Unsurprisingly there have been a number of Pollen reviews using puns and symbolism to invoke the fact that Tennis formed as a duo while on a long sailing trip and have continued to forge their own route through musical world. We just did it again, and in all honesty didn't mean to. Whether it's a cliche or just nice way of putting things, it's resolutely true, as is the fact both members - Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley - like to have control over their output as much as image.
You can hear that in this sixth long-player. Even if you're not actually listening out for it. There's so much intricate detail hiding away behind the light and airy pop the record has armed itself to the teeth with. The result being a juxtaposition almost as thrilling as the sharp tongued lyrics - although those you really do need to pay attention for.
