A Little Love (5:30)
Diska Tek! (6:44)
Review: Josh Ludlow shows that he knows a thing or two about crafting superb arps and lush prog house records with this new outing on Nocturne Music. 'Mindways' is a brilliantly colourful opener with neon lines and bubbling sequences over fleshy drums. 'Touch' channels a bit of Metro Area style nu-disco production with its cowbells, textured bassline and late-night allure, and 'A Little Love' then gets more deep cut and steamy with some sensuous vocals and vast, pillowy kicks. Last of all is the more textural and raw tech-disco stepper 'Diska Tek!' to complete the package.

Review: Little-recognised German singer Luisa (Luise Grewe) laid down two brilliant Italo disco EPs in the pinnate period of 1988-89. Both deserve much more recognition than they have now (even after both were revived by ZYX Records in 2017), and as time marches on, they'll certainly continue to see it, assuming second-round reissuers Vintage Pleasure Boutique are to have their way. 'Parole' was the first of two of said EPs: sung in Italian, the title song is a lyrical masterwork, despite its kitsch disco backing: "I know about you and your new adventures... Words, spoken with your modesty... They were nothing but words." With a title like 'Parole' reflecting conditional regard in a relationship context, and such a melancholic-euphoric infusion of sound, the more rhapsodic of disco DJs won't want to miss this one.

Silicon Boogie (5:07)
Review: UK-based electronic musician Luke's Anger (aka Luke Sanger) is a 20+ year scene veteran who a new four-track electro EP that's both nostalgic and future-focused. Known for his genre-hopping rave output and live experimental techno sets, often gracing stages like Berghain, Sanger returns to his banging roots here. 'Particle Swarm' opens with squelchy synth textures, while 'Threshold Rider' bounces with infectious 808 energy. The title track builds euphoria through fluttering rhythms, and 'Silicon Boogie' closes things with funky digital chaos. With nods to sci-fi electro and UK bleep techno, Ceiling Walker is a tightly engineered ride through bass-driven, mechanical funk built for serious body movement.

Review: Barcelona-based Italian label Dance Conmigo makes a bold debut with a four-track release that is fully aimed at igniting dance floors. The opener from Lukinsky sets the tone with a dreamy, nostalgic journey you won't want to let go of while Elgo Blanco raises the tempo, perfectly bridging day-to-night vibes. On the B-side, Flavio Folco's signature style shines on a track featuring a dynamic live bassline and energetic arrangement. Last but not least, the EP closes with a collaboration from Daryl System & Mr. Fantasy that delivers a warm 80s-inspired groove and cosmic harmonies that transport you to another dimension.

Bigfoot (2:46)
Soko (6:52)
Review: While Hell Yeah! Recordings has devoted much time to the Balearic end of its output of late, the Italian label has released plenty of future disco and evocative deep house over the years too. The imprint's latest EP, from Fderico Constantini under his now familiar Lumindisco alias, largely sits in the former camp - the the influence of Balearic warmth and colour can definitely be heard on the dreamy nu-disco rush of opener 'Solero'. Constantini doffs a cap to dusty blends of wonky deep house and r&b on the Detroit-influenced excellence of 'Jazzclub', before opting for a slow, trippy and chugging slow house flex on 'Bigfoot'. To round things off, he joins the dots between percussive Afro-cosmic vibes and triple-time electronic highlife ('Sako').

Review: G.J. Lunghi's 'Acapulco Nights,' originally released in 1984, returns with a reissue on ZYX Music, celebrating its timeless appeal. This Italo-Disco classic blends moody, epic piano melodies with influences from freestyle and disco music, creating a magical soundscape. Side-1 features the original and its instrumental version, both thriving on the nostalgic essence of the 80s dance scene. The romantic atmosphere and epic piano lines remain as strong as ever. Side-2 introduces two exciting remixes by Flemming Dalum. His remix updates the track for modern listeners, adding fresh energy while respecting the original's charm. The remix edit provides a concise, yet impactful version. Thanks to ZYX Music, this reissue brings 'Acapulco Nights' back to the forefront, allowing a new generation to experience its enchanting allure. Italo House forever!

Lungo - "I Have Some Bad News" (6:25)
Lungo - "Bem O Bom" (5:43)
Numero 6 - "Choubidou" (5:44)
Review: Five years after launching (via a fine EP from Vitess), Chat Noir Records' offshoot Chat Noir Tools - a self-styled 'club oriented experiment lab' - notches up its 15th EP. It's a split affair, with two tracks apiece from label regular Lungo and French graffiti artist/graphic designer turned producer Numero 6. The latter kicks off the EP with 'Do It Again', where woozy, pitched-down vocal samples, drowsy deep house chords and spacey electronic noises ride a crunchy, formative Chicago house beat, before returning to round off the EP with the analogue-rich nu-disco quirkiness of 'Choubidou'. Sandwiched in between you'll find Lungo's contributions - the electro/deep house hybrid 'Bem O Bom', and the synth-heavy nu-disco squelch of 'I Have Some Bad News', where Mr Oizo style electronic motifs and colourful chords catch the ear.

Review: You can never stop good music from making it out into the world and so it is that new label Secret Keeper from Ukraine makes its bow here despite what is going on back home. Luschn steps up for the first EP and sets a high standard with it from the off. 'Track 1' is tech with a menacing undercurrent and an undulating rhythm while 'Track 2' gets a little more loose in its loops. The mood switches on the b-side, where disco-tech comes to the fore and some deft melodies bring a cosmic feel to 'Track 3'. Last of all, 'Track 4' is nice and dry, stripped back and whacked out tech from another planet.

No Floor (2:54)
Review: The ever-popular and always innovative Dark Entries welcomes Lust Pattern for more deviant electro explorations here and i isn't the first time the artists has graced the label in such fashion: Ryan Armbridge has previously done so as Linea Aspera many times before, exploring coldwave revivalist sounds alongside Zoe Zanias. With this alias, though, he looks to post-punk and electro-funk for inspiration. Opener 'Forming Lines' is redolent of Drexciyan squelch with plenty of live drumming powering it on. 'Choreography' has a similarly aquatic feel but with faster drums and more urgent funk and 'It's Right There In Front Of You' then slows to a predatory and menacing crawl. 'No Floor' is a motorik workout with the squelchiest of mutant synth sounds and rickety rhythms.

Review: Luxus Varta really shows his class on this sublime new EP, Retrofiction, for Hilltown Disco. It is richly layered with sound and emotion and plenty of intelligent synth designs from the off. The A-side brings plenty of magical melodic work with 'Total Ghosting' ring a jittery beat with silky arps and textured bass, while 'Modulation Source' has that classic eerie electro vibe and cyborg funk in its bones. 'Full Duplex' is a truly slamming cut then 'Wrong Target' ducks and dives on snappy drum kicks and taught, twanging bass. The final bit of chaos is 'Off Screen' with its twitchy stabs and punchy low ends.

Hold On (Crackazat remix) (6:35)
Review: LUXXURY (born Blake Robin) is the LA Beatmaker who really comes correct on this new EP on Nolita Records. It features four of his freshest tunes to date and if the title is anything to go by it could be the start of a fine new series. Things start all sensuous on 'Let's Stay Together' before the stylish cosmic disco Rhdoes and smooth grooves of 'Don't Give Up (I Believe In You)' and breezy, hip swing charms of 'Pleasure' make a great impression. 'Two Hearts' rides on nice languid bass riffs and last of all comes the upbeat, piano laced and hands in the air jam, 'Hold On (Crackazat remix).'

Da Ya Think I'm Turkish? (6:00)
I'm Petula (6:48)
Review: Best known for offering up a mixture of brightly coloured nu-disco and synth-tastic disco-house, Luxxury has always had a lesser-known side hustle as a re-editor and bootleg remixer. It's this hat that he's working on "Luxxury Reworks Volume 2". Up first is "Uh Huh, I Like It", a rolling, house-style revision of a reggae-fired disco favourite smothered in chunky beats and filter sweeps. He turns his attention to a slightly lesser-celebrated disco gem on "Do Ya Think I'm Turkish?", successfully lightly tooling up a Moog-laden Middle Eastern cover version of Rod Stewart classic "Do You Think I'm Sexy?", before unleashing the EP's standout moment on side B. Chugging, tactile and more loved-up than an MDMA-fuelled swingers party, "I'm Petula" is as sweet an AOR disco edit as you'll hear all year.

Tonight (4:52)
Review: After the first pressing sold out in quick time back in August, LA producer Luxury has done the right thing and opted to repress this collection of reworks. So, if you're after a touch of dancefloor opulence, this series in which he breathes new life into everything from yacht disco gems to platinum-selling rock anthems could be for you. The producer is in good form on volume five, variously offering up a swirling, gently dubbed-out and pleasingly Balearic take on a pop rock favourite ('Into The Future'), a throbbing revision of a poodle perm-sporting synth-pop/soft rock anthem ('Burn Burn Burn') and a chunky, tactile, disco-tinged, soft-focus re-imagining of the George Michael-esque ('Tonight'). Naturally, all are tastefully executed and add more than enough low-end weight to please contemporary dancefloors.

We're All Gonna Die (5:24)
Review: Luxxury has been responsible for some barnstorming edits already over the course of his career, so hopes are naturally high for the Los Angeles-based producer's latest collection of beefed-up reworks. He hits the ground running with a chugging, tastefully tweaked rework of George Michael's 'Careless Whisper', which makes the track sound like a cosmic take on Sade (that's a good thing by the way), before heading to 80s rock/electrofunk fusion on 'Black Curtains'. Over on the flip, 'Black Magic Reaper' is a drifting, dubbed-out Balearic blues gem, while 'We're All Gonna Die' is a subtly house-infused, electric-piano laden disco dancer of the highest order.

Disco 82 (6:00)
Review: LUXXURY's 'Reworks Volume 7' serves up irresistible disco edits, transforming classics into fresh, dancefloor-ready versions with a signature flair. Opening with 'Is It Real, Now?', LUXXURY reimagines Empire of the Sun's 'Walking on a Dream' into a more melodic and expansive experience, adding layers that amplify its epic feel. On 'Rap Chore', Blondie's 'Rapture' is slowed down to a funky, slick groove, highlighted by a smooth guitar riff that enhances its iconic cool factor. Side-2 kicks off with 'Groove Prove', a classy, disco-infused take on Madonna's 'Get Into The Groove', capturing the catchy energy of the 80s with a fresh twist. Finally, 'Disco 82' brings a late-night Latin-inspired vibe that's perfect for setting the mood as the night unfolds. Each track offers LUXXURY's unique touch, making this collection of edits a must for fans of inventive and stylish disco reworks.

Review: Electro monarchs Maelstrom, Locked Club and RLGN return to EP-making with a four-track array of acid bangers, happily working together on a split record to celebrate the pan-European electro scene. Their offering is unequal in quantity (2 Maelstrom and 3 Locked Club tunes) but is resolutely equal in heat; 'LA Nuit Est A Toi' is Maelstrom's standout, bleepy and suffocating in its generative, janky fright. Locked Club and RLGN follow up, 'Kill Me' being the best and most suicidally pushy techno track to soundtrack our nightmares.

Review: Whiskey Disco #74 marks a return to classic form for this long-running and consistently-worth-checking label. Following Michael The Lion's impressive single, the label now offers a collection of expertly sampled tracks tailored for summer fun. The A side features a hidden gem from Cole Medina which is finally making its debut on the label. This track is set to elevate rooftop parties, poolside gatherings, or any high-energy event while the flip side comes from Love Athletics wh delivers 'All of My Love,' a vibrant track with a cheeky vocal sample, driving bass groove, and nods to 'Sex Shooter.' The release concludes with Sleazy McQueen's analogue madness which blends pulsating drums and hypnotic grooves with a surprising twist.

Review: Z Records' ongoing 'Attack The Dancefloor 'series of compilation style vinyl EPs has long been a reliable source of disco-fired excellence, and this 21st edition is another high-quality affair. We're first treated to a superb Jimpster revision of recent Mistura single 'Want Me Back', where Jemini's spoken word vocal, jazzy keys and spacey synth sounds rise above loose-limbed deep house beats and wiggly TB-303 lines, before Birdee drops a genuinely joyous, organic-sounding disco-house take on 1991 classic 'Do What You Feel' (now credited to Joey Montenegro, rather than his now retired Joey Negro alias). Elsewhere, Lee's own rework of Lakeshore Commission's Bluey collaboration 'In The Light' is a smooth, soulful, string-drenched delight and the veteran producer's 'Destination Boogie' tweak of Destiny II's 'Play To Win' is a revivalist '80s electrofunk delight.

It is co-founder Emo Omar who features both solo and in collaboration with Luje from Club Pizza while two exciting new French talents Chud and Vivant also make their mark. 'Pollen' is a bright and hooky melodic electro sound then 'You & Me' gets more percussive, with old school cow bells staying busy next to all sorts of wonky synth work. 'Tomorrow's Made Of Breaks' is built on rigid funk and trippy synth bleeps and 'Zeus' shuts down with some retro-future vocoder vocals. This is a great return from a label we hope now pushes on.

Review: Extramusical hugeness from Texas's best experimental electro outing, Science Cult. A name like 'Commuting Observables', when lent to a V/A mini-album, is abstract enough to immerse us in the implied concept; it conjures a mental image of a glaucous laboratory of sorts, in which a cadre of sonic mad scientists toil tirelessly to yield the batch of effervescent sense-smushers you hear here. Be warned, this isn't your bog-standard, one-or-two-part acid-analog jam EP; no, every track and alias here plays out like a different iteration of some carefully spliced yet still egregious biogenetic experiment; monster faunamechs bursting free from their respective vitreal nutri-vats, and embarking on respective misanthropic rampages, all leaving trails of mimetic polyalloy gunge behind them. Were we to choose one of said bio-beasts as our fighter, it'd have to be Syrte's 'I'm A T-Shirt', shortly run up by a tie between Fleck Esc' 'Unrefined Intentions' and Ben Pest's 'From AU'. But we have to say, none of this music is standard fare techno: all of it is really quite wild.

This collaborative project sees ritmiq teaming up with Lewba and Louis for the 'Signals' EP, a heady exploration of spacey club sounds. Sukuma (Eddie C remix) (5:49)
Review: Sukuma by Sandy B & LJ Simon is a delightful blend of electronic funk and house music, released with an accompanying remix by Eddie C. On Side-1, the original track exudes a downtempo funk vibe infused with elements of house music, creating an irresistible groove reminiscent of 80s funk. Lead vocals by Sandy B add a dynamic and soulful dimension to the track, enhancing its overall energy and appeal. On Side-2, Eddie C's remix of 'Sukuma' injects fresh energy into the mix with additional dance elements that elevate the funk party to new heights. The remix lively rhythms and a captivating main synth line that transports listeners to a vibrant dancefloor atmosphere. With its infectious beats and charm, 'Sukuma' and its remix offer a unique chance to wow the dancefloor with something different and fun.

My Baby Just Cares For Me (Afro Sunset mix) (6:23)
Review: Nina Simone's rendition of 'My Baby Just Cares for Me' stands as a definitive interpretation of this jazz standard, with her distinct, soulful style infusing the track with fresh charm. Originally recorded in 1957, the song gained new life decades later, reaching the UK top ten in 1987 after it appeared in a perfume commercial. Simone's piano work shines, blending playful syncopation with bluesy phrasing, while her voice adds an intimate, deeply expressive layer. Her version transformed this classic into a timeless, iconic piece, reintroducing her genius to a new generation and solidifying her lasting influence in jazz.

Polyfan Polyphenix - "Polymorph 2" (7:02)
Review: The cultured Movida label rolls out more of its tasteful tech and minimal jams with the Water Drop EP Part 1. Somfay opens up proceedings with 'Arborvitae' (A Voice Like Water) which is a zoned out roller with chords that encourage you to gaze off to the future. The b-side starts with Luc Ringeisen & Funk E's 'Treinta Y Siempre', a tender electronic lullaby with gently broken beats and then things get much more scuffed up and dubby with Polyfan Polyphenix's 'Polymorph 2' which is a languid rhythm that makes you want to move nice and loose.

Lazer Man - "Fuck The Bass" (5:22)
Review: Spooky Wooky return with a newly nourished Pandora's box worth of tunes, welcoming four new producers each for their own scare, as well as an opening fourfold fright. Joining forces only under the name Spooky Wooky, 'Cauchemard Ambulant' puns on the French term for "waking nightmare" terming it a "walking nightmare", with fidgety, motile synth snaps and pops aligned alongside bow can scrape samples and strange monstrous gurgles. Our faves among the solo cuts have to be Lazer Man's 'Fuck The Bass' and Gogo Gadgeto's 'FREAK', both of which seem to convey a sort of crazed elvish otherworld.

Review: It's rather hard to nail the Halloween dance vibe and yet also keep things light and jumpy, but the latest 'Out Of The Crypt' V/A compilation by the sweet folks over at Spooky Wooky have done just that. In fact, they're an entire label dedicated to the cartoon vampire-batty, kitsch smiling pumpkinned, brains-starved nuts-and-bolts-Frankenstein'ed theme: the propulsive monster-mashes therein are just as wicked and weird, with opener 'Je Suis Dans La Nuit' deploying reflective eskimo synths and crepuscular bass progressions; Phase O'Matic's 'Diskotech' making use of raw, flitty bleep leads and dead-of-night screams; and Lazer Man's 'Ozonar 12' opting for hollowed-out dub techno stabs and slinky minimal movements down below.

Tallac - "Chemtrail Surfers" (6:30)

Hypersensitive - "Disco Homicide" (4:19)
Review: Amsterdam's Bordello a Parigi's ongoing Diamonds In The Night series has not only proved to be a reliable source of new - if authentically old sounding - Italo-disco, Hi-NRG and proto-Eurodance, but also a brilliant platform for new and up-and-coming artists. Volume seven in the series is another strong offering. It begins with the tops-off, melody-driven Hi-NRG joy of Tallac's 'Chemtrail Surfers' and concludes with the vocoder-heavy early morning dark bew wavce disco of 'Disco Homicide' by Hypersensitive. Sandwiched in between you'll find the tough, throbbing, strobe-lit and sweat-soaked hedonism of Luksek's 'Tropicale' and the Bobby Orlando and early Pet Shop Boys influenced excellence of 'That Moment' by Francesco Cascella.

Turin's Bunkereeno Kollektiv and ITALIA90 have come together to launch their own new label Anna Records and it debuts with a split EP from Tools 4 Seduction and Lachina. The Argentinian former goes first with the Italo-infused sound of 'Like on VHS' full of dreamy chords and retro-future drums. 'Choruscan' is brighter and happier with cheery chords and a wonky baseline brings the vibes. On the B-side, Lachina who hails from Turin flips the vibe with more strident disco-techno sounds and direct cosmic energy on 'Out Of The Past'. His 'Metallic Rain' then brings flashy synth arps and a speedy intergalactic groove.

Review: Cititrax's first Tracks 12" sampler did a good job in showcasing material from some of the Brooklyn-based label's favourite contemporary producers. This follow-up, arriving only a few short months after the first, aims to do the same. Returning for his second appearance, Tsuzing kicks things off with the razor-sharp shuffle of "Nonlinear War", whose intoxicating electronics and wild synth lines recall Brown Album-era Orbital, before London-based L/F/D/M takes a trip into bleak techno territory with the acid-laden "Mouth Holes". Flip for Silent Servant's deliciously grandiose, muscular electro-disco workout "The Touch", and the clanking industrial percussion, EBM attitude and humming electro beats of Maelstrom's "Lithium".

Review: Two silky sides of Brazilian disco soul on Mr Bongo's perennial Brazil 45s series. First up, long-haired lothario samba fusionista Marcos teams up with Leon Ware for a pristine polished piece of early 80s disco funk. Golden harmonies, staccato vocals and a super juicy bassline; it's not hard to see why it was his best selling single. Flip for the equally smooth "Alleluia" from Brazilian boogie gospelist; this one is all about the percussion heavy breakdown. Proper sunshine block party business.

Review: Southern Magic is a sub-label of Secret Society Chile, but there is nothing submissive about the sounds of this new various artists 12". Valerio Vaudano soundtracks the end of the party with a big house bouncer full of vamping chord energy and euphoric little vocal stabs that cannot fail to send people home happy. Luca Piermattei then welcomes you to the after party with scuffed up and frazzled deep house drums under mind melting synth modulations on 'Quilmes.' Flip it over for VICARI's fizzing but feel good tech house on 'Residual Bitterness' and Lootbeg's brilliantly futuristic 'Transitions,' which is alive with alien lifeforms and a crispy tech beat.

The Lumberjacks In Hell chief serves up five typically disco oriented cuts on Games Change; there's the boogie-down vibe of 'Head Back In The Game' featuring a smooth vocal, followed by the late night mood music of 'Keep On Stepping' (extended) featuring another brilliant vocal performance by talented singer Lyma. Over on the flip, they treat you to the low slung affair 'Funk Money' and truly the sensual number 'Popping My Cherry'.

Now that community comes out in force to celebrate five years of the label and club night, presenting a cast of underground operators singing from the same hymn sheet. Whatever stripe of electro you're into, you're sure to find something to sink your gnashers into here. Keep an extra attentive ear out for the opening track from W1BO, the sadly departed Wibo Lammerts, who the five-track release is dedicated to.
