After fine excursions from Iron Curtis and BLM & Pawas, Sudden Drop introduce the techno cognoscenti to the production talents of newcomer Bleak, who delivers two tracks of dark and long techno crispness. "Isolated" draws out a sleek dubby groove before dropping in tightly wound beats, with the attention to minute sonics impressing the most here. As the track progresses, distant swirls of kaleidoscopic noise come closer into focus, latching onto the intricately layered percussive elements with delightfully TECHNO results! On the flip, "Bold" sees Bleak in far moodier form, laying an array of heavily dubbed melancholic pads over a booming kick drum wrapped in fuzzed out bass. Again the attention to detail from a producer with such little production experience is what really impresses here.
