MRCC 880 - MIDI Router Flexibility, Configuration Without a PC

The MRCC 880, with dedicated per port routing buttons, makes routing MIDI connections super quick! Simply select an input, then pick which outputs to route to. MIDI merging is automatic. Status and activity are displayed on per-port LED indicators. More advanced features such as Filtering, Channel Split, Panic and MIDI monitoring are configured with dedicated buttons. When your performance setup is complete, save it for recall later. All without needing a PC for configuration.

It's an ultra-stable hardware MIDI-Masterclock generator & has a great knob to give you full control over the tempo of your performances.

The midiclock generates incredibly accurate MIDI Clock messages.

It has two DIN MIDI outputs to connect to your gear. The clock signal can be distributed to more than two slaves by using MIDI Thru and you can start and stop everything with a single button.

Simply attach all devices that have MIDI Clock slave capabilities: Sequencers, synthesizers, drummachines and software like 'Live' from Ableton.

How to actually set the current BPM depends on the operating mode:

While using 'Live' mode, the BPM change immediately by turning the knob. You can use this mode if you want to make smooth tempo changes in your performance and are aware, that every turn of the knob changes the BPM.

In the 'Normal' mode, the changed value must be confirmed with a single click of the knob. This mode is perfect if you want to set your tempo once and simply need a stable clock signal. Accidental turning of the knob doesn't affect your BPM.

Notes: This converter has 16 GPI inputs (general purpose interface) arranged on 2 x 9 pin D sockets. It can output MIDI messages as notes, controllers (CCs) or program changes. The references to MIDI note numbers also applies to controller numbers or program numbers if that is the output mode currently in use.

Notes: The LNDX MIDI Line Driver Pro extends MIDI beyond its 15 metre (50 feet) specification using CAT5 cable terminated with etherCON connectors.

Extending MIDI to 500m

LNDX comes as a main and secondary pair that allows MIDI to be sent accurately in both directions at the same time, across distances of over 500 metres (1640 feet) using a standard CAT5e cable terminated by Ethercon connectors.

This is over 33 times the distance achievable using standard MIDI cables.

The LNDX MIDI Line Driver Pro's combination of balanced line drivers and twisted pair cable (CAT5e) gives a high degree of immunity to noise, which results in a very high degree of signal integrity - in plain language, a very reliable MIDI link over much greater distances than can be achieved with ordinary MIDI connections.

CAT5e cable is recommended: CAT5 cable will limit the transmission length to 100m.

The CAT5 cable from an LNDX main unit should only be connected to an LNDX secondary unit, not to another main unit, and NEVER to any other device, even if it has a similar connector. (e.g. Ethernet).

The main unit is mains powered using the included power supply, and the secondary unit is powered by the main unit over the Cat5e cable.

etherCON for rugged, lockable interconnect

etherCON is a ruggedised and lockable RJ45 connector system ideal for professional applications. CAT5e cables are available with etherCON connectors already fitted, and connector shells are also available that can be used to convert existing RJ45 CAT5e cables to etherCON. The etherCON connector on the LNDX MIDI Line Driver Pro is compatible with cables terminated with both etherCON and standard RJ45 connectors.

Notes: The MIDI Solutions F8 8 input MIDI Footswitch Controller provides eight 1/4" phone jack inputs for connection to footswitches or contact closures which can be used to trigger MIDI events. Triggered MIDI events are merged with incoming MIDI messages and sent to the MIDI output of the F8.

MIDI Echo and Footswitch Toggle parameters are selectable on/off.

The Polarity of each footswitch can be determined automatically on power-up, or can be programmed to normally-open or normally-closed. It's also possible for the F8 to send out the state of its footswitches immediately on power-up rather than waiting for each to be depressed.

The F8 is programmed by sending it MIDI System Exclusive messages (see FAQs - Programming). This can be done easily with the Programming Tools software for the F8 and R8. One of our customers has also developed a Programming Tools application for Mac OS X, we do not provide support for this application but it is available here: www.crfmw.be/MS

Once programmed, the F8's settings are retained even after power is removed. The F8 can be reprogrammed with new settings as often as needed.

The F8 is MIDI-powered, and requires no batteries or power supply to operate with most MIDI products (see FAQs - Power and FAQs - LED for more information). A MIDI indicator LED lights up when the product is powered and flashes when MIDI data passes through it.
