and it's beyond impressive. Usually found lurking around the glitchier territories, Malux is a chance for the UK artist to show his broader, grittier neuro side with two slabs of Bad Taste tactics: "Turbine" is a real hurricane of a track that scrapes up and down with dynamic hype. "Fonk" is more heads-down neuro slappery; precision steps, a toxic bassline and dense psy-line on the drop, shrouded in a classic detuned midrange reece. Devilish.

Detail & Tiiu - "Delusion" (Eastcolors remix) (5:46)
Review: One of the UK's leading neuro/tech hubs Addictive Behaviour continue to celebrate the rich talent oceans of east Europe with another triple threat lead, largely, by Russian whizkid Eastcolors. "Time" squares our focus on the squidgy, freeform bassline that stretches like elastic, allowing space for the breaks to double up at all the right moments. "Bounce" has more drama per ounce thanks to its droning bass, Paradox-level drum work and detuned synth stabs. Finally Detail & Tiiu take the reins for "Delusion". Pad-heavy, shaker-soaked, breezy, emotional and sprung with a classic late 90s Trilogy style bassline; instant neck-hair raiser.

All crews involved rep the timeline with authority: Mantra (last spotted on Law's Repertoire) shows us that the power of life is actually coded deep in the twisted amen edit, forefathers FBD Project get all cosmic and eastern, Dispatch affiliate Verb takes deeper into the classical neurofunk territory with classic splashes of jungle bass textures while Antidote concludes the EP with a most savage darkcore roller. Sycophant (4:02)
Review: Kicking back into his original drum & bass roots like you or I might slip into our favourite old trainers, Prolix lets rip with an absolute slapper of a session and hits the ground running. "Nature Of Reality2 is a really roughy, scratchy tear-up that scatters and up and down the mix with little care for the sterile clarity many in the neuro game are chasing. "Sycophant" dips even deeper into the fugliness with a really ragged, high-paced energy. Mosh-worthy.

Review: London label Goldman Records comes forth with their first 12" of 2016 and a fourth round of beat science from G.H.O.S.T. We've been seriously impressed with this unknown production unit's contributions to the Goldman cause thus far, and these two tracks only add to this glowering reputation. Lead cut "Blood Brother" is a broody roller, pairing earthy bass with smartly coiled drums and roots vocal samples resulting in an overall sensation of eeriness. Complementing this, "Brut" showcases the break-moulding talents of G.H.O.S.T., laying them hard over an ethereal backdrop blessed with warm bass and yet more vocal samples suspended in space. Comes as a limited 12" in silk screened sleeve replete with MP3 download code featuring bonus track "Structure"!

Following impeccable releases from Release, Survey and Verb comes this alarming slab of double-A darkness: Gremlinz and Adrian Go create a scarring reece and press it down over a pneumatic halftime arrangement while Quartz heads down to his local steel foundry and paints a sonic picture of molten metals and immense crushing machinery. Powerful.
