Review: ***B-STOCK: Sleeve damaged but otherwise in excellent condition***

The talented Greek duo Artificial DRM - already renowned for their contributions to Koslif, De Stijl and Semantica Records - come through for the sixth Alpengluhen release. 'Enigma' is a curious experimental, IDM and ambient release, neither settling for out-and-out categorisability nor giving up the danceable ends of things and happily resting in the crosstalk between genres. All circling around similar tempi but with some variation therein, these four unnamed tracks reveal themselves, together with their textural details, only as slowly as a desert landscape might reveal itself to a parched wanderer; only through somatic repetitions, such as endless walking, panting, and squinting - compare these to deep listening and/or uninterrupted turntable playing - might we make out the mirages or fata morgana through the horizontal heat haze.

Techno
Daniel[I] - "Carabus" (6:47)
Alex Tom - "Paradisaea" (7:04)
Kontinum - "Octandria" (6:43)
Mary Yuzovskaya & Claudio PRC - "Marmor" (6:13)
Review: Here is the third and final chapter of the 'Systema Naturae' series on Berlin-based 012, with fresh deep techno visions from newcomers such as Daniel(i) from Belgium (Whispering Signals) who ventures into foreboding and murky territory on the off-kilter journey of 'Carabus', and there's the return of Greek producer Alex Tomb who gets into some hypnotic minimal techno on 'Paradisaea'. Elsewhere, Leipzig-based Kontinum pushes into full mental overdrive on the strobing cut 'Octandria' and finally you have the collaboration between Mary Yuzovskaya and label head Claudio PRC titled 'Marmor' which perfectly nails that ethereal Sound Of Rome vibe.

Daniel[i] - "Contemplate" (7:57)
MBM - "Crystalline" (6:23)
Polygonia - "Pearl Of Nian" (6:24)
Toki Fuko - "9128" (6:51)
Virya - "Dome" (4:56)
Review: MBMUSIC Ltd is a fledging label that serves up its first various artist release here. It is an enthralling five-tracker that opens up with the ocean-deep atmospheric techno of Daniel[i]'s 'Contemplate.' MBM then gets more busy with the percussive clatter of 'Crystalline' and Polygonia's aqueous dub techno roller 'Pearl Of Nian' is another unusual sound that draws you in deep. Toki Fuko's '9128' is more menacing and sounds like a deserted factory floor after all the staff have left and V?RYA's 'Dome' is a twitchy and restless broken beat excursion that has you looking over your shoulder.

Dycide - "Raijin"
Daniel[i] - "A Moment Of Confidence"
Cyspe - "Morning Revelations"
Atomic Moog - "Floating Motion"
Review: Lowless commence the "Confluence" compilation series in fine style with some subliminal trips through the deep techno landscape, guided by four accomplished travelers. Dycide's "Raijin" opens up the record with a brooding piece heavily tipped towards the low end and tastefully minimal in its execution. Daniel[i] has a little more bite in the rhythmic dynamics of "A Moment Of Confidence" while maintaining the subterranean mood of the release. Cyspe takes things slow and spacious on "Morning Revelations", a beautifully hazy rendition of the distant end of the dance, and Atomic Moog drops a more pronounced groove and spooked out pads over the aptly titled "Floating Motion" to round the record off nicely.

Anthony Linell - "Ice Demon" (5:47)

Luigi Tozzi - "Kamayuk" (version) (6:39)
Daniel I - "Beneath Tension" (7:17)
Review: ***B-STOCK: Sleeve damaged but otherwise in excellent condition***

Danza Nativa has done a great job of establishing its own unique sound in the techno sphere over the last half a decade. Now it marks the occasion of its fifth birthday with a two-part compilation that showcases its avant-garde take on the genre. They tell us that part one has been assembled as a sort of "mental (as in pensive, not deranged) techno album that takes the form of some direct tools for working DJs. Anthony Linell, Claudio PRC, Luigi Tozzi and Daniel[I] are those who step up and explore abstract, drone, deep and plenty in between.
