Review: Detroit mainstays Drivetrain and Blaktony are next up on Soiree with some high-octane but soul-infused machine music, while Funtom and Hughes Giboulay appear on the flip side. Drivetrain gets to work with the jerking loops and turbocharged chords of 'Hyperlock' while Blaktony's 'Butt Naked' sinks into a deeper late-night and more dubbed-out house vibe. Funtom's 'Wisdom' brings a great lightness of touch in the wispy pads and scuffed-up drum patterns, then 'Kickin That Feelin' has a more exuberant but still deep feel with subtle chord joy and deft acid.

Review: The third release on Brussels-based Nightflight Records includes tracks from Mystic Future aka Yannick Robyns & Charlie Levan, who return to business after some impressive tracks on the label's last instalment. This time around, they serve up the neon-lit breakbeat action of "Physical Chemistry" which receives a deep and emotive remix by UK legend Aubrey, followed by the loved-up acid mood music of "Distant Memory" on the flip. Elsewhere, Hughes Giboulay (Soiree Records) delivers some good old fashioned hi-tech soul that takes its cues from the Motor City, on the rather predictably titled "Soiree (A Night In Marseille)".
