Review: Jooice, yet another sublabel of London-based proggy dance and electro label Lirica Archives, drop a swell new dark acid trance release collectively smithed by five sound-stokers: J6, Christian Sarde, Aline Umber, Krol and Otis. Each titans in their respective scenes (between which there is much crossover on this release), the overarching mood is one of renegade sci-fi escapism and revolution, with glitching, quivering robo-vocals and technic, sciencey sound-tunnellings aplenty.

Review: Ophan, formatively a festival hosting talents the likes of Onur Ozer, Hicham, and P.O in Cyprus, now branches out into deeper and increasingly original sonic territory with the launch of its own label. They kick off with a four-track EP from Turin's Otis, who joins a new throng of V/A releasers alongside Innershades, Derek Carr, Munir Nadir, Lvca, and Dawl. Synthology, the debut release under Ophan's label (Oph001), recaptures Otis' ability to finely balance peak times and rolling intervals, with 'Techno Rock'n'roll' in particular marking an especially perfuse detour through high school hair metal synths set against cosmic riser stabs. The release also introduces Lithos, a new subseries.

techno in keeping with previous entrants on the label like The Analogue Cops and Qasio. 'Out Of
Control' Is a creepy slice of acid techno with unsettling vocoder vocal touches ano a slammina
rhythm section, while 'Reactivation Process' ramps up the dystopian electro sonics to devastating
effect. 'D-Generation' turns up the heat with layer upon layer of darkside 303s, and 'Electro
Magnetic Resonance' juggles crunchy industrial percussion atop a pulsing groove that will keep
the floor in motion deep into the night
