Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro MKII Open Back Premium Tesla Studio Headphones (B-STOCK)
Cat: 1085256 Rel: 01 Jan 90

B-STOCK: Box opened, product in perfect working order
Notes: ***B-STOCK: Box opened, product in perfect working order***

Upgraded second-generation version of the high-end DT 1990 features improved sound, increased comfort and top quality sound, all based around the new generation Tesla 45mm driver.

Supplier's Notes:
DT 1990 PRO MKII - the evolution of a studio legend

The DT 1990 PRO MKII open-back studio headphones are the second generation of the popular premium model. They boast improved sound, increased comfort and industry-leading workmanship made in Germany. At the heart is the newly developed TESLA.45 driver technology. Suitable for mixing, mastering and editing, they are the perfect choice for discerning users who want to take their tracks to the next level.

The open-back reference

Thanks to their open-back design, the DT 1990 PRO MKII offers a natural, spatial sound pattern, which makes them ideal for professional mixing, mastering and editing.

The new generation of TESLA technology

TESLA.45

The DT 1990 PRO MKII feature the latest generation of TESLA driver technology TESLA.45. Redesigned from the ground up, the 45mm driver system boasts an excellent resolution, extremely low distortion and outstanding impulse behaviour. The TESLA.45 provides signal fidelity even at high volumes. Beyerdynamic's engineers have managed to combine studio-sound and flexibility thanks to weight-optimized materials. The DT 1990 PRO MKII has an impedance of 30 ohms, which means that the studio headphones can be used with a variety of end devices.

When it comes to sound, the reference headphones boast precise bass response right down to the lowest octaves. The slightly reduced highs compared to the previous model offer a high amount of information and help to avoid wrong decisions when mixing. Thanks to the wide soundstage, instruments and voices can be precisely pinpointed.

The sound transducers are manufactured at the company headquarters in Heilbronn, Germany. Each DT 1990 PRO MKII contains two TESLA.45 sound transducers, which are measured several times during the various production steps.

Maximum comfort

The DT 1990 PRO MKII is designed for several hours of use in the studio and offers outstanding comfort. The robust, flexible spring steel headband design ensures optimum contact pressure. Thanks to the skin-friendly velour ear pads, the headphones are comfortable to wear even during long sessions. The headband, consisting of soft memory foam and durable leatherette, adapts perfectly to the shape of the head. And thanks to the fontanelle recess, potentially pain-sensitive areas on the head are avoided. Both the headband and the ear pads can be replaced if necessary.

Two sound signatures

Designed to maximise flexibility, the DT 1990 PRO MKII is supplied with two different types of ear pads. The 'Producing Velours' fitted as standard deliver a full sound thanks to a slight bass boost. The 'Mixing & Mastering Velours' offer a more analytical sound. Two cables are also included: a 3m straight cable and a 5m coiled cable. Both cables have a lockable 3-pin mini-XLR plug. Everything is safely stored in a high-quality hard case.

Industry-leading workmanship

Thanks to German manufacturing expertise, the DT 1990 PRO MKII sets the benchmark in workmanship and durability. The TESLA.45 driver systems are measured within tight tolerances several times during production. High-quality materials such as anodised metal and hard-wearing plastics make the DT 1990 PRO MKII a long-term investment. In the interest of sustainability, almost every part of the premium headphones can be replaced.

DJ Tech Tools Chroma 128GB Dual USB-A & USB-C Drive (space grey)
Cat: 1084081 Rel: 15 Apr 25

The Chroma USB Drive is a 128GB dual USB-A and USB-C drive designed specifically for DJs
Notes: Space grey version of the specially designed Chroma USB drive from DJ Tech Tools. Optimised for DJ use, the Chroma offers USB-C and USB-A connections to ensure fast performance and compatibility with both Denon and Pioneer players.

Supplier's Notes:
The Chroma USB Drive is a 128GB dual USB-A and USB-C drive designed specifically for DJs.

This drive has especially-chosen USB 3.2 memory, enabling fast library syncing on Rekordbox and Engine (sync in seconds, not painful hours).

Optimized for pro use, the Chroma Drive went through rigorous testing across Pioneer DJ and Denon DJ gear.

It's incredibly reliable for long gigs and harsh conditions. Sync faster, perform smoother, and never worry about adapters again!

Sync in seconds, not hours

Have you ever waited an hour for just 100 songs to upload to your USB from Rekordbox? It's not optimized for DJing. Rarely advertised on USB drives are the actual read and write speeds for DJ-style transfers. Most USB drives have memory not designed to update lots of little files quickly (metadata, cues, songs, analysis data, etc), but better at single/big files (i.e: a large single video file). DJs libraries aren't single files - they're lots of different files that have to be checked, updated, and then added to - all done concurrently.

Tested by DJs for thousands of hours

We've tested these with 350+ hour (two week) marathon DJ sets, using drives on all Pioneer DJ and Denon DJ all-in-ones and media players (CDJs), heavy media recording (DJ sets, 4k ProRes video), Stressdisk testing to ensure the memory has a long use life, high dust / high heat environments in the middle of the Black Rock Desert, heavy repeated plugging/unplugging (500+ times) to simulate long-term wear on the connectors.

Maximum DJ gear compatibility

The drive comes pre-formatted as FAT32. Yes, some newer DJ gear can work with ExFAT and HFS drive formats, but for maximum compatibility with all DJ gear, even just 3-4 year old units, FAT32 makes the most sense. For best results, this means you should leave 10-15% of the drive free to avoid library corruption.

Works with as many pieces of DJ gear as possible out of the box:

The drive comes pre-formatted as FAT32. Yes, some newer DJ gear can work with ExFAT and HFS drive formats, but for maximum compatibility with all DJ gear, even just 3-4 year old units, FAT32 makes the most sense. The only major limitation is that you cannot copy over files larger than 4 GB onto these drives. So if you want to have a very long lossless set stored on your drive, or use it to copy other types of media, you can reformat it easily. We recommend keeping all of your DJ drives FAT32 to make sure that older firmwares and gear all work seamlessly for your future.

Works with:

XDJ-AZ
XDJ-XZ
XDJ-RX, RX2, RX3, RR
Opus QUAD, OMNIS Duo
CDJ-3000, CDJ-2000/NXS/NXS2
XDJ-1000/MK2
Prime GO, Prime 2, Prime 4, plus the plus models
SC5000, SC6000, plus the M models
Honestly, pretty much any DJ device made in the last two decades that uses a USB port on it and can accept FAT32 formatted drives

Tech Specs
High speed USB flash memory designed for rapid-transfer of many smaller files
USB 3.2 Gen 1 (with memory that performs well at lots of rapid small file updates and read/writes like in Rekordbox syncing)
Quality metal alloy build
Engraved with DJ TechTools logo on one side. The other side is blank, but can be customized

JMT Synth NDE-1 Analogue Desktop Synthesiser
JMT Synth NDE-1 Analogue Desktop Synthesiser (analogue desktop synthesiser)
Cat: 1060994 Rel: 14 Apr 25

Analogue synthesiser capable of a wide range of sounds
Notes: Quirky synth fun from JMT, the NDE-1 is based around two oscillators, sample and hold, noise generator and a four-pole low-pass filter. Generate random tones, control via a sequencer or process external audio.

Supplier's Notes:
This model consists of two VCOs (oscillators), SAMPLE & HOLD, noise generator, low-pass filter, LFO, VCA, and envelope generator to create a powerful sound.

By itself, a wide range of sounds can be created, including random and regular intermittent sounds, mute timing, and fine-tuning of levels.

If you input sounds from other equipment through the A IN, you can apply a variety of filters, LFOs that oscillate the filters, and mutes to the input sounds in parallel with the built-in oscillator.

The variable range is wide enough to produce a variety of sounds. The filter is a 4-pole filter that works very smoothly, and external audio can be input via A IN.

You can also use it with a sequencer to create even more sounds.

CV INPUTs can accept - + 9V. Do not exceed this voltage.

The adapter is not included.

Please use centre negative 9V POWER SUPPLY or A 9V battery.

Teenage Engineering OP-1 Field & EP-133 KO II Bundle
Cat: 1084496 Rel: 14 Apr 25

Bundle consisting of the OP-1 Field synthesiser and EP-133 KO II sampler/sequencer.
Notes: The best of both worlds, offering a nice saving over buying both separately: the iconic OP-1 Field synth/sequencer/sampler combines with the super fun EP-133 KO II sampler to make a creative combo.

Supplier's Notes:
A bundle from Teenage Engineering consisting of their OP-1 Field synthesiser and EP-133 KO II sampler/sequencer.

OP-1 FIELD SYNTHESISER

Injected with more than a decade of ideas, refinements and improvements. Just to mention a few: stereo throughout the whole signal chain, Bluetooth MIDI, USB type-C, a new speaker system with a passive driver for detailed, fat and loud sound, a massive 24 hour battery life, multiple tapes and recording formats, new great sounding reverb and the 'dimension' synth engine, an all glass, flush, high resolution display. The graphics have also been meticulously reworked, screen by screen.
.
Think of OP-1 field as the natural continuation of its predecessor. Updated with the latest technology, improved design and finely tuned with professional musicians, recording artists and sound designers in mind. Higher quality in all aspects, from its circuitry to connectivity and flexibility, it's tailor made for professionals in the field. The new stereo sample engine is just one of the features that takes the OP-1 field to a higher level. With increased sampling time up to 20 seconds and dual layer mode for instant mixing of the a and b channels or via an assigned LFO.

Four new recording formats: Studio 4-track, vintage 4-track, porta and disc mini. All with their own unique characteristics and graphics. Now with multiple tapes or discs, up to 8 in total.

If it feels thinner, it is. By lowering the aluminium body around the keyboard, the new OP-1 field feels lighter, thinner and more precise. with 2k moulding Teenage Engineering have also managed to fit a dual 2.4 GHz antenna system inside the aluminium body.

The back is warm, velcro and bass. Two soft velcro rings have been added on the back for fastening covers and accessories. Perhaps you want to stick your op-1 field on top of your full size keyboard, or slap it on a guitar? Use the included adhesive looped back and start experimenting. On the right you'll find an additional passive loudspeaker for hugely improved bass. And for a 'no-more-cold-metal-on-your-lap' experience, the aluminium body has been folded in a warm, soft touch, hard cover.

The first accessory out using the velcro rings is the Bill Amberg leather wrap that attaches to the back and wraps around the op-1 field and locks around the encoders.

EP-133 KO II AUDIO SAMPLER/SEQUENCER/COMPOSER

Meet the next evolution of the world's most sold sampler. Based on the legendary PO-33 K.O!, the new EP-133 K.O. II adds more power, more sampling capabilities, a fully reworked sequencer and brand new punch-in 2.0 effects. Introducing a workflow that lets you go from idea to track faster than ever. It's pocket operators gone pro. A versatile machine with an impressive set of features, K.O. II is the new champion in and outside the studio. Unrivaled by anything in its class, this is the sampler you've always wanted.

Record sounds around you, sample your voice, favorite synths, vinyl records or whatever audio that you've got on your phone. Sequence your samples and loops. Make use of the curated selection of drums, bass and keys that come pre-loaded on your K.O. II. Tweak and automate things like filter, pitch and more... add stereo effects, compressor and next generation punch-in effects.

The sequencer engine of the K.O. II provides an intuitive, fast way of building up beats and variations using 4 groups x 12 patterns. Review: This tastemade, disco edited chef's special comes courtesy of AFIN, guest cook in the Frank Music kitchen. Over three sharply, perspicuously produced disco recuts, we're pelleted by a no less wet hosedown in hard disco, with 'Disko Inferno' introducing the proceedings with peak-time heat, before 'The Beloved' grooves yonder with feel-good charm, and 'Body Rock' ex-ergises our bodies with an irresistible vocal touch. Birbs And Planties help pave downlow slabs of golden bass, locking the rhythm down. This vinyl-only release won't last long, so grab a copy, and get boinging in time for spring...

Househeads In Full Effect (11:46)
Review: Phoenix man Eddie Amador is synonymous with one track more than any other artist in the game. He wrote 'House Music' in 1997 and it soon became a club anthem that has endured over the years. Now, decades on, he is back with a follow-up of sorts in the form of 'House Music Dos (Doin' It House Style.' The lyrics from the original, "not everyone understands house music, it's a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing," still hold true and fragments of that tune appear here next to fresh funky drums and gritty chords. 'Househeads In Full Effect' has a darker vocal that infuses low-slung drums and a funny bassline with real menace.

Review: This is the first in a new collaborative series between Derailed Records and Planet Rhythm who have teamed up for a new vinyl series that launches with Rotterdam's ARKVS. 'Sonus' rumbles with low-end threat and fizzy static that locks you in the moment. 'Deviate (feat Ronald Nels)' is more sparse with claps echoing out to an event horizon as supple acid tones linger in the air. 'Amphibian Velocity' layers up gurgling synths and pent-up drum tension and 'Crashing Rhythms' is a punchy but deep closer and a fourth and final evocative and sophisticated offering which gets this series underway in style.

Review: Blackwater Holylight sacrifice their latest EP 'If You Only Knew' to the Suicide Squeeze gods, providing an intermezzo of cosmos and sludge. A chthonic dark psych explosion if we've ever heard one, we hear metal, shoegaze, and psychedelia culminate to an iconoclastic crunch point, as strange auraic statues of Cthulhu shatter before our eyes, evoking the god beast in actuality, not just representation. Lead track 'Wandering Lost' hears the band tear up constellate skies, as producer Sonni DiPerri shapes the track's many shifting structural tides, evoking the many emotional turmoils and stretching-thins of life; Sunny Faris (vocals, guitar, bass) further emphasises its point, that is, to embrace the inequitable unknown.

West London label Slip 'N' Slide continues to refresh the classics, as Seth Troxler and Franck Roger deliver remixes of the 1997 Blaze favourite 'Lovelee Dae'. An artist who needs little introduction, Seth Troxler's name is synonymous with American house and techno of the last two decades, with his formative years in Detroit shaping his sound before moving to the techno capital of the world Berlin. His ventures as a label boss, and club owner of Night Tales, further cemented the talent as an underground hero, and he now joins the likes of Carl Craig, Roman Flugel, and Isolee in giving 'Lovelee Dae' an expertly crafted remix, building from minimal grooves to a grand and immersive wash of sound. Also stepping up on remix duties comes Parisian producer, crate digger and label boss of Real Tone Records, Franck Roger, adding his signature beat focussed approach to the iconic track.

Review: Analogue pressure from Bufobufo, who stops over in Japan for Cabaret Recordings after earlier international stints with Art Of Dark, Partout and Furthur Electronix. His second single for the label, founded by So Inagawa and DJ Masda, proffers a hypnotic blend, binarising the mood with the sliding melodes of 'Watercourse' and 'Armour Plated' with comparatively sparse and gritty perc-slaps of 'Wood Ant' and 'Cinnabar'. That strange but difficult-to-nail split between of hypnotic intrigue and immediacy is well and truly nailed.

Review: Evergreen house master Kerri Chandler digs back into the vault for 'Lost & Found Vol. 4', the latest instalment in his archive series on Kaoz Theory. A genuine house pioneer, he continues to shape the genre while staying mighty true to the scene's roots. And it's fair to say there aren't many out there making more authentic house music than this veteran US producer. Vol. 4 unearths more hidden gems, including 'Since I Met You' featuring the late Michael Watford, the piano-laced joyride of 'Grandiose Garden' by Alopeke, and the brooding soul of 'Circles' featuring Natalia. Closing things out is 'The Dark One', a deep and driving cut built for the floor, with its dramatic string stabs and searing synths.

Review: Menacing EBM and dark synth billows from a Netherlands hinterland; our heralds speak of an esoteric encampment by the name of Espectro Oculto, said to be the remote incantators of an unstoppable curse in sound. Six shadowy emissaries have been sent to spread the pestilence; Trenton Chase, Martial Canterel, DJ Nephil, Exhausted Modern, Fragedis and Happy707. Clearly, the faction have recruited only the best, trusted and yet most nefarious of spies from as far-flung regions as Czechia and Argentina in the administering of such a sordid sonic plague. We're left most quivery at the centrifugal doom drones of Exhausted Modern's 'Fear Of Focus', across whose breakdown banshees are heard wailing and snarling, and Fragedis' 'Landing In Reality', a lo-fi techno freakout and sonochemical anomaly, channeling militant two-way radio samples and hellish FM synthesis.

Dimelo (Busy Twist remix) (3:25)
Review: Blending hi-NRG and Latin cumbia, Combo Chimbita present a brand new single for Wonderwheel Recordings, 'Dimelo'. Described as an internal dialogue - a sonic representation of what it feels and sounds like to choose yourself - the refrain "Cuando por fin yo me elegi" is heard repeatedly throughout the track, as self-selection is maximised, contra the impossibility of saving others before oneself. The band's Carolina Oliveros says of the song, "however much you love someone, you can't force them to love yourself in the same way - that is love you have to give yourself." The Busy Twist remixes the idea, self-caring through salvos of oily guitar and toe-tapping woodblock shot, hitting like a health kick.

Review: Groove Culture enlist Italy's Da Lukas for a stinging string-disco propeller, 'Doin' Me Wrong', backed up on the B by 'Good Man'. Massive pressure-house feels coincide with the trilling afterglow of disco, as rock-bottom breakdowns prefigure high-as-a-kite apexes, word-painting the A track's lyrical focus on manic depressive push-pull relationships ("you tell me don't do this, you tell me don't do that"). The B-side track is weightier by comparison, deploying waterier wahs and an echo of Motown in its otherwise relentless garagey swing.

Pergo - "Lume" (5:35)
Review: Drei Vinyl launched back in 2023 and has slowly but surely amassed a respectable catalogue of various artists' releases. This sixth outing is the most straight-up techno offering yet and it opens with one of Spain's finest in Eduardo De La Calle. 'Deva5Vyasa' is heady and otherworld loop techno perfection with synth daubs and conscious vocals peppering the rubbery kicks. DJ Shufflemaster brings more texture to the raw, percussive madness of 'Axiom' and Tensal layers up unsettling and anxious synth murmurs with rising drum tension on 'Thermal Cycler.' Pergo's 'Lume' is a brash, industrial closer full of urgency.

It's a speedy and supple techno pile-driver with euphoric chords sure to elevate the 'floor. '8 AM' is much more mechanical and industrial with unrelenting drums and textured hooks peeling off the beats. 'Dissociation' in original form is a classic bit of soulful hi-tek Motor City goodness and 'Error' closes with some raved up synth madness and super-sized hi hats.

Review: Originally released for LNS & DJ Sotofett's Japan Tour 2024, this 12" now sees a global repress and it is a fittingly chaotic sonic postcard from the road with unpolished, playful and strictly for the heads cuts. Kicking things off, Tokyo's DJ Gizzard delivers 'Jitter Analysis', which is a tight blend of analogue funk, crisp grooves and rolling basslines. LNS & DJ Sotofett follow with the cosmic 'Electrolium' with its whistling synths and spaced-out, vintage-style rhythms. Review: OGE hits release number 19 with a delectable new bap from DJ Sandwich, layering sweet programmable piano cheeses and cornichons between tricky, seeded deep tech sourdough slices. It's the first release by the artist for the otherwise usually "unknown artistic" moniker, through which the likes of Funk E, Vincentlulian, Phillip Boss and Giralda have also bared their identities. Best here has to be the low-filled 'Lee', whose sequent synth pianos, rubber resinous basses and splashy snares hint at a materially informed approach to dance production, emphasising raw organics and recalling the works of Bambooman.

Doc Martin and Joeski are long-time house royalty and they open up here with 'Join Hands' which is low-slung tech with rolling drums and some majestic piano chords that light up things with real emotion next to a passionate vocal. 'It's Time' pairs things back and allows a nice live-sounding and funky bassline to shine under percussive drums and 'Roots' has more swing to it as organic sound effects and crunchy snares all add detail.

Edward - "Tentacle" (7:09)
Trybet - "Moodsetter" (Edward remix) (7:22)
Edward - "Dr Octo" (7:35)
Review: Astonishingly, 18 years has now passed since Gilles Aiken - probably more celebrated these days for his work under the alternate Desert Sky alias - first offered up off-kilter tech-house tracks as Edward. Last year, he impressed with a wonderfully deep and unctuous EP on deep house imprint Smallville; here, he makes his bow on another must-check label, Kalahari Oyster Cult. In keeping with the imprint's love of all things trippy and otherworldly, opener 'Tentacle' sees him wrap chiming lead lines, psychedelic synth motifs, weird noises and layers of percussion to a chunky, locked-in house groove. Aiken then goes off piste via a skewed, druggy and at times dreamy tech-house remix of Trybet's 'Moodsetter'. Arguably best of all though is impossible-to-pigeonhole flip-side 'Dr Octo', which is immersive, unsettling, tactile and eccentric in equal measure.

Review: Since emerging from Thessaloniki's underbelly in the mid-2010s, Endlec has carved out a reputation for punishing, no-frills techno rooted in the discipline of the 90s. A regular on Mord and MindTrip, he's long been a reliable source of dancefloor artilleryibut this one marks a shift. Self-released on his Renegade Methodz imprint, this debut album spans a full decade of experience, pulling together tracks made between late 2023 and October 2024. 'Omicron' and 'Clockmaker' are classic Endlecirelentless and tactileiwhile 'Sunday To Monday' and 'In Negative' draw from a deeper well, brushing up against melody and restraint. 'Mechanizer' grooves with mechanical tension, and 'No Return' rides a punishing loop without ever losing momentum. More refined than anything he's done before, it's a brutalist record with emotional depth, capturing an artist at a point of hard-won maturity.

The Etat Cru duo of Olszewski and Pawlescu kick off with the wire and sinewy synths and tech house pomp of 'Jasmina' then Jerry M offers two cuts. 'Gutek' is a nice spaced-out tech cruiser with flashy astral pads and 'Gondin' rides on well-designed breakbeats with an old-school bassline. Robsessive's 'Look After You' is a deeper, dubber, grittier cut for late-night vibes and SIM ON's 'Brudas' is all glitchy and dystopian urban landscaping. Poland sure has plenty of talent based on this EP.

Inspired by early digi-era dancehall and UK dub, the duo crafts a sound here that honours tradition while venturing into bold, idiosyncratic territory. It comes on their own Digital Sting label and opens with 'Voyageur' which is a mix of cinematic atmospherics with haunting synths that evoke wild and mythic landscapes. 'Underground' pays tribute to the spirit of DIY underground music and captures the struggle to preserve both nature and the essence of basement gigs in today's shifting cultural landscape.

Following last winter's split EP, 'Sense 003' embraces a multi-artist approach, all the while further establishing Italy's baton-bearing role in deep techno. It comes now as a 7" with all the original cuts included. The opener is an old-school blend of raw beats, scratching and smart samples, 'Human Sucks' then pairs moody spoke words with eerie late-night boom-bap and 'Zattar' is a short beat interlude that oozes atmosphere. Review: Under a full moon to commemorate Portland's official holiday on their first Dead Moon Night, Mike Lastra recorded Michael Hurley play 'Jane' live at Portland City Hall in 2017. He performed, rather wittily, this cover of Portland Oregon Dead Moon's 1991 release to the most well attended non protest event in the history of the hall. Hurley, American "outsider folk" singer-songwriter, guitarist, banjo and fiddle player, and part of the Greenwich Village folk music scene of the 1960s and 70s is not only known for his iconoclastic songs, but also his cartoons and paintings, here illustrating the single's cover. The B Side 'Go My Way' features an unreleased Range Rats track from 1986 recorded at home by Fred Cole, Toody Cole and Rolly (their Roland drum machine), covered paradoxically by Portland's own Dead Moon in 2004, giving a comforting circularity to this limited 7" on Mississippi US, a label that prides itself in supporting artists and their families when crafting ethical and respectful releases of previously overlooked music. So, if you're into the Appalatian folk troubadour tradition with an undertone of irony that has a bluesy edge, you'll love this.

Introversion has released here before with his 'Hush' 12" back in 2022 and since then has landed on the likes of Fundaments and Makatoo, always adding to his reputation. This one opens with 'Laeddis', which is cantering, full-throttle techno funk with big, oversized hi-hats. 'Found Footage' is a scruffier cut with underlapping kicks and muffled trance chords up top, then 'Tesseract' gets slicke and turbocharged for a fresh future assault. 'Signs' closes with supple, mind-melting synth patterns that intertwine with wispy percussion and thudding rubber kick for pure techno perfection.

Review: To keep it in the family is to imply things stay pure and untainted, but the irony with the Keep It In The Family 12" series is that every record sounds raw and unsheltered. So, although 'Feel' and 'Move This Way' cycle through unperturbed and dreamatic sounds, their finish is rough, suggesting a well-wrought processing chain, the music having seen through many a prodigal battle. Review: Rindert Lammers' debut LP is a kaleidoscopic suite in five movements; pelican wingspans of twinkly, retentive but then also generous jazztronica, centring on two distinct themes: Japanese cinema and YouTube confessions. Japanese culture is seen through a grateful lens, as theatrical titans such as Kirin Kiki are homaged; the B1 especially is inspired by a poignant moment in the actor's portrayal of Hatsue Shibata in the 2018 film Shoplifters. Seemingly firstly inconsequential digital traces are lent an upscale gravitas, meanwhile, as a voice clip from a YouTube comment on an algorithmically boosted Hiroshi Yoshimura video evolves into the ride-embellished upswell 'Thank You Hiroshi Yoshimura'. Mastering the art of appreciation from afar, Lammers brings a mood of gobsmacked reverence for Japanese enviro jazz and its offshoots, suspending us over an endless realm of forms circa 1989.

Stadion Progg is a showcase of his algorithmic finesse, where probability-based sequencing drives hypnotic, shifting grooves that evolve in real-time. 'Pow' and 'Diff, Block Mix' weave dubby textures into pulsating frameworks, while 'Zipp Prompt' jolts forward with clipped vocal stabs and needle-sharp synths. The title track stretches into grand, propulsive territory, amplified further in Jean Redondo's remix, which adds extra layers of kinetic energy. The LDS process is equal parts engineering and intuitionimeticulously constructed yet alive with spontaneity. Stadion Progg is proof that machine-driven music doesn't have to feel mechanical; in the right hands, it moves with instinct.

Precise production defines his style with tight drum loops and a warped bassline drawing you in while alien effects add the detail. A standout is the Ki.Mi. remix of 'Humanity' which reimagines the original with an extra bump in the drums and dry, textured hits. 'Shadow Tree' is a shimmering melange of silvery snares and hits with loopy bassline phrases perfect for cosy club spaces. Review: Wow! Of all the melancholic modern disco we've come across this year, this has to be the best so far, though we're surprised its popularity hasn't metastasised in size since its original Rysque Records release back in 2013. Ben Johnson and Tim Tucker make up Love Cryme, and their works combine a localist Sacramento slapper sound and a hissing, reel-to-reel feel. Compared to their Star Creature debut which brought measured but still potent titrations of purple sizzurping G-funk, 'Get It On' goes for a more minimally classic disco-soul cruise, with a sloppily gated snare and two-tone tearjerker preluding a neurotic but decadent vocal line from Tucker, as libidinous synths swell out uncontrollably from below.

Rein-whipping the steed of techno to redirect it towards better representations for lesbian communities in dance music, 'She's Startin' and 'Unbearable Delight' are heard resurrecting forgotten, seventh-hell secrets on a furious A-side. Faustian pacts tempt us to indulge a diabolical knowledge, while Maara holds out hope for a sapphic world, extracting simmering, fluid desires against a background of staid complacency. Review: Three outsize rarities on Mr. G's very own Phoenix G imprint (operating since 1999). 'The Lost Tracks 1' hears the man-myth-legend rise from the mounded ashes of a deep house firestorm, where in classic "vaults" fashion, Mr G aka. Colin McBean presents tunes as though they were known sequels. Even so, 'Narcoticz Pt. 2' hardly recalls an original tune by the same name. It's almost as though there's a hidden universe of sound we're only tantalisingly being let in on... With G's driven but distillate deep house sound on fullest display here again, make sure to cop these muted rarities, as they're RSD exclusives and will surely dematerialise quick.

Out Of Control (6:05)
Out Of Control (Zap remix) (6:18)
Woo Woo (5:36)
Fractals (6:31)
Review: Nicole and Troy's latest collaboration sharpens their vision for Cath Records, the Berlin-based label they launched as a home for boundary-pushing techno. Their stripped-back but potent style thrives on precision, drawing from deep club lineage while keeping an eye on the future. 'Out Of Control' is a lean, tunnelling workout, its tension amplified by Z@p, the Uruguayan producer whose percussive, swing-heavy take on techno has earned him a cult following. His remix reshapes the track with a ghostly, skipping momentum. 'Woo Woo' flexes a rubbery, low-end groove, built for peak-time propulsion, while 'Fractals' twists through warped, off-kilter sequencing. A sharp, high-pressure release that reinforces the duo's deft touch.

Review: After a long a post-COVID quest to repurpose his music as a vessel for healing, Richard Norris (The Grid, Beyond The Wizards Sleeve) tops up the fourth edition of his oracular, thinking-man's-dub Oracle Sound series. Volume 4 describes its the nine dub versions as "outernational, widescreen versions", and if by widescreen Norris means the stereo field, then this is realised with abundant clarity on the outset that is 'Connected Dub', on which ample effects riffle across a club-readied plod, as a knowing gravel-voice suggests a paternal spirit guide keeping watch over the reels. 'Earthsea Dub' continues, nodding to Ursula Le Guin's fictive planet through sloshing water FX and ticklish 808s, while the three closing 'Ceefax' bits take teletext retro-nostalgia headspaces to the extreme. Jon Carter's Guest Mix is a special closing freakout, one that could convey itself well even over copper wire, never mind the now ubiquitous fibre-optic.

Review: Richard Norris loves a series. The former Grid man and noted psychedelic music afficionado has umpteen on the go at present, including ones dedicated to meditative ambient sounds ('Music For Healing') and modular experiments ('Abstractions'). Then there's his dub-wise and 'outernational' music series, Oracle Sound, which here reaches its fourth - and possibly strongest - instalment. Highlights are plentiful, from the languid and woozy head-nod of opener 'Connected Dub' and the intoxicating, flute-sporting musical mystery of 'Earthsea Dub', to the up-beat dancefloor dub of 'Maximum Dub', and the sub-heavy, near dub techno pulse of John Carter hook-up 'Ceefax'. That one also comes accompanied by alternative takes by both Norris and Carter.

Sifat Manusia (5:29)
Mang Becak (3:49)
Review: Back here by popular demand, Les Disques Bongo Joe presents a fresh 7" release from Amsterdam's Nusantara Beat featuring, for the first time on wax, the infectious digital single 'Mang Becak' alongside a brand new and unreleased track. Marking their third collaboration with the label, the band reimagines two treasures of Indonesian music and merges their traditional rhythms with a modern edge that masterfully bridges the past and present. 'Sifat Manusa' has Indonesian vocals bringing sunny disposition and real soul over funky and jazzy drums. 'Mang Becak' is a funky groove with plenty of guitars that range from psyched out to more playful.

Review: Originally released in 1990 as the follow-up to Chime, Orbital's 'Omen' EP cemented the duo's reputation for innovation in early electronica. Now freshly remastered for the Orbital LEDs series, this reissue captures the moment they expanded their sonic palette by fusing trance, house and unexpected elements like an ABC sample. Tracks like 'Omen,' 'Open Mind' and '2 Deep' alongside alternate versions 'The Fool' and 'The Tower' showcase their evolving vision with tunes that still bang. Overseen by Phil and Paul Hartnoll, the remaster preserves the EP's original impact with renewed clarity that reaffirms 'Omen' as a pivotal and forward-thinking release in their early catalogue.
