Miki Matsubara's eighth album, which was first put out back in 1984, is a collection of jazz standards that reflect her musical roots. It is her only album exploring jazz with a voice that's deeper and more subdued than usual so shows her mature charm in a new light. Produced by saxophonist Jiro Inagaki and arranged by the renowned Norio Maeda, the album blends different musical formations including combo, big band and orchestra. This is the first analogue reissue and it comes on clear deep blue vinyl and is a great way to dive into Matsubara's captivating singing style as well as some real jazz heritage.
