Synthesisers – or synths – are the fundamental building blocks of most electronic music. Whether analogue or digital, a hardware synth is any instrument which generates sound using electronic circuits. Most of the great synths are keyboards, but there are a lot more choices, including desktop modules and modular systems.
Our range includes old-school analogue synthesisers and reissues of vintage classics, plus the latest digital workstations, patchable semi-modular instruments and portable models suitable for live performance or making music on the go.
With such a wide variety of synths on offer, there’s something to suit everyone, from budget options for beginners through to premium models for pro studios. Brands like Arturia, Korg and Roland offer excellent value for money, while the likes of Moog and Waldorf offer some of the best high-end options for those who want something a little more advanced.

A true physical modelling synthesiser developed in close collaboration with Dutch company 112.dB.
Notes: No oscillators, 8 voice polyphony.
The Steampipe is a true physical modelling synthesizer developed in close collaboration with Dutch company 112.dB.
The Steampipe has no conventional oscillators. Instead, it mimics the way sound is created in wind instruments and it is fine-tuned to create a wide range of sounds - everything from wind instruments to strings, pipe organs, crazy effects and beyond. The Steampipe has three major sections - STEAM, PIPE and REVERBERATOR.
The STEAM section can be compared to the lungs and mouth of a musician. The generator creates the flow of air or "steam", the envelope in this section determines the force with which it is blown out. DC/noise is the noise you get when blowing out. DC/Noise on the Steampipe can also be replaced with an external audio source.
The PIPE section can be compared to a flute. In the pipe, the tune is formed. Push (in feedback) bounces the steam like it does in a flute and generates the tone. The delay box subsection changes the flute's tuning and shape.
The REVERBERATOR adds space and ambience to the sound.
The Steampipe is optimized for performance with wind MIDI controllers and it works great with any MIDI keyboard. The overtones the Steampipe produces are very organic and rich and it comes with great-sounding presets. The Steampipe is rather versatile and allows for nuanced sonic exploration, conjuring sonic imagery ranging from from wisps of cloud to fairground band organs, then to industrial horns of the railroad and finally, to massive, otherworldly ambiences.
Notes: Suzuki's iconic Omnichord returns with the OM-108, a modern update of the classic formula featuring new digital synth sounds alongside the original omni1 and omni2 analogue synth circuits.
Supplier's notes:
Released in 1981, the Omnichord is an electronic musical instrument with an automatic accompaniment function (auto bass/chord) and equipped with a harp sensor. By pressing a chord button and sliding your finger on the harp sensor (strumplate), an arpeggio corresponding to the chord is heard, allowing anyone to easily accompany a song. Omnichord does not require any previous musical experience with an instrument, or even knowledge of staff notation. All that is needed are the chord names required to play a song which is a method commonly known as 'tab'. Combined with its portability, Omnichord became extremely popular, especially in Europe and America as a new musical instrument that anyone can enjoy - anywhere. In addition, due to the unique electronic sounds that are reminiscent of the 80's, and the tactile way musical expressions are achieved, Omnichord has developed cult status around the world. It not only appears in recorded music, but also publicity photos, and has featured in the titles of songs and albums. The Omnichord name was discontinued after the OM-300 (released in 1996), but its popularity as a unique musical instrument has endured the test of time, and now, over 40 years later the Omnichord returns with the OM-108.
Simply press a chord button and slide your finger on the strumplate. In this way, you can play accompaniment to almost any song on the very same day you first try the Omnichord!
Suzuki put a great deal of effort into the design of the Omnichord so that it accurately reproduces the sound of the OM-84, a model that is hailed as a masterpiece for its tone and versatility. To achieve this in the OM-108, Suzuki decided to apply the same method for sound creation as the OM84, incorporating real analogue circuitry into the new model. In total, the OM-108 is equipped with 10 types of strumplate tones, whilst "omni1" and "omni2" reproduce the classic sound of the OM-84, revived for future generations to enjoy.
The OM-108 includes a selection of timeless instrument tones that are both retro and current. The "celeste", "harp", and "piano" featured in previous models. The "FM piano" tone is new, this is an electric piano sound that helped define 1980s music. The OM-108 is equipped with. "omni1" and "omni2" which use real analogue circuitry. Other tones are reproduced using PCM sound generation.
There are 10 tones...omni1/omni2/harp/celeste/A.piano/guitar/FMpiano/organ /vibes/banjo(omni1 and omni2 have the same Main Voice but different Sub Voices).
The model OM-84 was equipped with two electronic harp tones, allowing the tones to be layered and played. OM-108 reproduces this function. A tone that sounds beautiful when layered with the Main Voice has been assigned as a Sub Voice. To control each layer, simply turn the appropriate Volume knob. This enables real time control changes adding expression to your sound.
Even though many rhythms included in the OM-108 share the same names as previous models, they have been updated to incorporate rhythm patterns that are current. Also, for the first time on Omnichord, a trap beat (Hip Hop) has been included. Suzuki have selected "usable" rhythms that will allow you to play a wider variety of songs.
There are 10 kinds of rhythm...rock1/rock2/slow rock/country/swing/disco/hip hop/funk/bossanova/waltz
The "sus4"' and "add9" chords, often used in popular music, have been added. It is now possible to play a total of 108 chord types, hence the model number 'OM-108'. The Omnichord has developed into an instrument that can be played more intuitively without having to substitute other chords.
Equipped with a wide type strumplate similar to models OM-100 onwards. Every corner of the plate responds sensitively to light touch, so you can concentrate on playing without stress.
In addition to the melody keyboard, the OM-108 is equipped with drum pad mode for the first time as a function (when the "KEYBOARD" button is pressed). Owners of the OM-108 will be pleased to note the drum pad is assigned not only to the chord button, but also to the strumplate. This allows for the creation of interesting beats using the OM-108 retro drum kits.
The OM-108 not only sends chords and strumplate data, but also drum performance information from MIDI OUT. Strumplate information can be sent on two MIDI channels, allowing you to layer tones with external MIDI sound sources, or to layer the OM-108 internal sounds with external sound sources. The OM-108 has evolved into an instrument that invites you to explore more creative sounds using MIDI.
The OM-108 includes rhythm voicing from the OM-84, which is extremely popular for its early 1980s retro sound. You can switch the rhythm tones between OM-108 and OM-84 by using a special 'power-on' operation.
Although it has a built-in speaker, the Omnichord is small, lightweight, and battery-powered*, making it easy to carry and play. Connect an external amplifier and headphones, and you can perform anywhere, such as in the studio, performing at a live venue, or just playing in your bedroom! *Powered by 8, AA batteries or dedicated AC adapter (both sold separately).
Using "REAL TIME CONTROL", the OM-108 integrates multiple functions for switching the way chords and rhythms are played. Whether you want to play at free tempo (without rhythm), add bass accompaniment, or start with a drum prelude, you can easily switch in real time even during a performance.
When connecting to an external speaker etc., you can turn on/off the sound produced by the speaker of the instrument. This is useful when you want to monitor your own sound during live performances. This is a new feature included on the OM-108 in direct response to user's requests.

Notes: Welcome to the world of sound of LYRA-8, the unique organismic analogue synthesiser designed by Vlad Kreimer. "Organismic" means that LYRA uses some principles that lie in the base of living organisms. The way how LYRA's modules interacting between each other and the behaviour of the instrument resembles a live conversation.
LYRA-8 is based on eight generators, which will be referred to as voices. Their design is not like a traditional subtractive synthesis VCO. Instead of having a linear or logarithmic dependency on control voltage, they resemble the tone generators in old electric organs. Hence the use of the term "voices" instead of "VCOs". Lyra uses non-linearity a lot, and the voices are constructed in such a way that allows for non-linearity to express itself.
The voices are divided into four pairs (12, 34, 56, 78). All the pairs are divided in two groups, with two pairs in each (1234, 5678), creating tree-like structure.
The voices can function either in an electric organ mode or in an FM synthesis mode with each of the voices and its envelope acting as a separate FM operator. The voice's impact on FM synthesis will decrease along with the decay of its envelope.
LYRA-8 also has the next blocks:
The HYPER LFO is a complex low-frequency generator, whose waveform is synthesized from two simple LFOs by summation or multiplication of their frequencies. It also has a sync mode. The LFO can modulate the selected pairs of voices and the MOD DELAY.
The MOD DELAY consists of two lines of delay with cross-feedback and a special architecture that enables resonance between the two lines. Each line's delay time can be individually modulated from various sources, including external ones. The delay has a unique possibility of self-modulation where the output signal modulates the delay sample rate, creating cool effects.
The DISTORTION is last in the chain, after the delay. It enables the delay to also influence the distortion.
For all its experimental character, LYRA is a professional instrument. Its output dynamics and frequency response are balanced and ready for a live performance or studio recording without any additional processing.

Supplier's Notes:
Unleashing the full power of PolyBrute
Continuing the legacy of its predecessor as one of the most powerful and expressive analogue synths ever made, PolyBrute 12 goes a step further.
A multi-faceted tool for musical expression, PolyBrute 12 lets you seamlessly evolve and control any parameters while playing. The input-perfect sensitivity of the keyboard, the bi-timbral morphing presets, the multi-axis Morphee controller, the Ribbon controller - all work in perfect harmony so you can breathe vitality and intricate dynamics into your sound.
PolyBrute's in-the-moment sonic display would not be possible without the raw energy of its Brute oscillators and dual enhanced classic filters. This, combined with its intuitive interface, elegant modulation Matrix and advanced software companion make PolyBrute 12 a synth for the ages - a matrimony of Brute force and human touch.
Full touch, full control
Discover a next-generation keybed and new aftertouch modes that bring you into a direct and tactile connection with your sound.
PolyBrute's patented FullTouch keyboard provides the exact position of every key across the entire range of movement. This not only allows for precise and dynamic aftertouch expression but it also puts versatility at PolyBrute's core - allowing you to go from regular playing modes to exceptional aftertouch and envelope control at the touch of a button.
You can also use PolyBrute 12 to control any MPE-compatible VST. If you don't have a MPE compatible DAW, you can still record expressively using MIDI 1.0, although at a lower resolution.
Mono Aftertouch
In this mode, the note is triggered by regular keyboard velocity and the classic aftertouch area corresponds to an assignable aftertouch signal, where all the voices receive the same level and amount of expression. Great for applying a unified modulation effect to a chord or phrase.
Morph between sonic worlds
Seamlessly blend from one patch to another and find that perfect middle ground
Each preset is made up of two sonic states, A & B. A dedicated Morph knob lets you seamlessly explore a continuum of sound between them. This, combined with the Morphee controller and PolyBrute's keyboard, paves the way for endless patch evolution and expressivity.
Analogue heart, seismic sound
PolyBrute's sound begins with two analogue VCOs sharing much of the same sonic architecture that has made the Brute family renowned.
Each oscillator generates sawtooth, triangle and square waves simultaneously, and you can mix between them to shape just the right signal source and timbre.
Dial in VCO 1's Metalizer wavefolding to escalate from pure to punchy. Bring in VCO 2's sub-oscillator to add an extra lower octave and some added rumble.
Dial in edgy FM effects by modulating VCO 1's frequency with VCO 2, or subtly alter a continuous range of harmonics with soft or hard sync.
1 VCF 1 Steiner
A 2-pole 12db/octave Steiner filter design with continuous sweepable slope types, as seen across the Brute range. The addition of the proprietary Brute Factor feedback control lets you add anything from subtle warmth to a electrified growl.
2 VCF 1 Ladder
Inspired by Dr. Bob Moog's legendary 4-pole 24db/octave ladder design. A low-pass classic, with added gain compensation and asymmetrical distortion to add upfront grit to your polyphonic patches.
Modern modulation sources
Modulation has always been essential in animating synth sounds.
PolyBrute weaves a web of envelopes and LFOs that's intricate and unpredictable in equal measure - a dynamic display of sonic motion.
Three Envelope Generators
PolyBrute's VCF and VCA have velocity-sensitive ADSR envelopes hardwired outside the Matrix for instant gratification. The third Envelope Generator features a delay stage (DADSR) and can be assigned to sculpt any Matrix modulation targets. Use the various repeat and loop modes to add complex movement to your patches.

Notes: SOLAR 42F is a unique experimental electro-music instrument, an analogue microtonal ambient drone machine. It will inspire you to find a new and spontaneous approach to composing music. It gives you the ability to create a multi-layered, massive sound. The instrument is oriented for live performances, creating film soundtracks, theatre soundtracks, atmospheric sounds, microtonal and background music.
It is an improved version of the older SOLAR 50 model. The instrument was inspired by early electronic musical instruments of the 1920s and 1950s, notably Leo Theremin's "Harmonium" instrument, as well as science fiction film soundtracks.
The new version of the Solar 42F has added a LIN/EXP CV switch, sub oscillators in volt octave voices and a band pass and stereo distortion mode to the filter. Other quality of life improvements include modified graphics - inputs have been labeled in black and outputs in red for convenience - bypasses for each channel of the effector and a LED indication in the joystick unit.
A standalone all-analogue tool for exploratory sound synthesis.
Notes: Super affordable but fun analogue synth, the LORE does two-oscillator FM synthesis to create experimental tones, drones and textures. Power via USB-C, output over 3.5mm jack socket.
Supplier's notes:
Lore takes two of the lush all-analogue oscillators from OVUM, and adds frequency modulation to unlock a wild new range of sounds. It's designed for exploring tones, drones, and frequency modulated textures. Each voice is made of an independently controlled triangle-core oscillators, with separate control for volume, pitch, and can be crossfaded between a bright square wave and a crisp triangle wave.
Lore is frequency modulation. The left oscillator can be sent to the audio output, where it will create harmony or dissonance with the right oscillator, or it can be switched to modulate the frequency of the right oscillator. This is a simplified and analog version of the kind of FM synthesis you'll find in digital synthesizers like the DX7 and it's descendants. It's hand-built from 100% analog circuitry, with no digital components, screens, quantization, or key-combinations to memorize - everything is immediate and at your fingertips.
Lore is enclosed in a sturdy transparent-green petroleum-free bioplastic case. It has a USB-C port for power, and a single 3.5mm audio output jack for headphones or line-out to connect to an amplifier, audio interface, or effects.
To reduce waste, by default Lore comes with just the instrument and a USB to USB-C power cable. If you don't have a spare USB power supply, they can be added to your purchase at checkout. Lore is portable, but does not contain a battery. It can be powered by any USB powerbank.
8-voice 37-key polyphonic digital wave morphing synthesiser
Notes: Limited-edition orange version of the superb Hydrasynth Explorer. A smaller, more affordable version of the Hydrasynth Keyboard. Advanced wavetable synthesis with 8-voice polyphony, hands-on control and an excellent keybed with polyphonic aftertouch.
Supplier's Notes:
The HYDRASYNTH EXPLORER is the ultimate in power and portability, combining the powerful Hydrasynth sound engine with battery-powered operation and the new, mid-sized Polytouch polyphonic aftertouch keybed. The user interface is designed with the utmost attention to detail, making sound creation a breeze. This is the ultimate, portable companion for any setup, and anywhere else a smaller footprint is needed.
With an advanced wavetable synthesis engine, 3 Oscillators, dual Wave Mutants, and 2 filters that can be configured in series or parallel, the tone generating capabilities are unmatched.
As for the performance capabilities, the Hydrasynth Explorer has the proprietary 37-note mid-sized Polytouch keybed with polyphonic aftertouch. This provides a level of expressive, per-note control found only in certain vintage synths.
Polytouch Keybed
The perennial pursuit of musical instrument manufacturers is to find better ways for musicians to express themselves. Options have been limited for keyboard players; ASM had to settle for a velocity-only approach to emphasize one note over another. Pressure-sensitive keyboards could only change all of the notes at the same time. Not anymore!
Enter ASM, with patented Polytouch technology. The semi-weighted keybed on the Hydrasynth Explorer provides fully polyphonic aftertouch, as well as Note On / Note Off velocity sensitivity and the monophonic aftertouch found on other keybeds. Finally, variations in key pressure can affect notes individually. It feels great, too: the 37-note Polytouch keybed on the Explorer features high quality, mid-sized keys, and you will feel right at home, right away. The revolutionary Hydrasynth Explorer Polytouch keyboard helps you be more in touch with the music you are making. Now every note you play can ebb and flow like the tide.
Battery-powered operation
The Hydrasynth Explorer is highly portable! In addition to its compact size, it can be powered by 8 AA batteries for hours of music-making anywhere you want to go.
Oscillators
The tone generation capability is the heart of any synthesizer, and the 3 Hydrasynth oscillators are alive with potential. Each of the oscillators lets you choose from a selection of 219 single-cycle waveforms. And on top of that, two of the oscillators have powerful wavemorphing capabilities. Wavemorphing is a feature usually found on synths with preset wavetables. But creating user wavetables on those products is arduous or downright impossible. Unlike most wavetable synths, the oscillators 1 & 2 have an easy-to-use WAVELIST mode. This mode lets you select any 8 waves from the diverse collection of 219 waves, arrange them in the order you want, and then morph from one wave to another. This can be done automatically with any modulation source, such as an LFO or an envelope, or manually with a physical control such as polyphonic aftertouch or a Macro. And now in version 2.0 you can choose the bit depth of each oscillator, which puts those sought-after vintage or grungy sounds at your fingertips.
Mutants
Oscillators 1 & 2 are routed into ASM's MUTANTS. The Mutants allow you to modulate, bend and sculpt the sound in new (and old) ways.
Each Mutant lets you choose from the following processes:
FM-Linear: This is for making classic FM sounds. Choose multiple FM sources, including external inputs.
WavStack™: Creates 5 copies of the input source and allows you to set a detune amount.
Osc Sync: This gives you those classic hard sync sounds. Try hard-syncing a morphing wavetable for some fun.
Pulse Width Modulation (PW-Orig): Performs the classic pulse width modulation on any waveform.
PW-Squeeze: Compresses the centre section of the waveform, for a unique type of PWM.
PW-ASM: Divides the incoming wave into 8 slices and lets you set the amount of FM that is applied to each segment. This is FM unleashed.
Harmonic Sweep: This will sweep the harmonics of the input source.
PhazDiff: Generates the difference of the incoming wave and a version that is inverted and phase-shifted.
The Mutants can also generate their own waveforms in both FM and Sync modes, so you don't have use another oscillator. Of course, the routing is flexible so you can choose the other oscillators as mod sources if you like.
Mixer / Filter Routing
The 3 Oscillators are fed into a mixer along with the Noise generator and Ring Modulator. The mixer gives you independent control over the levels and stereo positions of those 5 sources. After this you are able to choose how much signal from each source is routed to filters 1 and 2. The filters can be routed in parallel or series for ultimate flexibility. Who knew that a simple mixer could be so powerful?
Filters
If oscillators and tone generators are the heart of a synthesizer, the filters are the soul. The soul of a Hydrasynth is a complex thing; it can claw or caress, scream or soothe, mangle or melt. It has been known to speak. The multi-faceted Hydrasynth filters are right in the thick of it. Filter 1 has 16 different models ranging from 1 to 8 poles, many with high-, band-, and low pass options. There is also a flexible vocal filter with formant control. Even if Filter 1 were the only filter the Hydrasynth had, it would take a lifetime to exhaust the possibilities. But it is not alone. Filter 2 is a 12dB per octave state-variable filter, which means it can sweep continuously from either low pass > bandpass > high pass or low pass > notch > high pass. It is similar to the classic SEM filter in many ways.
These two formidable filters can be configured in series or parallel. This means the one can feed and be sculpted by the other (series), or they can complement one another (parallel). With careful use of source panning in the Mixer module, the left and right outputs can be completely different or rich in unified complexity.
LFO's
5 Low-Frequency Oscillators
Much like ASM's sound engine, the LFOs are not ordinary by any means.
The Hydrasynth LFOs feature a STEP mode that lets you create patterns with up to 64 steps. Having 5 mini step sequencers gives you an amazing number of possibilities for further shaping your sound.
Of course, there are also 10 standard waveforms available, including Sample and Hold, Noise, and Random.
Each LFO has delay, fade in, 3 triggering modes, smoothing, start phase, BPM sync, and a One-Shot mode so that they can act as envelopes.
The version 2.0 LFOs have some exciting new features, including a Step option for the One-Shot mode that allows the Step wave to advance by one step per trigger.
And LFOs now can be quantized to create stepped values. It's like bit reduction for your LFOs.
Wait...LFOs can be envelopes?! Can envelopes be LFOs? Glad you asked...
Envelopes
5 DAHDSR Envelopes
An advanced sound engine needs plenty of modulation sources. The 6-stage envelopes feature Delay, Attack, Hold, Decay, Sustain, and Release stages.
The durations of the ADR stages can be set to seconds or subdivisions of the tempo, giving you envelopes that play in sync to your song.
In fact, you can also loop the envelopes, which turns them into LFOs that can be shaped by any source in the modulation matrix.
Each envelope can be triggered by up to four different sources, and there's a Tap Trigger option too.
And now the envelopes can be quantized to different step levels as of version 2.0. Bit reduction strikes again!
Modulation Matrix
The modulation capabilities on the Hydrasynth are endless. With 32 user-definable Modulation matrix slots, there are plenty of ways to use the 35 modulation sources and 191 modulation destinations. Almost everything in the synth engine can be a modulation destination, including the effects and arpeggiator. The modulation routes themselves can also become modulation destinations, and can be targeted by the Macros too. Modulation sources & destinations include the CV Mod Out jacks as well as all 128 MIDI CCs. There are some hard-wired modulation routes located in other modules too. This means you don't have to burn up one of the 32 mod routes in the Modulation matrix to do certain basic functions.
Arpeggiator
The arpeggiator has all the standard arpeggio directions plus a few twists (up, down, and/or sideways, sort of). There's also a built-in phrase mode, and version 2.0 adds new features like Step Offset and increases the range to 6 octaves. Parameters like RATCHET and CHANCE will generate other semi-random rhythmic patterns to add life and spontaneity to your performance.
You can also modulate most of the parameters in the arpeggiator. Imagine using LFOs, Envelopes, Polyphonic Aftertouch or the Ribbon controller to modify your arpeggios in real time! It boggles the mind.
Notes: Pink version of Soma's excellent Lyra-8. Brilliantly unusual synth based on eight analogue tone generators, functioning more like an electric organ or FM synth than a conventional subtractive architecture. Unique sound.
Supplier's Notes:
Welcome to the world of sound of LYRA-8, the unique organismic analogue synthesiser designed by Vlad Kreimer.
Six-voice analogue variable character desktop synthesiser
Notes: Building on Supercritical's back catalogue, the Redshift provides a range of characters, based around the Demon Core Oscillator and Neutron Flux Filter. Six-voice analogue design with multitimbral options, MPE control and DSP effects.
Supplier's Notes:
Supercritical Synthesizers introduces their first desktop instrument, Redshift 6 - six voice analogue Variable Character Synthesizer
Supermassively dense analogue oscillator combined with a chameleon analogue filter with versatile gain staging. Now sixfold.
Redshift 6 combines technology from the company's previous products, the Demon Core Oscillator and the Neutron Flux Filter. Each of the six voices features a DCO with analogue waveforms generated under digital control. The filter core is an analogue 4-pole state variable filter also digitally controlled to act like almost any classic vintage synthesizer filter and more. In addition to the oscillators and filters, Redshift 6 has all the features expected of a modern synth - plenty of modulators, flexible voice routing, multitimbrality, MPE, and DSP effects.
Redshift 6's idea is something that is wrapped in the moniker "Variable Character Synthesizer". Each voice's analogue path regarding tuning, gain staging, filter, and more is under strict digital control. Redshift 6 has as lush and warm sweet spot inspired by the analogue polysynth tradition, but it can also cover the full range from almost digitally sterile and clean to distorted misbehaviour and beyond. No modelling here - it's all analogue until the bypassable stereo DSP effects processor.
The oscillator, already road-tested in the Demon Core Oscillator eurorack module, is featured in each of the six voices. The oscillator has multiple tricks up its sleeve, each one wrapped as an Engine for the user to choose between. Traditional twin oscillator engines, supersaw engines, flanging phase sync engines, and transistor organ engines are all powerful modes in user-friendly ways that are easily controllable and modulatable.
Redshift 6's six voices can be configured in plenty of ways. Choose between true six-voice polyphony, classic vintage poly dual layer mode with 3+3 voices, six individual voices each with their own patch and physical output, or any combination of the above. Each of the six voices can also operate as a paraphonic voice with up to 16 note paraphony. Additionally, multiple filters can be chained by routing audio from one voice to another.
The form factor of Redshift 6 is a modern, compact desktop device with a 2.7-inch colour screen. Menu diving is reduced to a minimum, with quick navigation via the shortcut button grid. A selection of familiar synth controls are featured on the front panel. A macro mode is included with six user-assignable controls. The back panel features main audio outputs with a DSP effects processor and four auxiliary voice outputs.
One of the major design principles of Redshift 6 is to have a versatile and capable analogue platform and a flexible UI for new Engines, easily updateable via software updates.

Innovative modern analogue synthesis laboratory with integrated touch controller
Notes: Typically creative stuff from Pittsburgh Modular, the updated Voltage Lab is the pinnacle of the brand's synth output. Dual oscillator design with a 16-note touch controller, built-in sequencer and MIDI control.
Supplier's Notes:
The Pittsburgh Modular Voltage Lab 2 is a cutting edge synthesis laboratory that offers a new palette of analogue textures and waveforms to sonic researchers. Newly developed wave shaping capabilities paired with powerful synthesis tools, and a deep, performance oriented controller join together to create a complete sound design laboratory. This instrument has a very physical sound. The tones it creates feel natural and alive, with traditional waveforms becoming the seeds of unique new shapes and sounds that shift between analogue physical modeling and more unfamiliar, abstract timbres.
Laboratory Oscillator 1
Voltage Lab 2 includes a pair of Laboratory Oscillators. Each with a unique set of newly invented waveshaping tools designed to expand the sonic potential of analogue synthesis. Laboratory Oscillator 1 introduces Center Clipping to analogue synthesis. Center clipping unlocks independent control over the top and bottom of the waveform, allowing for detailed manipulation of harmonics and timbre without affecting pitch. It does this by processing waveforms from the center out as opposed to traditional methods which work from the peaks inwards.
Laboratory Oscillator 2
Laboratory Oscillator 2 introduces a host of new sonic possibilities with two new waveshapers. Pulse Symmetry and Reflection. Pulse Symmetry creates a new species of pulse wave that adds a step between the top and bottom of the waveform. The resulting wave looks like a set of stairs where the depth of the center step can be adjusted in addition to the pulse width. Wave Reflection takes the bottom half of the waveform and reflects it onto the top half. Each waveshape responds to this differently. For example, a saw wave morphs into a triangle while triangle and sine waves lose their fundamental harmonic and jump up an octave.
Pittsburgh Dynamics Controllers
The new Dynamics technology imparts Voltage Lab 2 with a uniquely organic depth and presence. By simultaneously managing both amplitude and harmonic content, the Pittsburgh Dynamics Controller expands beyond the one dimensional VCA found in other synthesizers. It does this by utilizing new advancements from traditional low pass gates to add additional definition and dimension to the voices of the Voltage Lab 2.
When used in low pass gate mode, sounds shed harmonic content and become warmer as they decrease in volume. This mimics how sound waves react to their environment. Because of this connection, the Voltage Lab 2 sounds more natural or complex compared to other instruments.
Touch Controller 2
The Touch Controller 2 enables artists to blend traditional pitched performances with the freedom to openly experiment, creating a flexible playground for music creation. Two independent channels offer a combination of real time, expressive playing and in-depth sequencing. Assignable scales, step conditions, jumps, chance effects, generative sequencing, and a host of other tools, come together allowing musicians to both create and interact with complex systems.
A Florist and Echos
The Voltage Lab 2 includes a set of analogue time based effects, Florist and Echos. The Florist is a flanger/chorus hybrid that focuses on brighter, short time shifts with highly controlled feedback allowing for maximum ringing before self oscillation. Echos is a more traditional, darker analogue BBD delay that also utilizes highly controlled feedback to provide a larger number of repeats before falling into self oscillation. Both effects are perfect for traditional workflows and unconventional experimentation.
Complete Set of Modular Tools
The Voltage Lab 2 includes a host of fully modular, analogue and digital synthesis tools to support and enhance it's core functionality. Analog tools include flexible mixers, a pair of complex function generators, noise, sample and hold, and an LFO. Digital tools cover external MIDI, arpeggiator, and a robust chance sequencer. The Voltage Lab 2 toolset is deep enough for all types of sonic experiments.
Notes: Drawing on the iconic Mono/Poly synth from 1981, the Multi/Poly reimagines Korg's heritage for the 21st century. Super versatile analogue modelling engine allows you to create unique synth voicings.
Supplier's Notes:
Explore breathtaking analogue-inspired sound with the limitless power of digital technology. The multi/poly is the first synthesizer to use Korg's next-generation analogue modelling technology, building on the distinctive combination of big, bold sounds and modular-derived experimental features that made the Mono/Poly legendary. It's like having a polyphonic modular system in a compact, hands-on package, offering limitless possibilities for sound designers and synth enthusiasts alike.
Create hardware mashups with East-coast, West-coast, and wavetable oscillators alongside a wide selection of newly modelled filters. Bring these sounds to life with models of different envelopes, VCAs, and portamento circuits, while virtual voice cards add organic timbral variation. The Layer Rotate feature triggers new Programs with each key press, while Kaoss Physics, Motion Sequencing 2.0, massive modulation capabilities, and more allow for deep sound exploration.
Next-Level Analogue Modelling
multi/poly features redesigned, incredibly detailed filters and oscillators, and advances in analogue modelling that take this technology to a new level. Each voice contains a Virtual Voice Card, where oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFOs, and portamento circuits are modelled to reflect analogue hardware component variations. As a result, each voice can have its own slightly different character, creating rich and naturally evolving timbres. Just like in an analogue synthesizer, voice cards continue to play even if you're not hearing them. Envelopes evolve naturally, meaning if you play a long pad with an extended-release time, newly played notes "catch" the envelope at its current state rather than restarting from zero. Oscillators and LFOs maintain phase, while resonance continues to ring out. Pitch drift mimics the subtle instabilities of true analogue hardware.
multi/poly also includes envelope curvature presets inspired by classic synths like the Mono/Poly, MS-20, ARP Odyssey, and Prophet 5. Additionally, analogue VCAs behave differently depending on voltage, with varying thresholds for turning on and off, which has a strong impact on the Amp Envelope's character. multi/poly models VCA responses from the Mono/Poly, MS-20, Prophet 5, Mini, Odyssey, and more, alongside a linear option.
Four Oscillators Per Program for Complex Tones
multi/poly offers four oscillators per Program, providing thick, multi-layered tones. You can choose from three types of oscillators:
Classic oscillators:
These faithfully model traditional analogue waveforms with stunning accuracy. The 11 options include both single and dual waveforms, giving you rich, thick sounds. Front-panel knobs offer control over pulse width, triangle "lean," dual-waveform blending, and more.
Digital oscillators
Play wavetables with up to 64 steps, like vintage hybrid synths or modern Eurorack modules. Start with over 200 factory wavetables or import your own using the Editor/Librarian software for macOS and Windows. You can even import Modwave wavetables or convert wavetables from popular software formats. The 30+ Modifiers allow you to reshape wavetables, while 8 Morph Types (Stretch, Flip, Mirror, etc.) process them in real time.
Waveshaper oscillators
Inspired by West-Coast synthesis, these oscillators take simple waveforms (sine or triangle) and process them through a shaper table, producing dynamic harmonics. Use the Berkeley shaper for traditional wavefolding timbres, or choose from over 90 shaper types for a vast array of tones. The multi/poly also supports modulatable pulse width, adding richness and motion to your sound.
Additionally, the multi/poly includes a noise generator with dedicated filtering and saturation, and a ring modulator with inputs from the oscillators. You can create powerful sounds by leveraging the enhanced sync and x-mod capabilities, which expand on the Mono/Poly's original design. Create unique tones by syncing oscillators 2, 3, and 4 to oscillator 1, or split sync and x-mod into pairs for independent control.
Dual Modelled Filters for Maximum Flexibility
multi/poly's filters are newly redesigned to offer a range of classic and modern options. The multi/poly also includes the MS-20 LP and HP 12dB/octave Korg 35 filters, recreating the aggressive, distinctive sound of the MS-20. For gentler tones, use the SE M/P 2-pole filter, which offers continuous control for sweeping between lowpass, band-reject, and highpass, with a separate bandpass mode. multi/poly's filters support audio-rate modulation, allowing you to modulate filters using any oscillator or the ring modulator for bright, fizzy, and bubbling effects.
M/Poly: A 4-pole self-resonating filter, modelled on the Mono/Poly.
Mini: A ladder filter from a famous American mono-synth, with reduced resonance at low frequencies-perfect for bass.
Pro: From the first programmable polyphonic synthesizer, offering strong resonant sweeps.
Ladder HP/BP: 4-pole self-resonating highpass and bandpass filters.
Use the Drive circuit to add weight or distortion, ranging from subtle thickening to extreme saturation. You can use two filters at once in series or parallel, with each source (oscillators, noise, and ring mod) having its own balance control to crossfade between filters. Modulate the A/B balance for even more creative sound shaping.
The Power of Four
multi/poly's structure allows you to build four Layers, each containing a separate Program. This adds an entirely new dimension of sonic complexity, as you can layer up to four Programs simultaneously in a Performance. These can be used to create massive, multi-layered sounds or creative splits and velocity-triggered variations. Each Program features its own set of oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFOs, and effects, allowing you to craft detailed, evolving performances that change with every key press.
Each Program starts with four oscillators, a noise generator, and both sync and x-mod capabilities. These are processed through two independent filters, providing massive tonal flexibility. For modulation, multi/poly includes four loopable DAHDSR envelopes, five LFOs, and six Mod Processors, allowing you to create detailed and evolving sounds.
Layer Rotate for Evolving Performances
The Layer Rotate feature allows you to cycle through these four Programs with each key press, ensuring dynamic, ever-changing performances. Inspired by the original Mono/Poly's paraphonic mode, Layer Rotate offers endless creative possibilities. You can set the Layers to trigger in random or repeating order and use them in combination with the arpeggiator for complex, mind-bending patterns.
Production-ready Effects
The multi/poly's effects ensure your sounds are polished and ready for the stage or studio. Each layer features three dedicated effects, along with a send to the Performance's master reverb and a master parametric EQ. In addition to standard effects like compressors, EQs, choruses, flangers, phasers, and stereo delays, you'll have access to unique sound-shaping processors such as the Wave Shaper, Talking Modulator, Reverse Delay, and Multiband Mod Delay, as well as the famous Overb from the OASYS and Kronos. multi/poly also includes modelled effects like Vox guitar amps, Vox wah, Vintage Distortion, CX-3 Rotary Speaker and Vibrato/Chorus, multi-head tape echo, and a collection of classic guitar pedals, giving you endless possibilities to shape your sound.
Built to Perform
An instrument that sounds this great deserves to look and feel fantastic, too. The new semi-weighted keybed is smooth and expressive, providing a responsive playing experience, while the knobs offer just the right amount of resistance, perfect for fine-tuning your sounds. The solid aluminium front panel ensures durability, making it road-ready for live performances, while the wooden side-panels and blue-on-black colour scheme are a stylish nod to the original Mono/Poly design. Plus, the multi/poly comes with a custom-made soft case, making it easy to transport and protect your instrument wherever you go.

Notes: Introducing the revived version of LYRA-4 organismic synthesiser, the younger sister of the famous LYRA-8. "Organismic" means that LYRA uses some principles that lie in the base of living organisms. The way how LYRA's modules interacting between each other and the behaviour of the instrument resembles a live conversation. It's smaller and weighs less but is equally rugged in design, and still packs a lot of punch. This makes it easy to fit in a backpack and perfect for taking the LYRA sound on the road. And playing two LYRA-4s can actually sound very different than just one LYRA-8.
LYRA-4 is based on four generators, which will be referred to as voices.
The voices are divided into two pairs (12, 34), creating tree-like structure.
The voices can function either in an electric organ mode or in an FM synthesis mode with each of the voices and its envelope acting as a separate FM operator. The voice's impact on FM synthesis will decrease along with the decay of its envelope.
LYRA-4 also has the next blocks:
The HYPER LFO is a complex low-frequency generator, whose waveform is synthesized from two simple LFOs by summation or multiplication of their frequencies. It also has a sync mode. The LFO can modulate the selected pairs of voices and the MOD DELAY.
The MOD DELAY consists of delay with feedback.

Notes: Welcome to the world of sound of LYRA-8, the unique organismic analogue synthesiser designed by Vlad Kreimer. "Organismic" means that LYRA uses some principles that lie in the base of living organisms.

Breath-taking analogue-inspired sound with the limitless power of digital technology
Notes: Based on the iconic Mono/Poly analogue synth of the early 1980s, the Multi/Poly draws on decades of tech innovation to offer something fresh and exciting. Super versatile analogue modelling engine allows you to create unique synth voicings.
Supplier's Notes:
Multi/poly module
Breath-taking analogue-inspired sound with the limitless power of digital technology.
Summary
The multi/poly module takes analogue modelling to new heights, offering musicians and sound designers an incredible fusion of classic analogue warmth and cutting-edge digital power in a compact, rack-mountable module form. Inspired by the legendary Mono/Poly, this revolutionary synthesizer features four oscillators per program, advanced modulation capabilities, and a wealth of hands-on controls, allowing you to craft everything from rich, layered textures to futuristic, experimental tones. The new 19" rack-mountable enclosure has the same controls as the keyed model yet boasts an easily transportable form factor that fits neatly into any studio or desktop production system.
Overview
Inspired by the legendary Korg Mono/Poly, the new multi/poly analogue modelling synthesizer delivers breathtaking analogue sounds combined with extraordinary digital power and flexibility.
Korg is now pleased to introduce the multi/poly module: all of the multi/poly's incredible features and sounds in a compact 19" desktop/rackmount package. With support for MIDI 2.0 property exchange and poly aftertouch, the module is an excellent companion to Korg's Keystage controller. It's also fully compatible with programs from the multi/poly native software, as well as an increasing number of excellent third-party libraries, keeping the updated sounds and software fresh. The new 19" rack-mountable enclosure has the same controls as the keyed model, yet is easily transportable and fits neatly into any studio or desktop production system.
As a result, each voice can have its own slightly di6erent character, creating rich and naturally evolving timbres
Just like in an analogue synthesiser, voice cards continue to play even if you're not hearing them. Envelopes evolve naturally, meaning if you play a long pad with an extended release time, newly played notes "catch" the envelope at its current state rather than restarting from zero Oscillators and LFOs maintain phase, while resonance continues to ring out. Pitch drift mimics the subtle instabilities of true analogue hardware.
The multi/poly also includes envelope curvature presets inspired by classic synths like the Mono/Poly, MS-20, ARP Odyssey, and Prophet 5. Additionally, analogue VCAs behave di6erently depending on voltage, with varying thresholds for turning on and o6, which has a strong impact on the Amp Envelope's character. multi/poly models VCA responses from the Mono/Poly, MS-20, Prophet 5, Mini, Odyssey, and more, alongside a linear option.
MIDI 2.0 property exchange and polyphonic aftertouch support
All models of multi/poly, hardware and software, support MIDI 2.0 Property Exchange and easy access to Polyphonic Aftertouch - making them excellent companions to Korg's Keystage controller.
Rack-mount and desktop compatible
The multi/poly module is cleverly designed for both desktop and rack-mount use. The front panel is redesigned to fit into a standard 19" width, and the rear jack panel is recessed to allow easy access to cables even with gear mounted directly above. With desktop setups, brackets over a choice of panel angles: flatter for performing standing up, or more upright for working while seated in your studio
Specifications

Other specifications are the same as for multi/poly.
Notes: Derived from the excellent Lyra-8, the Lyra-4 features a similar 'organismic' approach to synthesis. Four-voice non-linear architecture offers unique tones in a compact, portable format.
Supplier's Notes:
Introducing the revived version of LYRA-4 organismic synthesiser, the younger sister of the famous LYRA-8.

A small generative synthesizer with two voices and corresponding sequencers
Notes: A lovely creative approach to generative synthesis. Dual voices with triangle/square wave oscillators, shift register and envelopes can be patched via banana cables to create unique grooves and drones.
Supplier's Notes:
Double Knot v3
The Double Knot v3 is a small generative synthesizer with two voices and corresponding sequencers. This instrument has a simple architecture which is capable of a wide variety of sounds, including rhythms and drum patterns or textural and grating noise sounds. The interface is made up of knobs, switches, and banana plugs for patching. The two voices of this device each consist of a triangle/square wave oscillator, a shift register sequencer, an enveloper, and a voltage controlled amplifier. A clock sets the tempo of the shift registers.
The voices of the Double Knot are pre-wired, in a linear chain of functional blocks. The patch points are available to route modulations, influencing the simple linear voices. The game of this device is to investigate the relationships between the elements of the synth using the knobs, switches and patch-points.
FAQ
How many banana cables do I need? and what length?
8 or 10 cables around 12" long is a great start.
Can I patch this with my other synth?
Only what is safe for this synth. The banana ports of this device can handle max +/- 8V at all inputs and outputs assuming at least a 1k output impedance in the other device. The response range of the voltage inputs is ~1.2v - 8V (range of a TL07x powered by 9V).
Is this synth good by itself, or does it rely on other devices to be useful?
Some good sounds can be had using this device and a handful of banana cables.
A unique duophonic hybrid-analogue synthesiser with dual filter, patches and full USB-C MIDI Control.
Notes: Co-developed by the late Chris Huggett, the Mantis is PWM's flagship synth, a duophonic hybrid design with high-performance digital oscillators and state-variable analogue filters. A fitting tribute to a legendary synth designer.
Supplier's Notes:

The EaganMatrix Micro is a perfect companion to the amazing Warbl Wind Controller.
The fingering holes on the Warbl are not just switches. You can hear that the pitch starts off a bit as the finger gets close to the hole (like it would on an acoustic wind instrument) and hits the final pitch once the hole is covered. It's a subtle effect but important. The following video shows 15 Presets from the Micro's demo assortment that Edmund Eagan skillfully customized to take advantage of the Warbl's specific sensing technology. In the future there may be demo assortments customized for the sensing technologies of other devices.
Hundreds of System Presets are included with the EaganMatrix Micro. An external cross-platform (Mac and PC) Haken Editor may be connected to modify and customize the supplied EaganMatrix System Presets, or create completely new presets from scratch.
The EaganMatrix Sound Technology, originally created for the highly sensitive Continuum, is now available to you in this compact form factor.

Full modular synthesiser with granular, subtractive and resynthesis capabilites
Notes: A complete system which really showcases Make Nose's experimental approach, the Resynthesizer features Make Noise classics like the Spectraphon and Morphagene and hands-on control via the PrssPnt, alll housed in a 4 Zone CV Bus Case.
Supplier's Notes:
The ReSynthesizer can trace its origins to Spring 2023, with Walker and Rodent putting together a collection of modules to announce and demonstrate the Soundhack Spectraphon at Superbooth '23. These modules would need to complement Spectraphon in a way that would show its true capabilities. As such, this specialized layout comprised a single-system overview of the last 8 years of Make Noise module designs.
After Superbooth, Walker and Peter continued to use a similar system configuration in videos for Make Noise's Youtube and Instagram Channels, prompting some folks to speculate if it was to be Make Noise's new 7U system. At that time there were no plans for a new system; in fact, this layout had been intended as temporary all along, but it was made a useful layout in almost all cases. (The layout even gained the popular unofficial moniker "System X" thanks to the speculative work of Cinematic Laboratory and others.) Choices like the unusual placement of the Morphagene, adjacent to Spectraphon, which was initially assumed would be mainly for a very specific use-case, quickly became second nature to patch. The Spectraphon and Morphagene work together to ReSynthesize raw materials into lush soundscapes, microsound manipulations, or wherever the path leads.
In early 2024, Make Noise announced DXG for the easy mixdown of mono or stereo signals, and PrssPnt to add physical touch interaction. With these pieces in place, the ReSynthesizer is born. Pairing the Spectraphon with the Morphagene and the core Make Noise CV generation suite, and housed in the powerful and portable 4 Zone CV Bus Case, the ReSynthesizer is an open design blackboard ready for experimentation and discovery.
Make Noise put this collection through its paces and have found it to hold up to any test thrown at it!

Design philosophy
Knob-For-Knob Functionality:
Artium Instruments are committed to knob-for-knob functionality. Every feature of The Swarm is directly mapped to a knob, button, switch, or jack, ensuring effortless control. There's no need for menu-diving or complicated sequences of button presses to access features; everything is conveniently accessible at your fingertips.
Curated, Onboard Effects:
With over a decade of experience in the effects industry, Artium have carefully curated a selection of effects that seamlessly complement the synth core. Unique to The Swarm is its capability to use the onboard effects with other equipment, allowing you to route external audio through the inputs on the back.
Plug and Play Functionality:
The Swarm utilizes a USB-C MIDI host for simplicity and ease of use. Most modern class-compliant MIDI controllers with USB functionality should plug in and work immediately with zero setup. Additionally, The Swarm provides power to your controller, streamlining your setup process. For older controllers that only have DIN connections, a USB to DIN converter can be used to ensure compatibility. (These converters typically cost $10-20)
Quality Craftsmanship, Intentional Design:
Artium have invested considerable thought into crafting the overall feel of the instrument. From the layout of the knobs to the choice of colours, artwork, and the weight of the enclosure, every detail has been considered. These details matter because the connection a user forms with a piece of gear is almost as crucial in the creative process as the sounds it produces. A lot of love and passion has been poured into every aspect of The Swarm, from its sonic capabilities to its design aesthetics.
Open Source Platform:
Artium desktop synths use an open source platform known as Axoloti or Ksoloti for development and implementation of its products.
Synth core
Oscillator:
The Swarm features a SuperSaw oscillator with 8-note polyphony. This oscillator is composed of seven individual saw waves stacked on top of each other. The magic unfolds when you detune the waveforms by applying a frequency offset, resulting in one of the most massive synth sounds available.
Control Modes:
The Swarm employs this massive sound through two distinct control modes: Polyphonic Mode and Arpeggiator Mode. In Polyphonic Mode, you can play up to eight notes simultaneously, exploring the full range of polyphony. Arpeggiator Mode offers a comprehensive monophonic arpeggiator, automatically sequencing held notes in a variety of patterns, enhancing your creative possibilities.
More Features & Controls:
To shape the sound further The Swarm has a 4 Pole Low Pass Filter with a subtle resonance as well as a simple attack and release envelope.
Onboard effects
All onboard effects can be used with other music equipment. Simply plug an external audio source into the rear input jacks, and The Swarm will seamlessly mix the external audio with its synth core, allowing for simultaneous processing of both signals.
Freeze:
By pressing the touchpad on the right, The Swarm records a 1000ms sample of the current audio. It then layers, and smears the sample, creating an infinite drone frozen in time-a perfect foundation for layering additional notes. The freeze effect facilitates overdubbing, and pressing the touchpad with the freeze knob at its minimum setting erases the memory, allowing the device to capture a fresh sample.
Delay:
The Swarm's delay is a digital delay with a subtle touch of warmth. The delay length synchronizes with the arpeggiator clock, which can be adjusted manually using the clock knob or via the tap tempo touchpad on the left. Additionally, the delay features a multiplier knob, offering a range of unique subdivisions that complement the synced arpeggiator, including quarter notes, dotted eighths, eighths, and triplets.
Reverb:
The reverb effect in The Swarm strives to enhance the natural body and ambience of the synth core without overshadowing it. Its stereo reverb algorithm is controlled by a single knob, which adjusts both the mix and decay simultaneously. This versatile control allows you to seamlessly transition from realistic room or hall effects to expansive cathedral-like soundscapes, offering a wide range of atmospheric possibilities.
Chorus:
The SuperSaw oscillator practically demands to be paired with a chorus effect. The Swarm employs a stereo 4-voice chorus effect alongside a gradually shifting LFO, aiming to craft dimensionality without becoming nauseating.

The Spectrum Generator
The Spectrum Generator uses pre-defined reference spectra and various harmonic manipulation tools to provide precise control and alteration of the timbre. Adjust formant, rotation of bins, the waveform used for signal reconstruction and more to craft the raw character. These parameters can be modulated for some complex soundscape creation.
The Sub-Oscillator
The Sub-Oscillator is designed to complement the Spectrum Generator, providing a wide range of sonic material to choose from. It features modern Virtual Analog Algorithms for classic waveform generation and super-saw and super-square waveforms. Additionally, it can play user-imported short waveforms for even greater versatility in sound creation.
The Noise Module
The Noise Module is an advanced source including a built-in continuous low-pass to high-pass filter for precise control over the noise spectral content. The noise sample rate can be programmed to generate crackles, glitches, or pure white noise, depending on the needs.
The Ring Modulator
The Ring Modulator is an iconic tool that multiplies the outputs of the two oscillators, making it perfect for generating inharmonic tones, special effects, and percussive sounds.
The Multimode Filter
The Multimode Filter uses hand-written assembly algorithms based on latest research on analogue modeling technology. It offers classic shapes in 12 and 24dB/octave, with filter tracking and self-resonance capabilities. The built-in saturations add subtle warmth and colour to the sound. The filter has a very smooth & natural ground character and react very fast to cutoff changes handling filter FM and fast envelopes with style.
The Overdrive

It adds grit, warmth, and distortion to the sound for a dynamic and expressive performance. Algorithms are very natural sounding, analogue-like.
Meta-Envelopes
The Meta-Envelopes share their Attack, Sustain, and Release parameters, while each Decay stage is independent. Envelope stages can be switched on or off, allowing for a variety of shapes from a full ADSR to a simple gate. MIDI Velocity can be set to influence the Attack and Decay times, and envelope amplitude can be scaled with aftertouch. Envelopes can be looped and reset on triggering or set to keep its previous value.
Custom-LFOs
The Custom-LFOs provide an eclectic set of more than 16 waveforms, including noises and other algorithms, waveforms which can be chained together to create complex modulation sequences. Each LFO has its own AR envelope with Rise and Fall controls, and can be MIDI clocked and restarted for precise synchronization. Additionally, some MIDI parameters can influence the LFO amplitude.
The Modulation Matrix
The Modulation Matrix consists of 3x slots for each voice, providing extensive routing options to enhance the hardwired connections. The matrix offers a large selection of sources and destinations that cover almost all sound parameters. The modulation amount can be scaled by common MIDI parameters such as Aftertouch, Velocity, and more, allowing for expressive playing styles.
The Delay Module
The Delay Module offers Mono, Stereo, and Ping-Pong modes, with MIDI clock synchronization and adjustable feedback, mix, and colour controls. It supports a range of delay lengths, from very short - resonator-like - to free delay length up to 8 seconds. Each part has its own independent delay module.
The Equalizer Section
The Equalizer Section features two independent equalizers for each part, offering cut, boost, or shelf modes and adjustable corner frequencies. This is a powerful tool for blending the sounds of the different parts.
The Part Mixer
The Part Mixer provides flexible routing (audio buses), volume and panning controls for each part. It also defines the amount of signal sent to the master Reverb.
The Master Reverb
The Master Reverb is a high-quality algorithmic reverberation unit with a pleasant not bright but clean sound. It offers multiple programs with rooms and halls. This reverb is a handy mixing tool, making the overall sound more cohesive and polished.
Electronics
Manatee is powered by 2x 200MHz dual-core DSPs, offering advanced audio synthesis capabilities and an impressive dynamic range. Included too are 128 MBit of SRAM, 512 kBit of EEPROM, 4x 24-bit Burr Brown DACs, and transparent line and headphone drivers.

"West-Coast"
The characteristic sound of the IMPLEXUS comes from shaping and folding a sinewave, resulting in a complex waveform. The shaping and folding can be modulated at audio-rate in a single knob turn utilizing the second generator. Instead of subtracting you will be adding harmonics. After tweaking for a while you will be surprised to find out you didn't touch the filter... yet.
Unique filter design
The IMPLEXUS offers a 12dB/oct VCF with a unique analogue topology. This filter offers a lowpass and highpass mode. For cutoff modulation there is an envelope amount control with polarizer and a CV input on the back of the IMPLEXUS. There is an input mixer that has amplitude control over three inputs: complex generator, basic generator and the sub-oscillator.
Syncable delay
The IMPLEXUS has a stereo digital delay with dry/wet, delay-time and feedback control. There is a subtle modulation difference between the left and right channels to create a wide stereo image.
The delay can be synchronized to MIDI and external (modular) clock sources. Also the delay can be synchronized to Tap Tempo. For clock synchronization there are five divisions: 1/1 3/4 1/2 1/3 1/4.
Global pitch controls
The IMPLEXUS has a global pitch control section offering control over glide rate and pitch envelope amount. There is a dedicated vibrato LFO with manual control over amount and frequency.
Syncable LFO's
The IMPLEXUS has two LFO's with a variety of waveforms and multiple modulation destinations. The LFO's offer a wide range of 0.01 - 100Hz and can be BPM synced to MIDI and external clock. The LFO's can also be synchronized to Tap Tempo and can even be set in five different divisions.
Connections
The IMPLEXUS offers a 1/4" stereo balanced output. In addition to that there is a stereo headphone output with dedicated volume control.
There is standard MIDI input and thru over DIN and USB. Also there is a eurorack compatible patchbay on the back. This extends the sound and modulation possibilities of the IMPLEXUS even more!
Built in VCO tuner
There is a strobe tuner with 3 LED's on board, which lets you tune both the Complex and the Basic generator to a perfect "A" within just a couple of seconds.

Digital magnetic synthesiser inspired by the theremin
Notes: Flux brings forth the musicality and expression of classical instruments, such as violin or vocals, enriched by new timbres and the flexibility of postmodern instruments, harnessing the power of current technology. It is a high end professional synthesizer with unique expressive possibilities, an innovative interface design with top quality digital-to-analog converters and analog components.
Flux features a unique continual touchless keyboard that offers seamless control over a number of sound parameters without quantisation. In many ways, it is inspired by the Theremin, offering the unique opportunity of controlling sound by moving your hands in the air without touching any object.
Unlike the Theremin - which works by virtue of the capacitive coupling of hands and antennae - Flux is based on magnetic principles. Two magnetic bows are pressed between your fingers, and the interface is a multipolar magnetic sensor, registering the bows' positions and movements. The X coordinate of the artist's right-hand bow controls the note's pitch, while the Z coordinate controls volume. The left-hand bow's X, Y and Z coordinates control the various synthesis parameters. Since a magnet has two poles, Flux not only detects the bows' spatial coordinates, but also the bows' angle. This means that flipping the right-hand bow on the Y-axis changes the octave, which allows a range of six continuous octaves without transposing the keyboard. With transposition you can get a range from sub-bass all the way to ultrasonic. The left-right tilting of the right-hand bow on the X-axis controls two independent modulation parameters.
The left-hand bow controls the timbres. The timbral sensor, placed in the left part, has six poles, and independently registers positive and negative magnetic fields. This lets you change which parameters you control by flipping the bow, allowing you to control up to twelve independent sound parameters. Together with the pitch, volume and two additional tilt parameters on the right-hand bow, you have access to a total of sixteen sonic controls that you can use during performance, without ever touching the surface of the instrument.
Summing up the concept of Flux: the most direct and immediate way to play with a large number of synthesis parameters in a musical way, creating a dynamic timbre composition. Different synthesis algorithms (engines) will be created as complete musical instruments for direct timbral control. All engines will be available in a single firmware and any engine can be launched in a fraction of a second. Presets will allow the user to save and recall the entire state of the synth including engine and all tunings.
SoMa Laboratory developed Flux with the aim to create a modern instrument for academic music, offering powerful sonic tools such as distortion, complex FM and physical modelling of non-existent, surrealistic musical instruments. It works in monophonic, duophonic and polyphonic modes. Staccato-enabling and quantisation modes are available. The quantization function has an adjustment parameter for vibrato. Flux has a stable, even, and clearly marked note scale. This makes it much easier to learn and to intone cleanly than on the Theremin.
Flux's synthesis is DSP-based. It features built-in spatial FX. The digital-to-analog converters and the analog circuit are based on our in-house designs using Hi-End principles
Analogue drone/noise synthesiser with four oscillators
Notes: The UNVO-1b powered by a centre negative DC 9V adapter or a single 9V battery.
It also contains two VCOs (oscillators) with a wide range.
The frequency and waveform of the SUB oscillator are changed, and they are input to the main, respectively. Each of them has a range switch, so it works like an LFO under the switch. The colour of the range switch (white, black) corresponds to the colour of the SUB.1 and SUB.2 on-off switches next to the FREQ knob of the main oscillator.
When the WAVE switch is turned on, the WAVE knob is activated, and the SUB OSCILLATOR.1 and 2 are shaken.
The main VCO×2 is mixed and fed into the strain + filter circuit. This special filter has a FREQ knob and a TUNE knob. The TUNE knob powerfully amplifies the input signal while also tracking specific pronunciations.
The filter is a circuit that has been fine-tuned so that it can very effectively enhance the bass and treble of this input signal.
Unlike other switches, the noise-on switch moves sideways, left (VCO.1), middle (OFF), and right (VCO.2). They are populated in VCO.1 and 2, respectively.
The UNVO-1b is a noise machine that can output a very strong signal that generates a variety of noise sounds.
The black painted aluminium die-cast case is painted with a black matte paint with a laser and scraped to make letters.
This analogue synth runs on DC9V negative centre or a 9V battery.
The main 2 VCOs can receive 2 oscillators and noise generator inside and go to 2 different filters.
2 oscillators can be tuned with each two FREQ. knobs and controlled with the wave knob.
RED switch is for wave knob working.
Black and White for tone of oscillators

An evolution of the monophonic Typhon synth concept, the Artemis applies similar interface design to a six-voice analogue synth module with Sinevibes digital effects. Lots of power and typically classy Dreadbox sound.
Supplier's Notes:
Artemis is a unique analogue polysynth with a UI inspired by Dreadbox's award-winning Typhon synthesizer. It builds on Typhon's innovative concepts, adding six voices of polyphony, powerful modulation capabilities, stereo FX, voice spreading, and much more!
From classic polysynth tones to aggressive modern sounds and everything in between, Artemis has a wealth of raw synthesis and modulation capabilities to explore.
At its core, Artemis features a fully analogue architecture, based on the smart oscillator implementation found in both the Typhon and the Murmux Adept, allowing effortless transitions between multiple waveforms, mix settings, glide, FM, and more.
These VCOs are paired with Dreadbox's signature filter topology, offering classic 12dB or 24dB per octave low-pass modes, as well as a standalone resonant high-pass filter. The low-pass filter includes dedicated filter frequency FM control for dialling in edgier, modern tones.
Two multi-mode LFOs enhance the modulation possibilities: LFO 1 offers a unique fade-in parameter, while LFO 2 includes XMOD (cross-modulation) control for chaotic, brash textures. Each LFO has multiple waveforms and can modulate pitch, filter cutoff, VCO waveform, pulse width, and more.
This analogue powerhouse is complemented by a suite of world-class FX from Sinevibes, who previously collaborated with Dreadbox on Typhon's FX. With reverb, delay, modulation effects, master distortion, and more, Artemis delivers an extra dimension to your sounds.
A noisy analog desktop synth that features a VCO and Sub VCO for deep distortions and hellish soundscapes
Notes: JMT have designed a very complex interplay between the two oscillators, using two different oscillator circuits with different circuit configurations, and two different waveform conversion circuits attached to each. The output is then routed through a circuit that was developed from the SNB-2b, which emphasizes and distorts the bass, mids, and treble, and which have been tuned to work well with this oscillator.
Fine-tuning of circuit part values was performed to obtain a sound with depth as well as intense distortion by fine-tuning the knobs.
This runs on DC 9V negative center or a 9v battery.
Noisy analogue synthesizer oscillator with distortion function that can emphasize HI, MID, and LO.
The oscillator can be input to a VCO with a wide range and a SUB VCO adjustable by LEVEL.
The VCO and SUB VCO are designed to affect each other in complex ways, so a wide range of sounds can be created by subtle combinations of knob positions.
The MODE switch makes the connection between the SUB VCO and VCO more complex, and the LEVEL knob can be used to adjust the level of the SUB input to create different waveform changes.
By fine-tuning the LEVEL, SUB, VCO knob, you can create a variety of sounds by emphasizing high, mid, and low frequencies.
8-voice 4-operator frequency modulator analogue synthesiser
Notes: A year ago, Jomox brought out the Mod FM as a eurorack module.
Now, Jomox present almost the same synth, but as a desktop unit, with its own PSU, Midi, standard 1/4" balanced outputs and analogue volume control.
The Mod FM D has an analogue side chain stereo input that gets routed into the Mod FM D effects, and can be mixed to the synth.
The ratio of synth + input/effects can be controlled via an analogue dry/wet potentiometer.
The Mod FM D is a completely self-contained 8 voice FM synth in desktop format, which can create powerful sounds out of the box without lacking the commonly provided CV modulation possibilities.
It provides 4 Operators and 2 LFOs/VCOs per voice. Additionally, it has 2 analogue filters and analogue VCAs per voice which apply analogue warmth and depth to the Mod FM D, although the FM engine is digital of course.
Each voice has its own CV/Gate inputs and an individual output. There is a mix output which separates even and odd voices. Here you can mix internal effects like delay and reverb to the stereo output signal.
Next to the CV/Gate control, the Mod FM D has Midi in and out and a USB C connector which handles Midi too.
Even without diving too much into complicated setups you can create extremely good sounding and metallic FM sounds, snappy bases but also soft and deep sounding analogue style sounds as tons of crazy weird stuff.
Furthermore, the Mod FM D offers a variety of external cv modulations in order to modulate each operator individually or control the FM envelopes.
The Mod FM D is fully multitimbral, i.e. each voice can play an own sound in Multi Mode which gets stored as a complete multi set (not only vectorized). That is, you can copy a single sound to the desired multi, but edits made on that particular multi get stored along with the multi set.
Hence, we have the biggest advantage of the hybrid approach:
Analogue and modular is great but can be very complex, and you might be trapped in a system where you never reach again the pretty sound of the latest session. Storability certainly helps.
The different sections in more detail:
Matrix FM:
4 operators are arranged in a matrix, in which every operator (= sine oscillator) can be modulated by each one of the other three.
The 16 endless potentiometers of the matrix adjust the modulation amount (FM amt) and the base frequency of the operators.
For each operator you can change the base frequency by the diagonal knobs.
There are several overtone modes that determine if one operator is controlled by the keynote (or CV) = base operator, or if it's locked in as overtone (= overtone operator) to the assigned base operator. For the base operator, the number resembles xxx semitones added to the keynote.
For the overtone operator, the adjusted number is the xxx = Nth overtone or harmonics to the base operator frequency.
The locked overtone operator tracks the base operator and is still able to modulate and being modulated.
Each operator has an ADSR envelope. This envelope can also be used to frequency-modulate the operator.
Algorithm:
The algorithms from the known FM synthesis are actually special cases to the whole matrix.
As it gets pretty quickly uncontrollable if you turn all the knobs due to the feedback, Jomox have decided to implement the algorithms. There are 26 algorithms, that are derived from the DX9 with its 4 operators.
At this menu it's even possible to change the frequency mode of each operator to a fixed frequency that is edited in single Hz and which does not follow the keynote, but only modulation. That makes sense for e.g. percussive sounds.
LFO/VCO:
Each voice has 2 LFOs which can modulate either the frequency (FM) or the amplitude (AM) of an operator. Every LFO addresses 64 different wave forms that are displayed in the right OLED display.
There is another feature: each LFO can be switched into a VCO that covers the whole audio range. You can even mix it into the signal chain and it tracks to the keynote. The former LFO rate parameter turns into a detune parameter. That is, you can create classic sounding rectangle/sawtooth analogue basses or string pads - and much more of course.
Filter:
Each voice contains an analogue filter which is build up with the chip SSI2140 from Sound Semiconductor, which is an improved modern version of the old SSM2040, designed by Dave Rossum, and which had been used in Oberheim synths and the early SCI Prophet-5.
The filter has a classic 24dB output and a 12dB state-variable multimode-filter. The three basic characteristic outputs LP/BP/HP can be cross-faded continuously with one parameter called shape.
Both filter outputs 24dB/12dB can be mixed independently.
The ADSR for the filter is fast and cuts in very quick and directly, the resonance is well adjustable.
The filter section contains an own LFO for the cutoff which is independent from the digital sound engine and has also 64 waveforms.
The ADSR for the filter is fast and cuts in very quick and directly, the resonance is well adjustable.
The filter section contains an own LFO for the cutoff which is independent from the digital sound engine and has also 64 waveforms.
The VCA is a fast transistor-vca which is important for snappy sounds. The same transistor-vca is used in all Jomox drum products. Therefore the ModFM can be used as a rich source for technoid drums and percussions of any kind.
On the analogue voice board there is another sound source: Metal Noise. It can be mixed into the filter independently from the digital engine (= FM synth) and offers again an inexhaustible pool of weird sounds.
FX:
The Mod FM D also has an FX section added: reverb and 2x delay. These only work on the stereo mix output. The delay can be beat-synchronized via midi clock and offers a very short delay time in millisecond range. That gives you flanging and oil-can-like effects.
