Whatever you do, don't let the title fool you; despite suggesting a collection of funk breaks and other mixing tools, Slow Attack Ensemble present a strikingly crisp, spatial ode to the beauty of crystalline ambient keys, chimes and stardust that quickly draws you into its unique world on the lush, exotic layers of 'Form & Fade'.

One of the busier tracks here, melodic stabs creating a sense of rhythm framed by twinkling details, elsewhere it's a decidedly more minimalistic outing, for example 'Light Patterns' and its long loops of harmony, and 'Early Dawning', which sounds like a DJ Shadow-style soul sample turned inside out, stretched, dunked and left in a tank of water - you can sense there should be lots happening but it's murky and disorientating. An excellent place to get lost.
