Selected Works '89 vinyl

Dirk Deseaver is widely regarded as something of an underground hero - a Belgian producer whose mid-to-late'80s productions joined the dots between minimal wave, EBM, industrial and new beat. One of his best-loved projects is Danton's Voice, an alias he used to release a handful of EPs in 1989. This mini-album brings together the best of that work in remastered form. Highlights are plentiful, from the throbbing, strobe-lit new beat hypnotism of 'Yoruba', to the TB-303-fired acid trip of 'Magic Mushroom' and post-EBM creepiness of 'Kick Your'. The alternative mixes on side B are well worth a listen too, especially the sublime (and lusciously melodic) rework of 'Yoruba'.
