Finnish techno producer turned synth fetishist Jori Hulkonnen and synthesizer legend John Foxx are old pals. Having first collaborated in 2005, they released a further EP in 2008. This third joint excursion is arguably their strongest collective work to date. In parts icy, moody and glacial, it joins the dots between Foxx's seminal early 1980s work, early Detroit techno and contemnporary electronica. Foxx's distinctive voice perfectly suits the duo's atmospheric, melancholic concoctions, leading to a string of notable cuts (see "Evangeline", "Strictly" and "Something is Coming Down The Avenues"). There's also a neat bonus in the form of two clandestine, intoxicating reworks from director-turned-producer David Lynch.
