Can't Help Falling In Love (3:04)
Review: What better way to celebrate the charm of Elvis Presley than with 'Love Me Tender' on limited edition 7" pink heart-shaped vinyl? Featuring the iconic ballad that captured hearts worldwide, this single was originally recorded in 1956 for Presley's film debut, Love Me Tender. It showcases the King's tender vocals and enduring romantic appeal and the heart-shaped design adds a touch of whimsy and nostalgia, making it a perfect tribute to one of the most beloved songs in rock 'n' roll history, as well as a unique slab of wax for the shelves.

Movin' Up (6:12)
Review: French house tastemakers Robsoul return with four outstanding house tracks on vinyl by two talented Australian DJs. This collection features the most sought-after cuts from the three Secret Weapons projects which were originally available only digitally. Additionally, the release includes one exclusive, previously unreleased track, all of which bring these Australian DJs to a broader audience. 'When It Comes To Love' is a punchy one with sustained pads and classic sax, 'Let Me See You Work' is a nice loopy and lo-fi groove and 'Zone' and 'Movin' Up' close out with heady pads and feel-good vibes.

Tune Weaver (2:54)
Review: Spiritual jazz fans are going to rather excited about this new one from the hard working people at P-Vine over in Japan: Chicago saxophonist Prince Billy Mahdi Wright's finest work, 'Summer Love', is now arriving on its own 7" for the first time ever. It is previously lost material that showcases his next level sound though here featuring mainly keyboard instruments as opposed to his more usual saxophone, but that only makes it all the more uplifting. On the flipside is a remix that is just as rare so this one really is an essential record for your collection.

Prince Jamo - "Is There Anybody Out There?" (4:03)
Rootz Lions - "Is There Anybody Dubbing Out There?" (3:59)
Review: Featuring the much-loved Prince Jamo's distinctive vocals and introspective lyrics over Rootz Lions' rich, dub-heavy instrumentals, 'Is There Anybody Out There?' calls you to reflect on humanity's shared struggles and the search for truth. It does so in great style with powerful basslines, echoing brass and rhythmic grooves that capture the essence of classic roots reggae while bringing a fresh, conscious vibe that resonates today. Ideal for fans of meditative, message-driven reggae music, this one by Prince Jamo and Rootz Lions is a deep, roots-reggae collaboration that explores themes of connection, searching, and spirituality.

Free To Be (4:00)
Review: Proh Mic delivers his best work with this new single which sets the stage for an upcoming album that is sure to once more invite us deep into his unique disco-funk world. 'Special Request' is a dance floor anthem but also a tribute to the DJ that is sure to become a Modern funk classic. Produced by Liquid Pegasus, it's a party starter with funky-ass drums and big, irresistible claps under a retro-future vocal. The B-side, 'Free To Be', features Proh Mic singing and rapping about staying authentic in a world that tries to dull our shine. With soulful production by Vitamin D, the track blends fun with deep, life-affirming lyrics and has a truly timeless edge.

Review: Cultured minimal craftsman Bruno Pronsato returns with two "motif-based" cuts for Logistic. Each one has interwoven motifs made from vocals, marimba, piano and pads which combine to play a game of peek-a-boo, constantly shifting throughout the pieces. Pronsato's balance of complex ideas yet accessible grooves allows each motif to stand out while also contributing to the overall narrative. There are aspects of 1980s ECM aesthetics, Morton Subotnick's experimental sounds and a dose of club beats here that once again back up the notion that Pronsato has a fine mastery of intricate composition and rhythmic freshness.

Review: Michael Prophet is a distinctive reggae vocalist with an emotive falsetto and conscious lyrics. Emerging in the late 1970s from Kingston, he rose to prominence working with legendary producer Yabby You, delivering hits that addressed social injustice, spirituality and inner strength. 'Know The Right' by Michael Prophet is one of those roots reggae gems that blends signature conscious lyrics with a smooth, hypnotic groove. His signature falsetto carries a message of wisdom and discernment that urges us to surround ourselves with positive influences. The rhythm section is tight and laid-back and on the flip is a dub for mellow moods and reflective moments.

The A-side, 'Pbppbp,' features loose, live-sounding drum breaks paired with haunting chords creating an eerie, late-night vibe, complemented by soulful guitar lines. First up on the highly effective 7" is 'Pbppbp' with its loose, rolling, live-sounding drum breaks and rather haunting chords which bring an eerie late night edge next to the soulful guitar lines which worm in and out. Review: Parchi Pubblici is an Italian hardware specialist who usually makes music by doing one-take recordings. This is his debut vinyl EP and it features four original tracks with the first three designed as peak-time club anthems, all powered by roaring analogue machines. These tracks are built to make dancefloors sweat and they surely will. The title, 'Pressed Trouble', perfectly encapsulates the EP's energy. 'Clogged Key' is all bleeping synths and rugged low ends, 'Cautela (feat Delia Derbyshire)' is more funky and bouncy, 'Error504' is acid laced and dirty and 'HTSG' is lit up by superb synth arps and cosmic adventuring.

Review: The best catalogue naming convention in all of music belongs to the Club U Nite label, and the beats they offer up ain't bad either. This latest blue 12" is the third volume in their Dee Tax series and brings an array of fine artists to the fore. The sounds are house with a traditional bent - Purple Kush's 'It's A Feelin'' is deep but jacking with jazzy motifs, Mellow Man keeps it classy with a garage swing on 'Touch The Sky', Manhattan Project taps into a 90s New York dub house vibe on 'Get It Right' and a second Mellow Man shuts down with seductive smoothness.

Review: Intime Anthem is a new label that makes a suitable impressive debut here with a various artists offering that explores a leftfield disco sound. Ramozel's 'Nomentum' has deadpan indie vocals and stark mechanical drums with cold wave synths. Parker Bjoske wars monads with twisted synth modulations and slow, purposeful kicks on 'Tempo.' Naimer then switches the mood with a more playful and 80s-inspired sound, bright retro synths and euro-dance grooves on 'Wildejoe.' There is a supple acid-laced majesty to Ivaj Odnode's closer 'Atillol,' which makes this as vital as it as varied.

It's a super smooth sound with drum swaying back and forth, molten synth adding late night and tissue soul and the tender vocal adding intimacy and late night romance. Review: There is a wealth of No Fuss releases all dropping this year and number 12 is a tasteful house four-tracker from various quality artists. Saison's 'Suffer' is up first as a remix from Fouk, and it is a lovely, jazzy, laidback and heartfelt sound with an infectious skip in the drums. The original is just as infused with dusty soul and warming chords and on the flip Saison remixes Pete Moss & Colette's 'Higher' 'into carefree grooves with more noodling melodies and DirtyTwo then keeps the grooves flowing with 'Rymden,' which exudes summery excellence.

Review: The debut album from Ukrainian collective Noneside unites musicians and visual artists under the inspiring words of poet Taras Shevchenko, who said 'Make love, o dark-browed ones.' Framed by a painting from contemporary artist Iryna Maksymova, the music explores the trance and tech house that is destined to bring souls together on the dancefloor this summer and beyond. Shjva opens with fresh and mashed bass and sleek trance pads that are subtle but effective. Lostlojic layer sup deep, bubbly techno drums and bass with an angelic vocal tone and Saturated Color's 'Trancia' is a speedy, scuffed-up tech groove for late-night cruising. Peshka and Yevhenii Loi offer two more future-facing trance-techno fusions packed with feels.

Review: 10000 Lions Sound System brings some serious heat to their final release of 2024. It's a various artists affair with four artists offering up one heavyweight tune each. Spectacular's 'Big Bold & Brave' opens up with raw, guttural vocals over mid-tempo digi-dub rhythms. Bulby Yorke's 'Big, Bold Dub' stirs it back to a more low-end heavy roller but the bright melodies remain. This new one includes four analogue live tracks that explore cerebral techno. Myriad different mods, grooves and tempos are on offer here starting with the puling rhythmic depths of Vardae's 'Pahlevan' then moving on to Kick21's 'Bright Interface', a dark and haunting low-end wobbler. Review: Use Vinyl looks back to two iconic tracks from the 70s and 80s here for source material for a new remix EP by the Vannelli family. Joe T remixes 'Thrill Me' by The Wonderland Band into the sort of direct and funky house sound that brims with early dance music charm while the Vannelli Bros offer their rework of 'Party On' by Pure Energy which comes with plenty of energy for club contexts. Both tracks are presented as Classic Mix versions and bring plenty of new life to the original hits without forgoing the timeless, catchy and meaningful melodies that define the originals. On Hella Personal Film Festival, he teams up with British producer Paul White for a psychedelic blend of soul-funk, booming drums and introspective storytelling. Recorded in London, the album continues where Dark Comedy left off-witty, anxious and deeply reflective. Eagle dissects modern life's absurdities, from social media addiction to racial microaggressions and uses that to craft surreal yet painfully real vignettes. With guest features from Aesop Rock and Hemlock Ernst, these tense anthems explore vulnerability with a cutting sense of humour.

Review: Dream pop loving indie rockers The Pains of Being Pure at Heart announced their reformation last year, having previously called it a day at the end of 2019. While we wait for new music, former label Slumberland Records - the imprint that first pushed the New York combo into the international spotlight - has offered up this slender retrospective focusing on the band's formative years at the tail end of the noughties. Atmospheric, with a uniformly 'big' (if lo-fi) sound (they loved reverb back then), the collected cuts sound like they were recorded at the turn of the nineties rather than at the end of the noughties. Highlights are plentiful though, with our picks including jangly anthem 'Side Ponytail', the brilliantly titled 'Kurt Cobain's Cargidan' and the effortlessly upbeat and life-affirming swell of 'Higher Than The Stars'.

Review: Two-time Grammy Awards winner, MTV Video Award veteran, Brit nominee and icon of the 1980s. Robert Palmer's name may not be as familiar as it once once at the height of music video broadcasting - when his anthem of excess and glamour, 'Addicted To Love', was either fresh off the presses, circa 1986, or still being rolled out as one of the most defining pop clips of all time. Suffice to say, our world - our cultural universe - has shifted since then, and the Batley, West Yorkshire-born, Malta-raised legend isn't necessarily the first artist on your lips when someone asks why the lights are on when nobody's home. That's a crying shame, as beyond that most famous of his tracks there's a big oeuvre to explore. Including 1999's unashamedly sexy, seductive, and slick (perhaps even over-produced) Rhythm & Blues, arguably the most aptly titled record arriving in stock this month.

Review: The Pambele band's debut album blends Afro-Colombian influences taken from their shared heritage with the vivid sounds of 60s psychedelic rock. It's a work rich in "Caribbean creolisation" with traditional Colombian percussion, joyful, rhythmic vocals and intricate guitar melodies all underpinned with wild organ tones. This powerful cross-fertilisation creates a transatlantic but also distinctly Caribbean sound that draws you into a world of exuberant musical atmosphere. The tunes often get you into a trance-like state while combining raw improvisation and dancey rhythms. It's an authentic escape to a very distant part of the world but one with a universal sense of rhythm that cannot be escaped.

Review: Prolfic producer Neiro 'Papik' Poggi founded the Soultrend Orchestra almost 15 years ago as a vehicle for his acid jazz, funk, soul, disco and jazz-funk fantasies. The project has been 'on ice' for a while, with Now Imagine, officially the band's second studio set, appearing a decade after its predecessor. It's a typically musically rich affair with a string of guest vocalists joining the expansive 'orchestra' to run through happy, sun-splashed tracks. Highlights come thick and fast throughout, from a lightly Latin-tinged cover of Sister Sledge disco classic 'Lost In Music' and the Jamiroquai-esque warmth and soul of 'Wiser' (featuring Wendy D Lewis), to the vibraphone-wielding smooth grooves of 'Touched By Your Love' and the glossy jazz-funk-goes-house rainbows of 'You Came Along' (featuring Steve Biondi).

Review: Parade Ground is the Belgian duo of brothers Jean-Marc and Pierre Pauly and they formed this project in 1981 as a way of blending post-punk, coldwave and electronic body music. The Golden Years compiles their influential singles and rare tracks from 1982-1988 and it's a great window into their world of sleek synths, skeletal guitars and expressive, evocative vocals. Collaborating with Front 242's Daniel B. and Patrick Codenys, Parade Ground released seminal works like Moan On The Sly and Man In A Trance and later they worked with Wire's Colin Newman on Dual Perspective. This remastered album includes a press kit with lyrics and photos which chronicle their lasting impact on Belgian electronic music.

Review: Dark Entries welcomes back the Brussels brothers Jean-Marc and Pierre Pauly for this superb collection of B-sides and unreleased tracks. Formed in 1981, Parade Ground pioneered a more emotional take on their homeland's signature electronic body music sound by blending drum machines icy synths and guitars with Jean-Marc's powerful vocals. The Hidden Side spans 1982 to 1989 and explores their cold, dark aesthetic from menacing coldwave tracks to danceable cuts like 'Hollywood (The Sexiest Fish') to magically melancholic freakouts like 'Looking Through Keyholes'.

Review: Jeff Parker and his ETA IVtet are back with their first new music since 2022's Mondays at Enfield Tennis Academy. The album delves into improvised jazz grooves and features longtime collaborators Anna Butterss on upright bass, sax from Josh Johnson and Jay Bellerose on drums. The compositions are carefully crafted to capture the essence of a single night's setlist and reflect the unique atmosphere of the now-defunct Enfield Tennis Academy. Parker channels this space into a beautifully layered and dynamic piece that builds intricate, shifting textures from simple musical ideas that evoke a rich, immersive listen.

Review: Lloyd Parks was born in May 1948 in Kingston, Jamaica, and went on to live a rich life in reggae that made him an icon of the genre, in particular, known for his soulful melodies and fantastic bass playing skills. He began his career in the late 1960s with the Invincibles band before later forming The Termites with Wentworth Vernal. As a solo artist, Parks achieved success with his 1973 hit 'Officially' which also became the title of this sought-after album. He worked with artists like Justin Hinds, Dennis Brown and The Abyssinians and later founded the We The People Band. This reissue brings 'Officially' back into the spotlight where it belongs.

Review: Patriarkh (formerly Batushka) can most succinctly be described as "Orthodox black metal", with their haunting fusion of blackened doom metal married to neo-folk elements including use of a vast array of instruments such as tagelharpa, mandolin, mandocello, hurdy gurdy and stringed dulcimer, as well as the inclusion of a symphony orchestra and choir. Returning over half a decade since 2019's Hospodi, their third full-length Prophet Ilja tells the true story that happened in the band's home area of Podlasie, in the village of Grzybowszczyzna, in the 1930s and 40s, detailing the world of Eliasz Klimowicz, the titular Prophet Ilja, an illiterate peasant who was the leader of the Orthodox Grzybowska Sect, active until the 1960s, cultivating and transmitting the history of the self-proclaimed prophet. Drawing on the myriad forms of Orthodox music, pulling from Byzantine monody, liturgical chant and Russian polyphony, whilst neatly adapting folk and liturgical melodies into their blackened sonic maelstrom, while lyrically delving into texts from the theatre play "Prorok Ilja" and drawing from the messages contained in the works of Wlodzimierz Pawluczuk, the heightened sense of theatrical pastoralism, period accurate aesthetic, and head-melting sonics provide a uniquely religious black metal experience unlike anything else the scene has ever heard, past or present. No corpse paint here, we're afraid.

Synaptic Cliffs however has a bunch of music to release from him starting with this. The tracks "were created with the NCO6.27 for test subjects with brain implants" and the music combines dark, playful techno, electro, industrial, chiptunes, IDM and electronica into moody cuts with a unique energy and clout for the club.

Review: We invite you to relax, sit back, pour a short, stiff drink and sink into some superbly lush and soothing jazz from Peace Flag Ensemble. It is the third album from the collective and one that is more expansive than ever in its pursuit of ambient free-jazz perfection. Things focus on pianist Jon Neher's improvisations. After performing in Germany, Neher realised his piano was often in the background during live shows when it could take a more prominent role. This led to a more melodic and virtuosic approach in which flugelhornist Dalton Lam and saxophonist Paul Gutheil blend beautifully, their playing sounding like an intimate conversation where silence often speaks volumes. Drummer Mike Thievin plays with restrained intricacy, too, while Travis Packer's electric bass adds an adventurous energy.

It tracks a five-year sonic journey through Florence, London and Los Angeles and takes in all the sounds of those places so blends disco, electro, nu-jazz and Japanese City Pop into a rich, genre-spanning sound. True to its name (Pacifico means "peaceful" in Italian) the album captures the reflective calm of travel's end and has collaborations with artists like Kuntessa, VANBASTEN, Natalie Findlay, Jules Apollinaire and others bringing their own depth to the project. The result is a multicultural tapestry of sound that is full of warmth, groove and introspection.

This bumper pack features 16 of Pedro's best works, all of which captivated Africa at the time. His vibrant blend of Agbadja, Cuban fon, jerk, highlife and more unique styles, all of which come with vocals sung in Fon, Mina, Yoruba, French, English and Spanish, add up to one hell of a rich sound. A great testament to the artist's extraordinary legacy.

Review: Considered to be one of "the big four of doom metal" along with Candlemass, Saint Vitus, and Trouble; Alexandria, Virginia's Pentagram are metallic royalty who helped to pioneer the sound laid out in a blueprint by Black Sabbath across the 70s. While active in the underground scene during this decade and taking influences and turning them into experiments in real time, when their first official albums would eventually release in the 80s, the band had already become the project of sole original member Bobby Liebling, who has since been accompanied by a varying array of musicians throughout their decades-spanning tenure. 2004's Show 'Em How is a late-stage example of this formula with Liebling backed by members of Maryland stoner-doom outfit Eternal Void who helped to re-instil some of the menacing malevolence somewhat absent from their 21st century output up to this point. As usual with Pentagram releases, there's a unique spine description, which reads "Further infections to feed your disease." Nice.

Review: Art Pepper's most well known record gets reissued here and it has long remained a masterful showcase of the jazz saxophonist's remarkable artistry. It was recorded in 1960 during a particularly vibrant period of his career and delivers exactly what its title promises: a deeply emotive and powerful performance marked by technical brilliance and heartfelt expression. Tracks like 'Gone with the Wind' and 'I Can't Believe That You're in Love with Me' highlight Pepper's lyrical phrasing and soulful tone as he blends bebop agility with a poignant sensitivity. Supported by a stellar rhythm section, Intensity is a great testament to Pepper's enduring influence on jazz.

Gettin' Together! is a vibrant and joyous record recorded in 1960 and showcasing Pepper's dynamic interplay with a stellar lineup that features pianist Wynton Kelly and trumpeter Conte Candoli. Often seen as a companion to Meets the Rhythm Section, this album exudes a lighter, more spontaneous energy and tracks like 'Whims of Chambers' and 'Bijou the Poodle' highlight Pepper's fluid alto saxophone style. He blends bebop sophistication with West Coast cool and the ensemble's chemistry is undeniable throughout as they create a swinging yet intimate atmosphere on this gem of an album.

Review: Perila returns with a reflective spiritual successor to her 2022 album that comes on Vaagner's sister label A Sunken Mall. The album takes in eight tracks produced between 2021 and 2023 and they all do a fine job of conveying a serene vulnerability with its drifting, ethereal soundscapes smeared with echoing voices, droning guitars and resonant textures. It's like a whispered conversation during quiet moments and once again makes for a world that doesn't need to be understood, only felt. The Air Outside Feels Crazy Right Now reminds us that finding inner peace through music can counter the chaos of the external world and help turn fragility into strength.

Review: On its latest deep dive into the Jamaican reggae archives, the Doctor Bird label has returned to the early years of one of the style's most iconic producers, Lee 'Scratch' Perry. The music showcased on this two-disc set was initially released on Perry's own Upsetter imprint in 1969-70 and contains a mix of vocal numbers, instrumental 'versions' and alternate takes from the archive. There's naturally tons of highlights amongst the 50-plus tracks on show, including the organ-rich ska flex of The Upsetters' 'Night Doctor', the soulful rocksteady sweetness of 'Kiddy-O' by the Silvertones, the slow-dance excellence of Busty Brown's 'I Can't See Myself Cry About You', the low-slung shuffle of The Upsetters' 'Bab Thool' and the bona fide anthem that is 'Django Shoots Again' by Val Bennett and the Upsetters.

His influence on dub will never be matched, his back catalogue will forever turn up some treasure or other you haven't heard. And now we can add to that this, a tribute album from his son Omar. Perry Jr is an accomplished performer in his own right and he shows that on Channeling Lee Scratch Perry, which features Olivier Gangloff who produced Perry Snr's final studio album. It's a blend of the fat, pillowy low ends Perry was so well known for with conscious lyrics, upbeat drums and plenty of whimsical and alluring melodies.

The tracks feature some fine guests such as Great Link, Noir Deco and Memory Ghost who add to the allure of these retro-future synth and disco charms. Review: Back in 1999, four years before the release of what many perceive to be the self-titled debut full-length from Canadian post-hardcore heroes Billy Talent, the band first released Watoosh! under their original moniker of Pezz (which they subsequently changed after running into legal trouble). Whilst receiving a CD re-release in 2005 via Atlantic Records, the album has never been made available on vinyl until now. Remastered by Harry Hess at HBomb Mastering and distributed by longstanding Canadian punk label Dine Alone (home to the likes of Alexisonfire and City & Colour), the newly revitalised tracks bear all the trademarks of the band's eccentric yet gnarly approach to punk with a notably less reliant focus on instantaneous hooks prevalent in their major label latter days. While the multiple blank tracks of silence have naturally been omitted for the wax pressing, the one instrumental piece "Track 13" remains as the re-titled 'Organ Interlude' before closing with the blistering cover of The Tragically Hip's 'New Orleans Is Sinking'.

Entirely crafted with traditional jazz instrumentation, Stress Killer blends jazz and electronic influences with tracks like 'Fuck Yeah' nodding to Detroit techno and Chicago house. It now branches out with its first various artist release featuring some tasteful tune makers starting with Pheek. He brings some loose percussive energy and wonky drum funk to his opener then Mod303 layers in dreamy and immersive pad work to deft, subtle drums on 'Paris City Zoo.' Night No Tori Vs Hubble keeps it deep and dubby with the late-night introspection of 'Deja Vu' then Sten's 'Slope' is a trippy afterhours sound with tumbling synth smears and percolating dub tech beats.

They have been dripping music since 2018 and this now arrives as their fifth full-length overall. It offers a stunning rocksteady tribute to one of the 20th century's greatest songwriters-Carole King. This unique reinterpretation blends King's timeless melodies with the soulful grooves of rocksteady for something that will please fans of the OG sounds while also appealing to those who like a more modern style. Featuring striking artwork by Peter O'Toole, this one is packed with classic songwriting with a reggae twist.
