E-Maniac (6:10)
Review: Returning after a four year hiatus from production, Glaswegian producer Jasper James presents the next release for Lovefingers' ESP Institute. As stated on the cover, James 'fights for what he wants to be cuz function is the key. These two songs will ping your pong and pong your ping'. On the A side you have the playful and swing-fuelled stomper '0141' that's certainly geared for the peak of the evening ,followed over on the flip with the heady minimal funk of 'E-Maniac'.

Love To Do It (Mella Dee Law & Disorder mix) (7:00)
Love To Do It (Mella Dee Split Your Wig mix) (5:20)
Review: Mall Grab's Warehouse Music serves up sounds for just that setting and for this latest bit of dancefloor dynamite, they turn to Joshua James & Ride Committee Featuring Roxy for a twisted new single. 'Love To Do It' is a mix of hefty hits and crunchy drum breaks, driving techno bass and filtered vocal stabs with wordless vocalisations. It's intense and high energy but has a unique character which then gets mixed up by Mella Dee, twice. His Law & Disorder mix is a stripped-back and punchy banger with freaky vocal work and the Split Your Wig mix is even more punchy and barrel chested.

Dub Dissonance (5:26)
F Track (5:54)
Maze Chase (6:04)
Sassafras (5:29)
Review: Pensive, hangs-in-the-balance techno from Netherlands producer Jansen, whose control over mixes, from source material to final sound, is impressively granular. The second instalment in his 'Inner Labyrinth' series for Figure, the record is indeed a maze of complexity, albeit not one that is impossible to work out; the artist's reticulated brain terrain, redrawn in sonic form, is mapped out well. On 'Dub Dissonance', a central chord crystal resounds from inside a machinic nucleus, as various filters and harmonicisers seem to change the sound's valency after every bar or so. 'F Track' brings a similar balance through muted, dancing leads, while the record's overall uptick reaches its peak by the time of 'Sassafras', a buzzing zenith of apprehension.

Quintessence (5:16)
Elusive (5:39)
Diminished (dub) (4:54)
Unattributed (4:54)
Review: Len Faki's Figure label kicks on with more on-point and no-frills tech this time with Jancen at the helm. This 'Inner Labyrinth' EP is the first of a two-parter and it opens up with 'Quintessence' which races out of the blocks on sweeping synths and dusty, driving drums. It's stripped back but high impact for heady 'floors. 'Elusive' then ups the ante with some manic synth flashes that dart about the mix at high speed like headlights on a motorway in the dead of night. 'Diminished (dub)' is indeed more dubby, with grainy chords grinding away over clipped but funky techno drums. 'Unattributed' is the eerie closer.

You Wanna Get Real (10:57)
Whispers (11:26)
Review: The mysterious Jase inaugurates new label Off The Map with some quirked-up and glitched-out microhouse on the Out There EP. On side A, you can properly get weird at the afterhours with the cheeky blip, blurp, bleep of 'You Wanna Get Real', while over on the flip you've got another reductive jam reminiscent of mid-noughties mnml on 'Whispers' - all atonal sounds and clipped rhythm programming to keep the paranoid dancefloor vibes going well into Monday morning. Midstate (8:39)
Stutter (II) (7:49)
Review: Sex Tapes From Mars come back a year after their last EP with a third one on the small but well-formed label and this one is handed over to Jata. Opener Stutter '(I)' is pure funky techno and mind altering cosmic synth work for the peak time. It's a bright and vivid sound world that's as good for the head as the heel. 'Midstate' then gets more dirty with warp synth riffs and smeared chords over industrial tech beats. It's restless and kinetic and another dancefloor bomb. Last of all comes the wonky closer Stutter '(I)' which is full of trippy effects and freaky little synth motifs over squelching basslines.

Jay Tripwire & Jehr - "Magic Man" (12:14)

Cyberduck - "Cerclon" (4:59)
Review: Jay Tripwire has popped up a lot recently, which is always going to be good news for fans of those freaky late-night tech sounds that he is so well known and loved for. He kicks off Serenity's fifth release here alongside Jehr on 'Magic Man', a deep cut underlapping drum funk and lots of whirring machine sounds. Parisian space techno talent Cyberduck then takes care of both tunes on the flip - firstly 'Arzach', a deep and dynamic cut that hurriedly scans a vast cosmic world with silvery drums and lush melodies. Then 'Cerclon' gets a little more edgy, with dark and nagging baselines moving up through the mix as the crisp, well-swung tech drums power along.

Review: Jeigo dropped a thrilling debut album Cerulean back at the end of 2022, worked in a tune with Elkka for her DJ-Kicks mix and also dropped a mix for Bicep not long ago. Now he follows all that up with a firing four-track EP on Tread Records that again collides different club sounds, great samples and hooky melodies. 'Hatchet's Cave' is hands-in-the-air house euphoria with blistering drums and warped pads, then 'Move X' is a gritty tech bouncer and 'Compulsions' is a bubbly one with crisp hits. Nervous Horizons label boss Anunaku remixes the title track into a bass-heavy banger too.

Rabbit Hole (5:31)
Review: Four cuts of pure, unfiltered industrial technoidesigned to lock listeners into an almost meditative state. With a dark, bleep-forward aesthetic, each track here feels made for the murky corners of Berlin's underground scene. Tracks A1 through B1 build an intense, pulsating rhythm that channels the raw energy of a warehouse rave. It's the kind of sound that takes over, sharp-edged yet relentless, drawing power from its very monotony. On B2, 'Rabbit Hole' stands out with a high-end, modular edge. Synthy FX cut through the gritty basslines, adding a dancefloor-focused lift that keeps things captivating. The interplay of dark and dynamic in this release makes it feel alive, with each track contributing to the EP's hypnotic pull.

Review: Kvalia Records continues to solidify its reputation as one of Scandinavia's leading techno labels with the release of another cracking 12", its tenth overall. Swedish label founder Linny Hex brings in techno pioneer Jeroen Search for this one and his Conductor is a four-tracker that blends Search's genre-defining sound with deep, hypnotic drums. As well as the original minimal and captivating techno soundscapes, up-and-coming Swedish producer F.LJ contributes a skilfully executed remix of 'Conductor' that is stripped back and hunched over as it races along with real urgency. This collaboration highlights Kvalia's commitment to pushing techno onwards while supporting both established and emerging artists.

Jinje is a solo project from Lee Malcolm, a founding member of the Leeds-based experimental band Vessels. His music in solo mode is just as singer and hard to categorise as with his band and here on Mesh he veers between electronic, synthetic and organic sound worlds with driving breakbeats topped with gorgeous string sounds, hype-real synths and a shimmering sense of sonic futurism that is awash with melody. These are hugely detailed tracks but the overall picture is never confused as his arrangements ebb and flow with great clarity and make both a physical and emotional impact.

The Cult (5:28)

Jungle Curse (6:16)
Wild Nights (6:46)
Review: Four percussive techno workouts drive this EP, each pushing rhythms and atmosphere alike into forward-thinking territory. Side-1 starts with 'The Cult', a relentless, bass-heavy force built for peak-time energy. The low-end hits hard, while futuristic elements keep it fresh. 'Charm' follows with a rhythmically adventurous approach, weaving breaks and deep bass into the techno frameworkiperfect for DJs looking to push boundaries. On the flip, 'Jungle Curse' layers pounding drums, looping percussion and crisp production into a hypnotic groove. Its weighty bass and driving structure make it an essential tool for deep, rolling sets. Closing out the record, 'Wild Nights' goes full tribal, locking into a hedonistic pulse that feels primal yet otherworldly. If you're looking for different rhythms in techno while still keeping the energy high - plus a heavy dose of futurism - these are well worth checking out.

The opener is one that soon plunges you beneath the surface with smooth synths and bubbly melodies rising up through the rooted rhythms. 'Laluan One/Dua' is on a similar tip and 'G-Nite/Tiga' then brings some more Millsian synth entailments and mind melting rhythms to the fore as things head into outer space. Finally 'Race To The Bottom/Empat' and 'Djago/Lima' closes out this most absorbing mental trip.

Review: Mord sublabel Kazerne specialise in hardcore black labels, each record blazoned with but one silhouetted insignia: that of an arched-backed, sinister-looking hyena. With no backing info on this one as ever, the label top up a profligately churner-outer assembly line of 12"s, with over 15 records issued since 2023. Here Alexander Johannson and Mattias Fridell make their debut, all-aboarding the overdrive bus, squishing their pummel kicks to the point of satu-rave. 'Vegitationen' is a suitable title indeed, as its computational synth ascends evoke the frightful infallibility of mass data capture, leaving us all in vegetative states.

The A-side leads with a thundering rhythm section that drives forward with a sense of urgency that feels both raw and precise. The second track shifts gears slightly, folding intricate percussion into a rolling groove that keeps the energy simmering. On the reverse, the duo ventures into more atmospheric territory, layering subtle synth textures over a steady, hypnotic pulse. With its tight execution and unrelenting focus, this EP solidifies Johansson and Fridell place as stalwarts of the Swedish techno scene.

He has dropped several fantastic albums before now that go from hip-hop to jazz-funk but here he taps into the magic of Chicago house greats like Fingers Inc and Larry Heard. It is a four-track electro exploration that kicks off with 'Who Want Me', a spacious funk workout with smeared synths and driving bass. Review: Jordan GCZ is having a hell of a year. He's already delivered two sublime albums (his debut solo set and one created in collaboration with Detroit legend Terrence Dixon) and here drops another must-check EP, his first for Rawax. 'Making Me Dizzy' sees the Amsterdam-based producer add gorgeously ambient lead lines, lilting TB-303 motifs and funky bass to a classic Motor City techno groove, with the accompanying 'Dub Mix providing a heavier, sweatier and more intoxicating alternative version. 'Tongue Twister' is jazzier and even more intergalactic, sitting somewhere between blissed-out Move D deep house and melodious techno. The dub that accompanies it is pleasingly deep, out there and effects-laden, escorting us even further into deep space. Tip!

Review: EYA boss and London tastemaker Jos completed a successful tour down under earlier in the year and now steps out with this new EP to kick off the Naarm based label, Entered Records. He does so with his uniquely storytelling electro - wispy melodies that convey real meaning and human emotion over compelling rhythms. 'Absence Of Thought' is a chunky bumper to start with, then the Dashiell Breakbeat Rethink is a darker more jungle leaning rework. 'L'Esprit' then layers up massive rubbery kicks with chattering percussion and moody chords before 'Go Beyond' shuts down with an eerie lead synth over marching drums that mean business.

This is our first brush with this artist but a fine one it is too with classic techno melded with new school ideas to great effect. 'Quantum Infiltration' opens up with thumping kicks and busy synth lines burrowing deep into your brain then 'Ultra Rogue Mission' has a darker and harder vibe with moody pads and ice col hi-hats. Review: This record is named after Vedanta, an ancient philosophy based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India. The music, originally composed and produced by Joseph S Joyce and later remixed by Sebastian Mullaert of Minilogue, was greatly inspired, after reading commentaries from Swami Rama Tirtha's biography "The Scientist & Mahatma" - Chapter 1 - Vedanta and The Secret of Success. Now, some nine years later, it gets served up as a remix EP. There's a dark El Choop Reconstruct, a gorgeous ambient version from Sebastian Mullaert, a minimal headscape from Van Bonn, Federson SF goes warm and dubby and then a crisp, tech-edged vibe from Paul 90 ends the EP in style.

First up is Dutch legend Bart Skills with a rework of 'Wasted' that brings out the eerie late night vibes, layers in some flashy trance-tinged synths and lets the raw drums roll. flip it over and you'll find 'Bassdrone' remixed by Teenage Mutants. Review: After a headturning debut release which soon sold out back in May, Detroit Basics is back with more magnificent machine music. And once again it is JR Disc who is serving up the sounds. 'Beautiful Blue Pillow' kicks off and sounds like Kraftwerk making funk electro complete with vocoder vocals and silky grooves. 'Mean Mugg' is a more rough and ready deep house sounds with frazzled synths growing ever more prominent and last of all, 'Under The Ground' shuts down with some stomping drums and glistening melodic pixels that rain down the face for a futuristic feel.
