  1. Ananas (8:02)
  2. Orient Star (7:23)
  3. Dooga (5:02)
Review: A year on from his first outing for the label, Boris Lukic brings his Ajvar Soundsystem project back to Californian disco outlet Take Away. He starts in scintillating fashion with "Ananas", a sweet and boozy chunk of energetic tropical disco rich in dubbed-out sax riffs, rubbery bass and plenty of pitched-up percussion. It's sweaty, celebratory and very, very good. Over on the flip, "Orient Star" is a heady, intoxicating and glassy-eyed chunk of Middle Eastern influenced disco-chug, while closer "Dooga" bobs along on a wave of compressed bass, loose drum machine beats, jangling guitars and high-octave female vocals.

  1. Got 2 Be Loved (7:19)
  2. A Rose Is A Rose (6:30)
Review: Eccentric, California-based imprint Take Away has put out some impressive 12" singles since launching earlier in the year. Predictably, this two-tracker from the little-known Soul Reductions is another stone cold killer. A-side "Got To Be Loved" - a bouncy, pitched-up disco-house floorfiller that sits somewhere between Tiger & Woods and late '90s "French Touch" house - leads the way, sounding like the kind of cut that will quickly raise the temperature out on the dancefloor. Flipside "A Rose Is A Rose" is a deeper and woozier offering, delivering a rolling house re-interpretation of a boogie-era electrofunk gem with added filter effects.

  1. Lamia Tobira - "Umami Dance" (7:44)
  2. Edith Folky - "Cognac Cookery" (5:10)
  3. Karol Themsel - "Have You Seen Al?" (4:29)
  4. Duane PaleUmami Dance - "Give Tony A Slice" (5:12)
Review: Four talented chefs join forces and present the first volume of Amuse-Bouche, served courtesy of new label Take Away - based out of sunny Los Angeles. The label proudly states that it delivers music for your breakfast, lunch and dinner. On the A side we have the hyperspeed disco tool "Umami Dance" by Lamia Tobira, followed by the sweet edit of an underground goodie by Edith Folky named "Cognac Cookery". On the flip, get your groove on with the funked-up "Have You Seen Al?" by Karol Themsel before dessert is served by Duane Pale's wicked B side dub "Give Tony A Slice". Take notice, this is not a one-man show, together all four erase the distinction between sweet and savoury.
