スタジオ・モニター

Studio monitors are an essential for anyone looking to make music, allowing you to hear the music with a clarity and precision that standard hi-fi speakers and headphones can’t match. The best studio monitors are loud, clear and reliable. These days, almost all monitors are ‘active’ meaning they have amplifiers built in and you just need to connect the signal from your audio interface or mixer. It’s a matter of personal taste whether you prefer the sound of a flatter, more accurate monitor or one with a little bit more vibe and colour that engages you more in the creative process. Whichever way you prefer it, brands like PreSonus, Yamaha and Genelec offer a range of monitors at different sizes and price points. From beginner-friendly compact monitors for small studios, through to professional options, we’ve got something for everyone.

ESI uniK 05+ 5" Active Reference Studio Monitor (single)
Cat: 459147 Rel: 15 Jun 12

Active reference 5" studio monitor
Notes: The uniK 05+ is the result of extensive development work performed in Germany, defining a new quality level in its class. With its new 5" kevlar low frequency driver and a new custom engineered and powerful high frequency magnetostatic tweeter, the uniK 05+ offers many improvements over our successful uniK 05 and will easily become an important part of your studio setup with its clear and strong sound image.

What makes uniK 05+ unique?

The uniK 05+ studio monitor offers true full range quality with extended low end in a small case and an entirely new signal processing and amplifier unit with a perfect order low-z and low noise design. Mos-Fet Bi-amplification ensures a high slew-rate and fast setting, featuring true analog vintage sound processing with LC-like gyrator technology for a stressless and silky sound.

A completely new feature is the unique one knob sound character adjustment from smooth to bright, allowing you to change parameters for every room and preference. The additional high resolution High and Low switches add additional control. And of course the uniK 05+ studio monitor features a real precision gain attenuator, instead of a simple volume control.

The new design of the crossover ensures an excellent phase response and safe power limitation, driving the woofer and tweeter in phase for optimal step response. The tweeter features a newly upgraded magnetostatic design with extremely low moving mass for extended frequency and fast transient response and high sound resolution. The matching woofer consists of a kevlar composite cone with high stiffness ensuring better piston motion and excellent low-end sound reproduction.

Another new feature is the flexible rubber feet with discrete height adjustment. They are not only helpful to reduce unwanted vibrations, but also allow you to tilt the speaker towards the precise listening point - a great feature for typical near field applications.

Other new special features that are not standard in this class are standby to save power consumption (can be disabled) and a ground lift switch.

And with it's copper color woofer cone and the high quality matte cabinet finish, it looks quite uniK, too!

Fluid Audio FX80 v2 8" Coaxial Studio Monitor (single)
Cat: 1030004 Rel: 04 Jul 24

Studio monitor with 8" coaxial driver
Notes: Introducing our new FX series of coaxial studio monitors.
Improving on our successful FX8, we now introduce the FX80. We have taken users feedback and improved on all points. We will claim this is the best sounding studio monitor below $250.
(WALL MOUNTABLE FOR DOLBY ATMOS SETUP)

Coaxial driver
Mounted in the center of the woofer is a 30mm silk dome tweeter in a coaxial configuration. Using this technology (unique in its price range) makes it a point source device, meaning that all the sound emanates from a single point - not points that are 10" apart. This is crucial for improving off-axis response, but also allows for a more compact footprint cabinet.
Other benefits using coaxial studio monitors are sound clartiy and imaging.

New, contoured baffle enclosure design
Keeping true to the original keyhole design, the FX enclosure has been updated with a complex radius front baffle, which not only looks pretty cool, it improves cabinet defraction.

Boundary compensation DIP switches
Sometimes the spaces where we mix aren't the most forgiving acoustically (especially if you're in a home studio).
The FX series monitors come equipped with boundary control EQ switches, that allow you to compensate for spaces that may not have been tuned or just need to be adjusted due to their proximity to the wall behind them. There is also a guide conveniently printed on the rear panel to show how the DIP switches work, and a more detailed explanation in the user guide.

Class D and DSP powered
The FX80 is a Class-D bi-amplified studio monitor.Class-D benefits are clean, reliable power, more headroom, less power consumption and heat.
We have a standalone powerful DSP integration. The digitally controlled crossover makes each speaker more consistent.
The new FX series is truly a 21st Century reference monitor at home in any recording studio.

LED indicator on front baffle
The illuminated LED on the front panel is not only a status indicator, displaying whether the FX monitor is on, off or in standby, but also acts as an alignment beacon which allows you to properly align your speakers to your ear level.

Is This The Most Cost Effective Dolby Atmos Speaker Solution?
Read what Pro Tools Expert think about the FX80 as your next monitors for full ATMOS setup, for smaller rooms FX80 can be combined with our FX50.

A Coaxial Monitor for the 21st Century
The Fluid Audio Coaxial speaker design is notably different from traditional coaxial designs. Coaxial studio monitors in the 50's and 60's placed the high frequency driver behind the woofer, porting the high frequency through the woofer's voice coil opening. This design effectively used the woofer's cone as the wave guide, or horn. Since the woofer's cone is constantly moving (sometimes dramatically as it plays bass frequencies), there is a significant amount of Intermodulation distortion and audible smearing that happens as the high frequency radiates off the woofer's cone.

The coaxial design of the Fluid Audio FX series places the high frequency device in front of the woofer, secured to a fixed post. The tweeter is mounted in a hard plastic wave guide that allows the high frequencies to flow uninterrupted, so there is no audio smearing from the woofer's movements. By using the on-board DSP, 48 and 36db per octave Linkwitz-Riley slopes not only perfectly blend the low and high frequencies, but are also used to filter out acoustic anomalies inherent in coax designs (as the tweeter does not have a full size baffle to radiate from.) In addition to these unique benefits, users get all the other known benefits of a coaxial driver Symmetrical off-axis response (which creates a bigger, more even and consistent sweet spot) and that of being a point source device, which allows better phase coherence between drivers resulting in extremely realistic imaging. Whether upright or laid on its side, the Fluid Coaxial design will perform identically making studio positioning easier and more user friendly.

Front-loaded slot port design
The bass-reflex slot port tunes the cabinet to maximize the bass output efficiency of the speaker. It is placed on the front panel not only to directly radiate the bass energy towards the listener, but also for flexibility of placement in your studio.

Updated Tweeter Grille protection
The FX coax design, with the tweeter suspended in the middle of the woofer, is very robust. As such, it provides outstanding protection for the woofer itself. However, the tweeter needs protection as well, this is why we added a small, steel perforated grille to protect the delicate silk diaphragm of the tweeter.

"Imaging and Depth"
It's one thing to put high quality speaker drivers in a cabinet with an amplifier and call it a great speaker. But for a transparent reference monitor, that is only the beginning.

Yamaha HS5 5" Powered Studio Monitor (single, black)
Cat: 491991 Rel: 22 May 13

Bass reflex nearfield studio monitor with 5" cone woofer and 1" dome tweeter
Notes: The babies of the Yamaha HS range pack a bigger punch than their size might suggest. A good entry-level option for smaller studios. Clear, revealing monitors at a friendly price.

Supplier's notes:
The Yamaha HS5 is a new addition to Yamaha's HS series of active monitors, influenced by the critically acclaimed and highly sought after NS-10 studio monitor speakers.

The Yamaha HS5 Active Studio Monitor features biamped full range 2 way speakers rated at 45W and 25W and has been developed by Yamaha to offer an exceptionally flat and accurate frequency response for use in music production and composition as well as home project studios. The HS5 monitors' design has been informed by the tradition of the legendary NS10M monitors.

Yamaha HS5 speakers feature a low resonance bass reflex enclosure which improves the rigidity of the overall speaker, and less cabinet resonance means that the signal remains clear and uncoloured. This is very important in getting an accurate mix which translates across all systems.

Port noise has also been audibly reduced by up to 6dB using the new Yamaha proprietary technology in the HS5 studio monitors, which also helps to deliver a clean and precise signal. The HS5 is equipped with XLR and TRS jack connectors as well as room control and hi trim response controls.
