Review: When it comes to colourful ambient records and sunset ready Balearic beats, Swiss producer/multi-instrumentalist Pablo Color has an excellent track record. Some of his best moments have come in cahoots with fellow artist Berlin Lama, who also guests on 'Les Claveles 36' - a gorgeously bright and sunny composition in which pin-sharp acoustic guitar motifs, reverb-laden electric guitar riffs and comforting chords rise above a shuffling samba groove. It's beautiful and life-affirming: a genuine slice of impeccable audio sunshine. Friend, and occasional collaborator, Alex "Lexx" Storrer provides the obligatory flipside remix, which strips back some of the guitars, adds tons of delay and reverb, and gives a bit more prominence to a tweaked, club-ready groove.

Review: More nylon string charm offensive from Swiss based Latin American master guitarist Pablo Color following his Ish debut last year the "Viajando" EP. A full album of Balearic bliss, each instrumental tells a traditional tale with a little added contemporary magic. The flip perspectives on "Parasol" ease us through the most calming hours of the day, the title track ebbs and flows like its title suggests as cymbal splashes crash against the shore while "Waves" moves us with the swell of an alluring ambient tide. Romantic, warm and emotional, Pablo Color's just officially extended your summer. Thank him later.

Review: This is a very confident debut from previously unheralded Balearic musician Pablo Color, whose music - on this evidence, at least - is as vibrant as his musical moniker suggests. The Swiss producer begins with the warm and atmospheric "Viajando", where echo-laden electric guitar motifs rise above a gently shuffling dub disco groove. "The Sunset of Puerto Sagunto" sees him sliding into Jonny Nash style ambient territory, while "The Guitar & The Sea" is a crackling, intoxicating, bongo-driven weird-out that sounds like an unlikely hook up between Black Merlin and Mudd. The EP is completed by a fantastic deep space dub of "Viajando" by Kejeblos (with support from Lexx on keyboards). Impressive stuff, all told.
