Synthesisers – or synths – are the fundamental building blocks of most electronic music. Whether analogue or digital, a hardware synth is any instrument which generates sound using electronic circuits. Most of the great synths are keyboards, but there are a lot more choices, including desktop modules and modular systems.
Our range includes old-school analogue synthesisers and reissues of vintage classics, plus the latest digital workstations, patchable semi-modular instruments and portable models suitable for live performance or making music on the go.
With such a wide variety of synths on offer, there’s something to suit everyone, from budget options for beginners through to premium models for pro studios. Brands like Arturia, Korg and Roland offer excellent value for money, while the likes of Moog and Waldorf offer some of the best high-end options for those who want something a little more advanced.

Legendary sound meets the generation of mobile musicians: With the reface Mobile Mini Keyboards, Yamaha introduces a small revolution. Based on legendary synthesizer models like the DX7 or CS series, the company presents four compact instruments, which play to their strengths on the road, on stage or even in the studio. reface is perfect for songwriters, sound designers, live performers and those looking for access to an instrument which allows them to react when inspiration strikes. The online collaboration with musicians around the globe via Yamaha's 'Soundmondo' sound community and the easy connection to notebook, Apple iPhone and iPad are making the four models ideal for being creative together. Battery power and integrated stereo-speakers make the reface quartet ready to play at all times.
From Pink Floyd to Michael Jackson to U2 - with over 40 years in synthesizer history, Yamaha influenced Rock and Pop music like no other instrument manufacturer. Legendary models and series like the CS Control Synthesizer or the DX7 are an inherent part of music history. Time for a small revolution: With the reface Mobile Mini Keyboards, Yamaha presents a range of ultra-mobile synthesizers and a stage-piano that impress with their compact design and web-based sound-exchange. They build the bridge between the sound tradition of the legendary prime fathers and the cooperative music production over the internet.
It started as a sketch of a young Yamaha design team: Under the concept name "reimagined interfaces of classic Yamaha keyboards" the group presented a series of four compact instruments, in which every single one celebrates the personality of a legendary Yamaha instrument - but with a character of its own reimagined for today's 'on-the-go life style'. The concept also integrates a web-based sound exchange between musicians and allows a cooperative sound design. With the introduction of reface, this vision becomes reality.
At home, in a studio, in a park or on a train - the compact design and the powerful integrated stereo speakers allow inspiration in seconds - without any equipment to set up. Creativity can be realised anywhere: Thanks to the battery power, all reface Mobile Mini Keyboards are ready at any time - even when there is no power socket nearby. The setup is done in seconds, even the connection to notebook, iPhone or iPad for the recording and saving of sounds.
All four reface models are presenting themselves as a creative toy for sound design. But despite their compact design, they are professional instruments that are inviting to play. All models feature Yamaha's brand new 'HQ' Mini-Action keyboard with 37 keys (3 octaves). The user interfaces were designed separately for each instrument introducing features such as drawbars for the reface YC organ and the capacitive Multi-Touch surface on the reface DX.
reface YC: Electric Combo Organ - Rich, punchy sounds are its area of expertise: The reface YC offers additive synthesis paired with a unique power of expression using nine drawbars and virtual rotary speakers. The instrument combines five different models of organs, the sound is created using a special "Organ Flutes Tone Generator". In addition to the possibility to carry around five organs in a single piece of hardware without breaking your back, the reface YC delivers the authentic spirit of playing an organ using the smallest user interface possible.
All four reface models offer a rich potential for creative sound design - and the opportunity to get in touch with the whole world: With Soundmondo, Yamaha created an online hub connecting the reface community all over the globe. Soundmondo offers creative possibilities to create, share and discover sounds. The connection is established intuitively using a special Web MIDI technology for Google Chrome. As soon as a reface model is plugged in, it offers the possibility of direct synchronisation. Voices and set lists can be stored in a private area as well as shared with the community.
Quick and easy storage as well as management of sounds with iPhone and iPad: The free reface iOS app for Apple mobile devices makes data transfer extremely simple. A name, a picture and multiple tags can be applied to stored voices; they can be sorted in different ways as well. Search functionality is also included. Using a set list, voices can be arranged in a specific order and recalled one after the other. Another impressive feature is the possibility to exchange voices using QR codes: A distinctive code can be generated from any stored voice and can then be shared using the different options available with iOS. It can for example be sent via email or read using the camera of another iPad to import it into the app.

Streichfett combines the best of the now extinct species of String Synthesizers of the 70s and early 80s. Its dual sound engine features a fully polyphonic strings section and a monophonic solo section, which is essential for recreating how adult movies sounded thirty years ago. The Ensemble Effect handles lubrication of the String Section, while the Effects section adds adjustable Phaser or Reverb. Alternatively, the Effect section can be used to animate the strings registration, allowing spectacular sound morphs.
The Solo Section offset presets named Bass, E-Piano or Clavi, and just like in your typical string machine, the sound has little to do with that name. Instead, these are shimmering and slightly percussive sounds that blend well with the string section.
Although the User Interface is simple and easy to comprehend, it controls a rather complex sound engine which is capable to delivers rich and creamy pads unlike any other instrument.
Twelve patches can be stored and selected in the Memory section, USB and MIDI are of course on board.
Notes: Waldorf draw on their proud history with a new wavetable synth building on the classic Microwave 1 and modern Microwave II/XT. Serious synth power from this eight-voice monster.

With M, Waldorf are musically returning to their roots by bringing back classic Microwave and 'modern' Microwave II tone generation as a new-generation classic hybrid wavetable synthesizer with an analogue lowpass 24 dB/Oct VCF - SSI 2144 Improved Ladder Type - with resonance and analogue saturation feature, true stereo analogue VCA with panning option, and much more to explore in a desktop-friendly form factor featuring a wide range of unique sounds. Plentiful presets - totalling 2,048 sound programs (divided into 16 banks, each with 128 sounds) - professionally programmed by world- renowned sound designers also include all of the classic Microwave sound sets, such as MW1 Factory Sound Set, MW1 Soundpool 1-5, the fat-sounding Analogue and Bassco, as well as PPG Wave 2.3 sounds cleverly converted for the original Microwave. Moreover, it also features freshly-programmed sounds utilising M's myriad new features - from true hard Sync (when working in its Modern Microwave II/XT mode) to the ARP (arpeggiator) and MIDI-syncable global LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator).
But beating at M's musical heart as an eight-voice polyphonic, four-part multitimbral WAVETABLE SYNTHESIZER - as boldly blazoned in red across its full-metal blue- coloured casing, itself hinting at its illustrious Microwave heritage - are two wavetable oscillators with independent wavetable-generating Classic Microwave 1 and Modern Microwave II/XT modes, meaning that the wavetable oscillators behave differently in both of those modes (accessible by pressing the Mode button beside the helpful high-resolution graphic display with four endless encoders for yet more hands-on control). Consequently, there is no hard Sync or ring modulation available in the Classic Microwave I mode, where 16-bit wavetables are bit-reduced to 8-bit and a 240 kHz non-anti-aliased sample rate is offered, whereas the Modern Microwave II/XT mode offers a 40 kHz sample rate with band-limited wavetables, although both oscillators - OSC 1 and OSC 2 - offer the same panel parameters.
Two LFOs are generating a periodic waveform with adjustable frequency Rate and Shape that can be used for modulation purposes, are also always at hand. However, unlike other Waldorf synthesizers, there is no modulation matrix in M. Making a conscious design decision to set up M's modulation facilities directly on the corresponding display page, to paying tribute to the 1989-vintage Microwave.
Back in the here and now, M takes performance to a whole new level, thanks to that advanced ARP with 16 preset patterns, chord mode, and an ability to synchronise to MIDI clock. Furthermore, four programmable ENVELOPES allow adventurous users to manipulate sound parameters via rate or timed modulations.
Musically making a connection to the outside world is important to any synthesizer, so M offers six (rear panel-positioned) stereo analogue outputs - arranged as MAIN OUT (L/Mono and R) and AUX OUT (A, B, C, and D), the latter of which can be used to route each of the four Multi (multitimbral) parts to different outputs, if desired; a stereo headphone output (with an associated Volume knob in addition to the topside Master Volume knob); 5-pin MIDI IN, OUT, and THRU DIN connectors, complimented by a USB 2.0 MIDI port (for computer connection to transmit and receive MIDI data); an SD Card slot (for updating M's firmware, importing/saving sound patches, and importing/saving M-specific data, such as user wavetables); and - last but not least - a Kensington compatible security lock slot.

Tracing the footsteps of its bigger brother, Iridium features all the synthesis elements of Quantum as well in a rack-compatible format. The combination of the powerful engine, incredible flexibility and detailed sound shaping facilities creates sheer endless possibilities of sound. Yet, the comprehensive layout and easy-to-understand structure lets you design your own sounds in no time. Sporting a solid metal casing and the same high level of craftsmanship like Quantum, Iridium is now ready to take over studios and stages throughout the world.
Contributing another entry in Waldorf's rich history, Iridium joins the family as a direct descendant of the PPG Wave. Though, Iridium offers much more than its ancestor. Five different synthesis models are provided by Iridium for each of the three oscillators:
Kernel mode has been introduced with the OS 2.0 of Quantum. This huge upgrade allows one oscillator to be turned into up to six sub oscillators. These can be interlinked through FM at audio rate and arranged in user-definable constellations. Just this upgrade alone would have provided enough additional features to create a synthesizer on its own. Now, all those functions have been integrated into Iridium as well.
Up to 7000 patches can be saved in Iridium. Patches from Quantum can be loaded in Iridium and vice-versa.
Iridium features three digital filters per voice. Two in the Dual Filter section and another one in the Digital Former. Several types are available to choose from:
12 or 24dB and Lowpass/Highpass/Bandpass with optional saturation or dirtiness.
Various filter models are available including those from Waldorf Nave, Largo and PPG 3V.
The Dual Filter section can be controlled independently or together in several different link modes.
The Digital Former offers all the filter types and models from the Dual Filter plus unusual models like Comb, Drive, Bitcrusher and more in addition.
All filters retain a true stereo signal throughout the entire structure of the instrument.
Up and down, back and forth
6 Envelopes, 6 LFOs and many more are just waiting for being used as sources in the 40 slots of the Modulation Matrix. Each slot has one additional control amount. Modulations can be directed to almost every numerical value in Iridium. All sources and destinations can be used as many times as desired until the Modulation Matrix is full. If you ever happen to run out of LFOs or Envelopes, you can use the Komplex Modulator for generating a custom shape LFO or Envelope.
Even though Iridium features a staggering amount of parameters to control, everything is organized in a logic structure which is easy to master. The major controls have their own dedicated knob, while the rest is accessible through the touch screen and the encoders around. There are no long menus keeping you from doing what you had planned. Instead, you will find a workflow which you will soon miss on other synthesizers.
Embedded in the front panel, a 4x4 silicon pad matrix invites you to launch notes, chords, arpeggios and sequences with up to 32 steps for notes and multiple parameter lines. Direct access to the parameters is granted by the seven encoders to the left and the right hand side of the touch screen.
Iridium's large color touch screen keeps you informed at all times. Upon moving a knob, Iridium gives you an optical feedback of your changes in real-time. Filter curves move, Particle grain sizes change, Envelopes warp and much more:
Komplex Modulator curves can be drawn with your finger
Envelopes show at which point the voices currently are
Wavetables are displayed in comprehensive view modes
VU meters show which voices are used and the individual voice levels
Different Analyzers show the audio signal at different points
Two Audio Outputs allow you to listen to Iridium, while two Inputs allow Iridium to process external signals. 4 CV inputs plus Gate In and Trigger In are ready to forward external signals to the Mod Matrix. Furthermore, Clock In and Clock Out will get your gear in sync. MIDI connections can be made through USB and DIN MIDI. Iridium is also equipped with a USB Host port for MIDI devices. This port also handles data exchange, in addition to the MicroSD card slot.
Once again, Waldorf have underlined their status with a new and exciting synthesizer.

The Skorn da Bask table top module is the same module as the eurorack version but in a hammond 1590BB enclosure and aluminium panel, it can be powered thru a 2,1mm negative pin power jack, compatible with Boss and Ibanez standard power supplies.
Thanks to their routing options, the VCOs can not only be used to generate audio signals, but for modulating the VCF's cutoff frequency as well. Besides processing internally produced saw tooth waves, the filter is also usable for editing sound coming from other modules. Typical Touell Skouarn, the Skorn da Bask distorts like hell. Primary application: The creation of dirty, experimental sound structures and abstract rhythms.
The front panel of Skorn da Bask shows three areas highlighted in red. These zones contain the connectors and control elements for the oscillators. Each VCO comes equipped with a pitch CV input, a tune potentiometer and two switches for defining the routing as well as the frequency range used. In detail, the oscillators can be connected to the audio or CV input of the filter. Thanks to their range switches, each VCO is able to work with audio or low frequency rates. The pitch input does not follow the standard 1v per octave.
After all, Skorn da Bask is not an ordinary oscillator module, but an experimental sound generator.
The low pass filter features a slope of 24 dB per octave. A potentiometer named FreqaNs regulates the circuit's cutoff parameter, Dasson sets the resonance. For processing external signals, there is an audio input. As long as a cable is plugged into this socket, the VCOs are disconnected from the filter's audio path. Third-company modules, like an envelope or LFO, can influence the VCF's frequency via a CV input. For damping modulation signals coming from the oscillators, there is an attenuator knob. The audio output is equipped with a level potentiometer. High settings lead to juicy overdrive effects.

Centred around an advanced 16-track sequencer where all tracks run independently, OP-Z makes individual track speed and track length possible. In addition to this, it's possible to add unique step behaviours to every one of the 16 steps: a feature we call step components. Think of this as dual layer sequencing where the first layer is a traditional 16 step sequencer, while the second layer adds variation per cycle, note variation, micro sequencing, direction, parameter changes, re-trig's and much more, all on just one single step. In theory, it's possible to create a complete song by programming only the 1st step of the 16, using multiple step components to create endless variations, a technique recommended for experts and engineers only. Seriously, in some situations it's actually almost impossible to predict the complete length of a sequence. So, we created a special component for those situations named 'catch up', that forces a track to exit at a certain step to stay in sync. In total, there are 14 components sorted into 3 groups: triggers, note variations and specials.
All 14 components have 10 values and behaviour programs. The product of all this is that you have 140 ways to alter just one single step. Probably more than most people can handle. And to make step composing really intuitive and super-fast, all keys are backlit with multi-colour LED's with instant machine feedback, a must-have for poorly lit club gigs and late-night-in-bed composing. Actually, the print on the unit itself is made with a special glow-in-the dark-paint. A pretty cool 'world's first' for synthesizers.
Bring your own screen:
OP-Z is a completely stand-alone synthesizer and composer, ready to be used at anytime and anywhere, but for those of you who need that extra injection of vibrant graphics, interactive user interface and awesome synced animations to feel inspired, we introduce the concept of BYOS - bring your own screen. You already have the phone with that gorgeous retina display in your pocket, right? Just download the OP-Z app, pair the two devices and you are all set. Add cellular connectivity, WiFi and powerful graphics processing to that, and the concept certainly makes sense. All this tech when connected to the OP-Z adds several unique features - like using the phone's camera, snapping a series of photos and arranging them to a beat, creating a synchronised music video 'a-la-minute'.
We support Dropbox on IOS as well, so transfer of your custom artwork on to your IOS device will be instant and without cables. To eliminate any latency between image and sound, we ported the OP-Z sound engine to run simultaneously on your IOS device. Something we call 'dual domain synthesis'.
Photomatic:
Snap a series of photos and sequence them to a beat. Compose a song and create a completely synchronised music video 'a-la-minute'. The included photomatic feature is just pure instant fun.
Custom graphics:
By adding any artwork or a photo to your IOS device camera roll or to a Dropbox folder, you can create high quality custom graphics, patterns, colour palettes or stop motion videos. Anything can be animated in pace with your music.
Create your own world:
OP-Z is tailor made for unity 3D, the world's most popular multi-platform game engine. Chosen because of its intuitive workflow and excellent VR support. A dedicated OP-Z toolkit for unity will be available at launch that opens up the entire machine.
Full unity 3D integration:
Teenage engineering have worked closely with Keijiro Takahashi and the unity Tokyo studio to fully integrate OP-Z with the unity game engine. As Keijiro-san is both a full time software evangelist at unity and a renowned VJ at night, we have had access to a selection of Keijiro-san's personally developed tools and shaders which deliver stunning 3D graphics that run at full speed on iPhone or iPad. Keijiro-san's tool-set and real life experience in performances with motion graphics have been invaluable in making OP-Zan inspiring live tool for moving images in sync with music. The weakest point of VJ-ing has always been the creation of content. By exposing the inner control data of the OP-Z and linking it to unity, users can create anything within unity, build the project and just drop the build to a Dropbox folder. Customizing every single polygon in a performance.
If it don't have tape, it's not OP:
The new tape feature is probably one of the coolest sonic features of the OP-Z. Imagine a short snippet of tape secretly recording everything that is programmed in the sequencer - all in real-time. And with its own dedicated track it's possible to sequence the tape, trig the in-point, length and speed. OP-Z will come with a range of tape reels with unique character and functions. Scrub, scratch, wind-up and mess-up!

OP-1 FIELD SYNTHESISER
Injected with more than a decade of ideas, refinements and improvements. Just to mention a few: stereo throughout the whole signal chain, Bluetooth MIDI, USB type-C, a new speaker system with a passive driver for detailed, fat and loud sound, a massive 24 hour battery life, multiple tapes and recording formats, new great sounding reverb and the 'dimension' synth engine, an all glass, flush, high resolution display. The graphics have also been meticulously reworked, screen by screen.
.
Think of OP-1 field as the natural continuation of its predecessor. Updated with the latest technology, improved design and finely tuned with professional musicians, recording artists and sound designers in mind. Higher quality in all aspects, from its circuitry to connectivity and flexibility, it's tailor made for professionals in the field. The new stereo sample engine is just one of the features that takes the OP-1 field to a higher level. With increased sampling time up to 20 seconds and dual layer mode for instant mixing of the a and b channels or via an assigned LFO.
Four new recording formats: Studio 4-track, vintage 4-track, porta and disc mini. All with their own unique characteristics and graphics. Now with multiple tapes or discs, up to 8 in total.
If it feels thinner, it is. By lowering the aluminium body around the keyboard, the new OP-1 field feels lighter, thinner and more precise. with 2k moulding Teenage Engineering have also managed to fit a dual 2.4 GHz antenna system inside the aluminium body.
The back is warm, velcro and bass. Two soft velcro rings have been added on the back for fastening covers and accessories. Perhaps you want to stick your op-1 field on top of your full size keyboard, or slap it on a guitar? Use the included adhesive looped back and start experimenting. On the right you'll find an additional passive loudspeaker for hugely improved bass. And for a 'no-more-cold-metal-on-your-lap' experience, the aluminium body has been folded in a warm, soft touch, hard cover.
The first accessory out using the velcro rings is the Bill Amberg leather wrap that attaches to the back and wraps around the op-1 field and locks around the encoders.

Wavetable synthesiser complete system with effects processor
Notes: Built on the AE modular system from Tangible Waves, the VSYSTEM-2 is a tiny, fully featured synth voice with patchable functions including wavetable oscillator, Polivoks filter and digital effects.
Supplier's Notes:
The VSYSTEM-2 is a complete synth in a case of exactly the size of the Korg Volca synths. It contains the following AE modules:
WAVETABLES (digital wavetable oscillator):
The WAVETABLES module is a digital oscillator that is based of wavetables, a technique that become popular first with the famous PPG synthesizer. Here, a huge number of digital waveforms can be "scanned", resulting in a morphing between a variety of interesting spectral structures.
The module offers seven different table sets, in each of them an interesting spectral move happens via the WAVE knob. Of course, this can be modulated by an external CV too.
To "fatten" the sound, the DETUNE/SPREAD knob adds a second oscillator with a variable detune up to one octave.
Pitch and wave modulation have an attenuator knob to set the amount of modulation, plus a switch to choose between unipolar (modulation CV is added to the current value) or bipolar (modulation swings above and below the current value).
The table position of the currently played waveform has a visual representation by an LED that changes its colour in the rainbow spectrum.
WAVETABLES is based on a quite powerful processor, the output is 16-bit audio, resulting in a high-quality sound.
This module was developed by Paula Maddox from DOVE audio; known by the excellent synthesizers MODAL 002, MODAL 008 and we are proud and happy that Paula offered to contribute this excellent work for the AE modular product line.
GRUNGE FILTER (Polivoks style filter):
The GRUNGE FILTER is the AE version of the filter that gave the famous Polivoks synth his unique, rough sound. The Polivoks was a Russian synth that was produced between 1982 and 1990.
Beyond the basic design, this filter offers some additional features:
two different resonance characteristics, hard and soft
an FM function, that adds the input signal to the modulation of the filter
an optional overdrive for the output, making the sound even more rough and untamed.
MODULATORS (containing LFO, envelope, random voltage, VCA):
MODULATORS is a multifunctional module offering different kinds of modulation sources in a 1U module. It is designed especially with very small AE systems in mind.
You get:
An AD envelope generator
an LFO with adjustable rate, square wave and triangle/sawtooth output, pulse width knob and CV control
a random CV source working in different modes (stepped, smoothed, quantized)
and a VCA
2ENV (dual CV controlled envelope generator):
ENV is a dual attack - decay envelope; it can be switched between full sustain (the output remains at full level as long as the GATE input is on) and zero sustain (for percussive envelopes). Another switch (SLOW/FAST) allows selecting the time range
For manual triggering there is a button for each envelope.
CV control: Both attack and decay time can be CV controlled; the CV "multiplies" the time by 1...approx. 8 times.
MULTIFX (digital stereo FX processor with reverbs, delays and other FX):
The MULTIFX module offers 15 different stereo audio FX programs, a wide variety from common FX like reverb and delay to unique effects like Ring Crusher or Glitch delay. Also a nice shimmer effect is onboard.
Each program has 3 parameters that can be adjusted and additionally be CV-controlled.
With a switch the sample rate can be reduced to half the normal rate, resulting in doubling the effect times (with reverb, delay...) and introducing a nice portion of aliasing.
It is based on the FV-1 DSP chip that is well-known from other FX-modules in the eurorack world; the MULTIFX module offers the 7 factory programs of the chip plus 8 new and unique ones created by tangiblewaves.
Stereo Headphone amplifier, 2 IN/OUT sockets via a stereo minijack
It is delivered completely with power wall adapter and patchwires; everything needed to get the modular system started!
This is a REAL modular synth system; all modules can be rearranged and swapped as you like.

The VSYSTEM-1 is a complete synth in a case of exactly the size of the Korg Volca synths. It contains the following AE modules:
2OSC/d (dual oscillator)
The 2OSC/d module contains two 1V/octave hybrid oscillators.
Each of them has:
one frequency knob plus a range switch +2 octaves
CV input (1V / octave)
PWM input
SYNC input
Sawtooth / Square / Sub-octave output
The pulse width knob controls either the pulse width of the first oscillator (with the second one having a fixed pulse width), or via a switch the second oscillator is also controlled by the pulse width knob. Both oscillators can be pulse width-modulated independently by their PWM inputs.
The module is designed as a hybrid digital/analogue module; the oscillator frequencies are determined digitally and are therefore quite stable and have a good tracking; the output waveform itself is created analogue. It's a new idea/concept that I have implemented here; the design causes the waveform to gets a bit gritty at higher frequencies (but not "digital noise") - it's the character of this thing!
WASP FILTER
This filter module is a variant of the Wasp filter, a quite strange circuit used first in the EDP Wasp synth end of the seventies, which abuses digital chips in an analogue way leading to the characteristic sound of this filter type. In this module, vactrols are used for controlling the filter frequency.

4ATTMIX
A versatile mixer / quadattenuator.
4ATTMIX offers four input channels which can be level controlled / attenuated by the corresponding knobs. The attenuated signals are sent to four outputs.
Additionally, each channel can be sent to an internal mixer by the switches beside the knobs. The mix signal is then sent to the mix output.
An additional switch selects the general operation mode for the mixer, for DC/CV signals or for audio signals.
SEQ8 (8-step sequencer)
The SEQ8 is an 8-step sequencer for controlling oscillator pitch and triggering envelopes.
Compared to "classic" analogue sequencers it works a bit different: Instead of setting the CV for each step independently (which means in fact "tuning" each step which can be a bit tedious), the SEQ8 has 4 knobs for presetting different CV's (= notes); each of the 8 step knobs selects one of these CVs, plus 0V (=base note) plus Pause (no trigger output). So some CVs have to be fine-tuned once; with the step knobs you can focus entirely on the sequence itself and you can even modify it on the fly, still remaining in tune.
Additionally, to the selected CV presets, the "raw" value of the step knobs is also accessible at an extra output.
DELAY
This module is a standard mono delay with the usual parameters
delay time
feedback
dry/wet mix.
It sounds not as clean and polished as a usual digital delay, but has quite a character on its own. High feedback settings allow endless and distorting loops.
(For the techies: It is based on the well-known PT2399 chip.)

Notes: Process and generate synth sounds with the unique Magnetar distortion synth, based around distortion and fuzz circuits in series. Adjustable feedback and LFO modulation give super distinctive tones.
Supplier's Notes:
Magnetar is a dual distortion synthesizer featuring distortion, fuzz (connected in series), equalization/feedback, delay, and LFO. However, the capabilities of this synth go far beyond a simple sound processor. It can generate incredible sounds without any input, simply by tweaking the controls to create unpredictable sounds, perfect for drone, ambient, noise, and more. You can see it in action in the video. It's highly recommended to read the manual carefully, as the synth is very sensitive to input level changes. The level pots not only control the levels but also produce unique textures and intriguing sound variations.

Suzuki's iconic Omnichord returns with the OM-108, a modern update of the classic formula featuring new digital synth sounds alongside the original omni1 and omni2 analogue synth circuits.
Supplier's notes:
Released in 1981, the Omnichord is an electronic musical instrument with an automatic accompaniment function (auto bass/chord) and equipped with a harp sensor. By pressing a chord button and sliding your finger on the harp sensor (strumplate), an arpeggio corresponding to the chord is heard, allowing anyone to easily accompany a song. Omnichord does not require any previous musical experience with an instrument, or even knowledge of staff notation. All that is needed are the chord names required to play a song which is a method commonly known as 'tab'. Combined with its portability, Omnichord became extremely popular, especially in Europe and America as a new musical instrument that anyone can enjoy - anywhere. In addition, due to the unique electronic sounds that are reminiscent of the 80's, and the tactile way musical expressions are achieved, Omnichord has developed cult status around the world. It not only appears in recorded music, but also publicity photos, and has featured in the titles of songs and albums. The Omnichord name was discontinued after the OM-300 (released in 1996), but its popularity as a unique musical instrument has endured the test of time, and now, over 40 years later the Omnichord returns with the OM-108.
Simply press a chord button and slide your finger on the strumplate. In this way, you can play accompaniment to almost any song on the very same day you first try the Omnichord!
Suzuki put a great deal of effort into the design of the Omnichord so that it accurately reproduces the sound of the OM-84, a model that is hailed as a masterpiece for its tone and versatility. To achieve this in the OM-108, Suzuki decided to apply the same method for sound creation as the OM84, incorporating real analogue circuitry into the new model. In total, the OM-108 is equipped with 10 types of strumplate tones, whilst "omni1" and "omni2" reproduce the classic sound of the OM-84, revived for future generations to enjoy.
The OM-108 includes a selection of timeless instrument tones that are both retro and current. The "celeste", "harp", and "piano" featured in previous models. The "FM piano" tone is new, this is an electric piano sound that helped define 1980s music. The OM-108 is equipped with. "omni1" and "omni2" which use real analogue circuitry. Other tones are reproduced using PCM sound generation.
There are 10 tones...omni1/omni2/harp/celeste/A.piano/guitar/FMpiano/organ /vibes/banjo(omni1 and omni2 have the same Main Voice but different Sub Voices).
The model OM-84 was equipped with two electronic harp tones, allowing the tones to be layered and played. OM-108 reproduces this function. A tone that sounds beautiful when layered with the Main Voice has been assigned as a Sub Voice. To control each layer, simply turn the appropriate Volume knob. This enables real time control changes adding expression to your sound.
Even though many rhythms included in the OM-108 share the same names as previous models, they have been updated to incorporate rhythm patterns that are current. Also, for the first time on Omnichord, a trap beat (Hip Hop) has been included. Suzuki have selected "usable" rhythms that will allow you to play a wider variety of songs.
There are 10 kinds of rhythm...rock1/rock2/slow rock/country/swing/disco/hip hop/funk/bossanova/waltz
The "sus4"' and "add9" chords, often used in popular music, have been added. It is now possible to play a total of 108 chord types, hence the model number 'OM-108'. The Omnichord has developed into an instrument that can be played more intuitively without having to substitute other chords.
Equipped with a wide type strumplate similar to models OM-100 onwards. Every corner of the plate responds sensitively to light touch, so you can concentrate on playing without stress.
In addition to the melody keyboard, the OM-108 is equipped with drum pad mode for the first time as a function (when the "KEYBOARD" button is pressed). Owners of the OM-108 will be pleased to note the drum pad is assigned not only to the chord button, but also to the strumplate. This allows for the creation of interesting beats using the OM-108 retro drum kits.
The OM-108 not only sends chords and strumplate data, but also drum performance information from MIDI OUT. Strumplate information can be sent on two MIDI channels, allowing you to layer tones with external MIDI sound sources, or to layer the OM-108 internal sounds with external sound sources. The OM-108 has evolved into an instrument that invites you to explore more creative sounds using MIDI.
The OM-108 includes rhythm voicing from the OM-84, which is extremely popular for its early 1980s retro sound. You can switch the rhythm tones between OM-108 and OM-84 by using a special 'power-on' operation.
Although it has a built-in speaker, the Omnichord is small, lightweight, and battery-powered*, making it easy to carry and play. Connect an external amplifier and headphones, and you can perform anywhere, such as in the studio, performing at a live venue, or just playing in your bedroom! *Powered by 8, AA batteries or dedicated AC adapter (both sold separately).
Using "REAL TIME CONTROL", the OM-108 integrates multiple functions for switching the way chords and rhythms are played. Whether you want to play at free tempo (without rhythm), add bass accompaniment, or start with a drum prelude, you can easily switch in real time even during a performance.
When connecting to an external speaker etc., you can turn on/off the sound produced by the speaker of the instrument. This is useful when you want to monitor your own sound during live performances. This is a new feature included on the OM-108 in direct response to user's requests.

Six-voice analogue variable character desktop synthesiser
Notes: Building on Supercritical's back catalogue, the Redshift provides a range of characters, based around the Demon Core Oscillator and Neutron Flux Filter. Six-voice analogue design with multitimbral options, MPE control and DSP effects.
Supplier's Notes:
Supercritical Synthesizers introduces their first desktop instrument, Redshift 6 - six voice analogue Variable Character Synthesizer
Supermassively dense analogue oscillator combined with a chameleon analogue filter with versatile gain staging. Now sixfold.
Redshift 6 combines technology from the company's previous products, the Demon Core Oscillator and the Neutron Flux Filter. Each of the six voices features a DCO with analogue waveforms generated under digital control. The filter core is an analogue 4-pole state variable filter also digitally controlled to act like almost any classic vintage synthesizer filter and more. In addition to the oscillators and filters, Redshift 6 has all the features expected of a modern synth - plenty of modulators, flexible voice routing, multitimbrality, MPE, and DSP effects.
Redshift 6's idea is something that is wrapped in the moniker "Variable Character Synthesizer". Each voice's analogue path regarding tuning, gain staging, filter, and more is under strict digital control. Redshift 6 has as lush and warm sweet spot inspired by the analogue polysynth tradition, but it can also cover the full range from almost digitally sterile and clean to distorted misbehaviour and beyond. No modelling here - it's all analogue until the bypassable stereo DSP effects processor.
The oscillator, already road-tested in the Demon Core Oscillator eurorack module, is featured in each of the six voices. The oscillator has multiple tricks up its sleeve, each one wrapped as an Engine for the user to choose between. Traditional twin oscillator engines, supersaw engines, flanging phase sync engines, and transistor organ engines are all powerful modes in user-friendly ways that are easily controllable and modulatable.
Redshift 6's six voices can be configured in plenty of ways. Choose between true six-voice polyphony, classic vintage poly dual layer mode with 3+3 voices, six individual voices each with their own patch and physical output, or any combination of the above. Each of the six voices can also operate as a paraphonic voice with up to 16 note paraphony. Additionally, multiple filters can be chained by routing audio from one voice to another.
The form factor of Redshift 6 is a modern, compact desktop device with a 2.7-inch colour screen. Menu diving is reduced to a minimum, with quick navigation via the shortcut button grid. A selection of familiar synth controls are featured on the front panel. A macro mode is included with six user-assignable controls. The back panel features main audio outputs with a DSP effects processor and four auxiliary voice outputs.
One of the major design principles of Redshift 6 is to have a versatile and capable analogue platform and a flexible UI for new Engines, easily updateable via software updates.
Six voices each featuring:
Full analogue signal chain
Digitally controlled analogue Supercritical Demon Core Oscillator
Analog four pole Variable Character Filter
Flexible gain staging with an analogue boost circuit
Physical audio output per voice (2 main outputs and 4 aux outputs)
Optional voice chaining
Bypassable digital effects in main outputs 1-2
2.7" TFT IPS colour screen with a bank of 8 endless clickable potentiometers and quick navigation via button grid
Quick powerful controls for oscillators and filters.
Six user-assignable macro controls
Six parts multitimbral
Modern MIDI implementation with USB-B connection and DIN IN/OUT

Polyphonic digital & analogue synthesiser & sampler
Notes: Polyvera is the result of 4 years of development, reviving details of the 80s digital sound that and reinterpreting them in a modern way, thanks to analog filters and powerful sound design features, to create sounds that go beyond legacy.
At the core of Polyvera there are 2 oscillators (wavetable or sampler) with modern and vintage digital styles. While analog-style warm waveforms are possible, the oscillators can even recreate the alias and digital grit of early vintage synthesizers and samplers.
A multimode analog filter with overdrive fattens the sound and shapes the digital artifacts in new ways.

Your Personal Soundscape:
Conversations between Oscillating Tones and Your Mind
Immersive Ambient Generator
4 layers of tone and texture-Drone, Pad, Atmos, and Noise-merge to generate deep resonance and continuous transformation.
Ambient O (zero) is incredibly easy to use. Start by playing a tone from one layer using the note hold function. While listening closely, simply tweak the knobs to modify the tone and add other layers to shape a pleasing sound.
Blendwave Modulation Synthesis
Sonicware conducted extensive research into creating undulating and fluctuating tones for Ambient O, resulting in the development of a new wavetable-based synthesis.
Blendwave Modulation Synthesis combines 6 unique structures with 32 WAVEs featuring complex harmonic transitions, making it easy to create powerful low drones, lush pads, and transparent pizzicatos, perfect for Ambient Music.
4 knobs/8 parameters offer a wide range of tone creation.
A WAVE contains 128 harmonic tables, allowing for diverse tonal changes such as moving from basic waveforms to complex harmonics. The WAVE is represented by a yin-yang icon, with the yin representing moves in the reverse direction through the tables during modulation.
6 Structures - Each structure has a different number of oscillators and modulation circuits. ATMOS 1 applies ring modulation, while ATMOS 2 applies FM modulation.
Noise and Space
The Noise layer includes 8 specially selected nature sounds, offering noise blending, pitch adjustment and modulation to infuse unique spatial characteristics.
Additionally, it allows for up to 8 seconds of stereo sampling from the line input, letting you create personalized textures.
Extensive Effects Section
Ambient O is equipped with 9 types of lush reverb, each offering unique spatial dimensions and brightness settings. You can individually adjust the reverb send and shimmer send (for layering octaves) for each layer.
In addition to the reverb, the Ambient O offers an effect unit with Tape Delay, Reverse Delay, and 4 master effects; Overdrive, Bit/Rate Crush, Tilt EQ, and Stereo Chorus.

The kind of instrument Soma Labs do so well: weird but wonderful. Based around 32 complex digital synth algorithms and 12 note velocity- and pressure-sensitive sensors, transposition techniques allow you to play the full range of a grand piano.
Supplier's Notes:
TERRA is a new SOMA Labs synth.
TERRA is a highly conceptual device. The core idea is unity of nature and technology, and a perfect balance between simplicity and versatility. Behind the extremely simple interface hides a complex polyphonic, microtonal synthesizer with a broad and flexible sound palette that ranges from classical beautiful tones to complex atonal noise, and offers smooth and fast transitions between these extremes.
The innovative keyboard design invites new playing techniques and covers the full range of a grand piano with the possibility to tune each note with an accuracy of 125 steps per semitone. To achieve this range with such a simple keyboard we designed a unique system of pitch shifting using four additional sensors. Pressing different combinations of them will result in 16 variations of keyboard transposing, including up to 3 octaves up and down, fifth, fourth, third, tone etc.
Not only do you get the full range of a grand piano in a very compact design, TERRA also offers an entirely new and different approach to playing melodies and chords.
The keyboard consists of 12-note sensors with velocity and pressure sensitivity allowing for the manual creation of slow attack and vibrato, 4 dynamic sensors for timbre modification and control, 4 pitch-shifting sensors and 2 hold sensors for holding the state of the timbre and note sensors.
Inside TERRA there is a three-axis motion sensor for creating a variety of different modulations by simple intuitive movements of your hands and body.
TERRA is digital and contains 32 complex synthesis algorithms. Each algorithm has been carefully designed to be a complete and flexible musical instrument on its own, ready for learning and playing in its own unique way. The goal is to free the musician from long exhausting programming, setting hundreds of parameters for creating one timbre, and instead putting the focus directly on music and performance and following your imagination and inspiration.
TERRA offers the best of both worlds: the direct intuitive tactile connection from acoustic instruments and the flexibility and versatility of synthesizers. TERRA inherits design principles from LYRA-8 and also contains application of the new principles that were announced for ReFLEX, exploring the future of synthesis.
TERRA has an extremely simple interface that gives you instant access to all its functions in several touches, including saving and loading the 96 presets that are stored directly on the playing sensors. TERRA has no display. Instead it shows and lets you dial all necessary data on the 6 LED-sensor triangle in the centre.
TERRA has a built-in FX processor so the stereo output is ready to use, making it a perfect stand-alone performance instrument. While the sound generation is digital, TERRA has a unique custom-built and top quality analogue part that makes it sound rich, natural, clear and powerful at the same time.
The housing of TERRA comes from a solid piece of wood, making each instrument unique and slightly different. In the photo above and in the announcement demo video you can see the prototype of the synth. The final design is in development and we intend to make several different versions.
TERRA is a sanctuary for a natural soul right in the middle of the rumbling plastic world, a ground where you can breathe in and out slowly, and hold on to your roots.
TERRA is our dream about a bright future where we will be both technologically advanced and more connected to nature, where machines and technology are not a prison for our feelings and spirit but their extension.

Notes: Pink version of Soma's excellent Lyra-8. Brilliantly unusual synth based on eight analogue tone generators, functioning more like an electric organ or FM synth than a conventional subtractive architecture. Unique sound.
Supplier's Notes:
Welcome to the world of sound of LYRA-8, the unique organismic analogue synthesiser designed by Vlad Kreimer. "Organismic" means that LYRA uses some principles that lie in the base of living organisms. The way how LYRA's modules interacting between each other and the behaviour of the instrument resembles a live conversation.
LYRA-8 is based on eight generators, which will be referred to as voices. Their design is not like a traditional subtractive synthesis VCO. Instead of having a linear or logarithmic dependency on control voltage, they resemble the tone generators in old electric organs. Hence the use of the term "voices" instead of "VCOs". Lyra uses non-linearity a lot, and the voices are constructed in such a way that allows for non-linearity to express itself.
The voices are divided into four pairs (12, 34, 56, 78). All the pairs are divided in two groups, with two pairs in each (1234, 5678), creating tree-like structure.
The voices can function either in an electric organ mode or in an FM synthesis mode with each of the voices and its envelope acting as a separate FM operator. The voice's impact on FM synthesis will decrease along with the decay of its envelope.
LYRA-8 also has the next blocks:
The HYPER LFO is a complex low-frequency generator, whose waveform is synthesized from two simple LFOs by summation or multiplication of their frequencies. It also has a sync mode. The LFO can modulate the selected pairs of voices and the MOD DELAY.
The MOD DELAY consists of two lines of delay with cross-feedback and a special architecture that enables resonance between the two lines. Each line's delay time can be individually modulated from various sources, including external ones. The delay has a unique possibility of self-modulation where the output signal modulates the delay sample rate, creating cool effects.
The DISTORTION is last in the chain, after the delay. It enables the delay to also influence the distortion.
For all its experimental character, LYRA is a professional instrument. Its output dynamics and frequency response are balanced and ready for a live performance or studio recording without any additional processing.

Introducing the revived version of LYRA-4 organismic synthesiser, the younger sister of the famous LYRA-8. "Organismic" means that LYRA uses some principles that lie in the base of living organisms. The way how LYRA's modules interacting between each other and the behaviour of the instrument resembles a live conversation. And playing two LYRA-4s can actually sound very different than just one LYRA-8.

Co-developed by the late Chris Huggett, the Mantis is PWM's flagship synth, a duophonic hybrid design with high-performance digital oscillators and state-variable analogue filters. A fitting tribute to a legendary synth designer.
Supplier's Notes:
Mantis is a unique, duophonic hybrid synthesizer that was co-developed by the late Chris Huggett (of EDP Wasp, OScar & more fame) and is dubbed as a spiritual successor to the OSCar, sporting precision digital oscillators, dual state variable filters and more.
Mantis is a premium synthesizer, sporting a high quality 37-note velocity and pressure sensitive keybed, SSI2164 IC's for the VCF's and VCA's, custom high performance processors for the oscillators coupled with a pristine analogue signal path, which features a twice amplified gain structure for maximum clipping capabilities plus lush stereo digital FX.
The modulation capabilities are vast with:
Two unique ADSR's that feature "sustain fall" that allows you to create a drop before release...even while a key is held for greater sound design possibilities. The envelopes can also be set to cycle.
Two tempo-syncable LFO's with four waves, fade in and fade out parameters and a seriously wide operating range.
Ring modulation available at the mixer
And a unique modulation routing controller with 6 choices of modulation parameters, 6 choices of modulation sources and scale control, which used to scale the effect of the modulation.
In development over the last period of his life Chris threw everything into Mantis. Although incomplete when he sadly passed away in 2020, he handed the project over to Paul of PWM to carry on and continue the project.
PWM, with the support of Chris' estate, think this synthesiser deserves to be born into the world for everyone to enjoy!

Typically creative stuff from Pittsburgh Modular, the updated Voltage Lab is the pinnacle of the brand's synth output. Dual oscillator design with a 16-note touch controller, built-in sequencer and MIDI control.
Supplier's Notes:
The Pittsburgh Modular Voltage Lab 2 is a cutting edge synthesis laboratory that offers a new palette of analogue textures and waveforms to sonic researchers. Newly developed wave shaping capabilities paired with powerful synthesis tools, and a deep, performance oriented controller join together to create a complete sound design laboratory. This instrument has a very physical sound. The tones it creates feel natural and alive, with traditional waveforms becoming the seeds of unique new shapes and sounds that shift between analogue physical modeling and more unfamiliar, abstract timbres.
Laboratory Oscillator 1
Voltage Lab 2 includes a pair of Laboratory Oscillators. Each with a unique set of newly invented waveshaping tools designed to expand the sonic potential of analogue synthesis. Laboratory Oscillator 1 introduces Center Clipping to analogue synthesis. Center clipping unlocks independent control over the top and bottom of the waveform, allowing for detailed manipulation of harmonics and timbre without affecting pitch. It does this by processing waveforms from the center out as opposed to traditional methods which work from the peaks inwards.
Laboratory Oscillator 2
Laboratory Oscillator 2 introduces a host of new sonic possibilities with two new waveshapers. Pulse Symmetry and Reflection. Pulse Symmetry creates a new species of pulse wave that adds a step between the top and bottom of the waveform. The resulting wave looks like a set of stairs where the depth of the center step can be adjusted in addition to the pulse width. Wave Reflection takes the bottom half of the waveform and reflects it onto the top half. Each waveshape responds to this differently. For example, a saw wave morphs into a triangle while triangle and sine waves lose their fundamental harmonic and jump up an octave.
Pittsburgh Dynamics Controllers
The new Dynamics technology imparts Voltage Lab 2 with a uniquely organic depth and presence. By simultaneously managing both amplitude and harmonic content, the Pittsburgh Dynamics Controller expands beyond the one dimensional VCA found in other synthesizers. It does this by utilizing new advancements from traditional low pass gates to add additional definition and dimension to the voices of the Voltage Lab 2.
When used in low pass gate mode, sounds shed harmonic content and become warmer as they decrease in volume. This mimics how sound waves react to their environment. Because of this connection, the Voltage Lab 2 sounds more natural or complex compared to other instruments.
Touch Controller 2
The Touch Controller 2 enables artists to blend traditional pitched performances with the freedom to openly experiment, creating a flexible playground for music creation. Two independent channels offer a combination of real time, expressive playing and in-depth sequencing. Assignable scales, step conditions, jumps, chance effects, generative sequencing, and a host of other tools, come together allowing musicians to both create and interact with complex systems.
A Florist and Echos
The Voltage Lab 2 includes a set of analogue time based effects, Florist and Echos. The Florist is a flanger/chorus hybrid that focuses on brighter, short time shifts with highly controlled feedback allowing for maximum ringing before self oscillation. Echos is a more traditional, darker analogue BBD delay that also utilizes highly controlled feedback to provide a larger number of repeats before falling into self oscillation. Both effects are perfect for traditional workflows and unconventional experimentation.
Complete Set of Modular Tools
The Voltage Lab 2 includes a host of fully modular, analogue and digital synthesis tools to support and enhance it's core functionality. Analog tools include flexible mixers, a pair of complex function generators, noise, sample and hold, and an LFO. Digital tools cover external MIDI, arpeggiator, and a robust chance sequencer. The Voltage Lab 2 toolset is deep enough for all types of sonic experiments.
