Review: Long Island Sound steps out here with an enthralling full-length on Oath that explores myriad mystical deep house depths. There is a live feel to the skipping beats and organic percussion of the opener which comes alive on rousing chords. 'Photos' has trance-like pads that was over you in waves as the broken beats soar and then the opener gets remixed by Otik before tracks like 'Your Love' immerse you in more emotionally wrought synthscapes and precision-engineered beats. 'Fracture' is another well-designed sound with ghostly drums and pads and it then gets remixed into a shuffling garage-tinged beat that might be the best of the lot.

Review: Given that he's been active as a producer since the dawn of the 90s, it would be fair to say that Sven Vath is well worthy of an authoritative, expansive retrospective. That's certainly what we get here on this quadruple-vinyl mix of classic productions and fresh, eye-catching remixes. It's the latter that dominate the early stages of the collection - see Adam Port's hypnotic, didgeridoo-sporting revision of 'Ritual of Life', Speedy J's acid-fired stomp through 'Ballet-Fusion' - before Vath showcases some of his choice cuts. There's naturally to set the pulse racing, from the twisted, sub-heavy thump of 'Cala Llonga' and the tactile hypnotism of 'Sounds That Control Your Life', to the electroclash-meets-Kraftwerk flex of 'Dein Schweiss' and the ambient techno excellence of 'The Day After', a 21- minute epic from 1995 produced alongside Steffen Britzke as Astral Pilot.

Review: Celebrated UK producers and DJs O'Flynn and Frazer Ray (who was previously known as Soundbwoy Killah) join forces here for new collaborative album Shimmer on Ninja Tune's Technicolour label. The record pays homage to the UK dance music the pair so loves from speed garage to breaks and hardcore. As such it is a record that takes you to the heart of the dancefloor but also offers a great escape from everyday life with evocative synth soundscapes over compelling beats. As much as there is plenty of physicality here, there is also tenderness of emotion and deftness of design that brings an artful quality to their take on party sounds. Top stuff.

Founded in 1996 by DJ duo Danski and Delmundo, Vengaboys first found success in the Netherlands with singles 'Parada de Tettas' and 'To Brazil!' Their breakthrough single 'Up & Down' propelled them to global fame, especially in the U.S. The follow-up hit 'We Like To Party! (The Vengabus)' solidified their international success, earning gold status for their debut album Greatest Hits! and a nomination for Best Breakthrough of the Year at the 1999 MTV Music & Video Awards. Review: Real-deal 90s ethereal breaks from the electronic music duo Way Out West. First released in 1997, this was not their best-known outing: only when this Bristolian duo was later joined by singer Omi (Emma Everett) did this happen, and this Deconstruction debut had only seen their instrumental incarnation so far. Nevertheless, this is a distinctly of-its-time record, offering blinding, game soundtrack-informed fusions of chillout flourishment with ascendant breaks-phoria and only vaguely touching on the theme of the wild West, ironically separate from the electronic music enthusiast's main imaginary. The record's non-breaksy moments are well worth noting too, with the slidden guitars of 'Earth' and chattering dub atmospherics of 'Dancehall Tornado' serving as the two most out-there numbers.
