Matt Edwards' recent Venti album, his first full-lenth as Radio Slave for four years, was undoubtedly a triumph. It was also stylistically varied, offering ample opportunities for adventurous remixers to make their mark on his material. That's the case here, as Solomun and CASSIMM rework their favourite cuts from the set. Diynamic founder Solomun steps up first, turning Fun Boy Three cover 'The Lunatics' into a fabulous spot of tech-house/indie-dance fusion complete with jangling guitars, effects-laden vocal phrases, bubbly electronics and locked-in beats. CASSIMM, meanwhile, handles Audion hook-up 'Mouth To Mouth' (itself a remake of Edwards' legendary early 2000s remix of the same track), re-framing it as a chunky, driving, bass-heavy and organ-rich peak-time pumper.
