Eli Brown & Layton Giordani & Offaiah - "When I Push" (5:28)
Review: Adam Beyer's Drumcode is one of techno's most iconic outlets and it deals only in big room tackle for blowing minds. This sub-series no hits volume seven and welcomes new schoolers Marco Faraone, Eli Brown and Layton Giordani for a pair of punchy new cuts. 'Emergency' is a blast from the off with brain-frying synths and big, boisterous drums. On the flip, 'When I Push' is just as driving and driven, with rising synth tension and rolling snares over the solid kicks. Another winning slab from Drumcode, then.

Matt Guy - "Give Me What I Want" (6:16)
ADHS - "2STEP" (6:22)
Kaiserdisco - "Get On The Dancefloor" (6:51)
Review: The big room techno don that is Adam Beyer is back with more potent techno weaponry on his own Drumcode label, this time with part two of the 12th volume of his A-Sides series. His 'Take Me There' is first up in remix form and Carl Cox flips it into a surging peak time roller. Matt Guy's 'Give Me What I Want' is an emotive banger with big synth energy and reverberating vocals while ADHS's '2STEP' hits hard with its flaming drums and trance-y synths. Kaiserdisco then brings dark, stomping warehouse energy to their raved-ready 'Get On The Dancefloor.'

LAAT - "The Age Of Juno" (6:05)
Review: Mighty European powerhouse Drumcode rolls out more of its techno tsunamis here with part one of the 12th volume of its A Sides collection. The boss himself, Adam Beyer, offers up one of the biggest cuts - 'Heading South' is a surging, straight-up techno weapon rippled with deft synths that ever forever on the move. Danny Avila's 'My Crew' (feat Flowdan) is built on a foundation of earth-shattering kicks and rolling bass with hellish stabs and vocal fragments making for an intense atmosphere, and Simina Grigoriu's 'Flight Tracker' is the sort of quick-moving techno sound to lock you into a trance. Add in LAAT's 'The Age Of Juno' (oi oi!) and you have a very useful and high impact EP of contemporary techno.

Review: Strap in for another rollercoaster ride through the Drumcode tech-scape as we get an authoritative workout from four essential new talents. First up is Mha Iri, whose 'Bel' centres around a catchy vocal hook and darkly seductive synth snarls, before Marco Faraone nods back to some classic Wildchild and locks it to a steely pulse. Balthazar & JackRock offer up something epic on the B-side with the towering electro house synth touches of 'Andromeda', and LO'99 links up with Ray Foxx to round the record out with the playful vocal hiccups and undulating big room groove of 'Skydance'.

Review: Adam Beyer's Drumcode remains out in front of the pack when it comes to big room techno. Whether going to new school artists or old school legends the results are always the same - epic and explosive. This time out we get both on one EP with Teenage Mutants going first with 'Dark Clouds (feat Heerhorst & Peter Pahn). It has synths fired from a hadron collider as they shoot over the face of the acid and bass-laced drums. On the flip side is the mighty Slovakian Umek with 'Footmachine,' a dark and heavy banger with flat-footed drums and all sorts of cosmic synth turbulence. Potent stuff for sure.

Desert Queen
Soulful
Review: Adam Beyer seems to be in a superb run of late and this is his second vinyl outing in as many months. Desert Queen is pure Beyer, and pure Drumocde - drum-led techno for the main room with sweeping synths and grand vocals that are designed to impact crowds of thousands. The A-side actually brings a touch of trance energy and hard techno funk with its slamming, flat-footed drums, coarse synths and brightly lit arrangements. 'Soulful' then flips the script with a more funky groove that rocks back and forth and has funky basslines and a pitched up r&b vocal that works strangely well in the unusual context.

Conjure Floyd
Review: Ever the champion of brains and brawn in equal measure, Maceo Plex makes his debut appearance on Drumcode with this punchy beast of a single. "Conjure Dreams" features plenty of Plex signifiers, from the rounded and rowdy bassline pump to the haunting tone of the synth lines, neatly packaged in a chunky framework of big room drums. "Conjure Floyd" meanwhile burrows into more minimal territory where the tones are amelodic and the percussion takes the lead, calling to mind the restraint and tension of classic M_nus productions where so much could be said with so little.

Review: Up next for Adam Beyer's esteemed Drumcode imprint is Enrico Sangiuliano, a Milan based DJ/producer originally from Reggio Emilia who has been been active on the Italian scene since the early noughties, playing everywhere from clubs to illegal raves. His work of late has been released on sister label Truesoul, Alleanza, Gem Records, Octopus Recordings and Rhythm Converted. On "Moon Rocks", Sangiuliano provides a euphoric, hands in the air anthem with soaring synth leads and seriously humming Reese bassline over a high octane beat. Also on the A side is the mad diva vocal breakdown on "Ghettoblaster" which soon gives way to a dark and tunnelling epic. Finally on the flip, we have two versions of "Dutch Kiss" but for our money it's all about the sombre and emotive IDM vibe of the Inner remix.

Layton Giordani & HI-LO - "Rabbit Hole" (6:39)
Charles D - "Traction" (7:36)
Review: Drumcode and its Swedish founder Adam Beyer have rather become synonymous with big room sounds known as business techno. They don't do anything to shed that tag here with two more epic sounds designed to wash over vast crowds in the world's largest super clubs. Layton Giordani & HI-LO aka Oliver Heldens kick off with 'Rabbit Hole' which is a wall of grainy synth and rolling drums that is simple but effective. Charles D's 'Traction' is another coarsely textured techno roller with splashes of industrial synth and a general sense of subtle elevation.

Driving Into Techno (5:51)
Review: Main room techno doesn't come any more authentic and impactful than when served up by Drumcode, which is a label that has long been dealing in exactly that. For this new dancefloor weapon, label boss Adam Beyer has called upon Oscar L for two of his finest. First up is the fizzing, texturally rich and overwhelming sound of 'Again' which is always on the rise and powered by slamming great big kicks. 'Driving Into Techno' is another purely physical and functional workout with some nice saw tooth synths bringing a little funk.

Review: Gargantuan-room techno trailblazers Drumcode return with 'The A Sides Vol 11 - Pt. 7'. If the title is any indicator enough - and no, it's not irony - this is a stonking closer to a mammoth seven-12" compilation series. The love-em-or-hate-em label always deliver a rave romp for titans, barging past polite types with frick-off bits from A.D.H.S., Julian Jewell, Marco Faraone and Gary Beck. Topping off a project originally conceived in 2012, this is a pulsing sensation suitable for both budding techno enthusiasts and chinstokers willing to let their hair loose for once.

Need It
Review: Drunken Kong is a long-serving techno partnership from Dimpy and Kyoko Singh which first came to light with a series of records from Tronic around 2015. Their sound is reliably taut and big-room minded, making it a perfect fit for Adam Beyer's Drumcode family, and they more than step up to the occasion with this big, bold four-tracker. 'It's Then' is a driving anthem peppered with haunting vocal touches and a slamming rhythm section, while 'I Want To See' keeps up the pressure while letting the build ups take their time for the ultimate tension and release. 'That's It' is a nasty, electro-fied workout and 'Need It' keeps the drama turned up to 11 thanks to another spellbinding voice cutting through the mix.

Piano Power (7:50)
Review: With a career reaching back some 20 years, Bart Skils has remained committed to the art of the techno 12", with not a single album to his name. Instead, his focus has been on a staggering hit list of legendary labels from Pure Plastic to 100% Pure, Break New Soil, and since 2012, primarily Drumcode. As part of Adam Beyer's core contingent he's played a major part in shaping the sound of the label, and so he continues on this exemplary two-tracker. 'Roll The Dice' is a muscular yet lean workout for the bigger kinds of spaces, playing around with some monotonal vocal threads and laying down the b-line throb you expect from a Drumcode A side. The flip offers something a little different as 'Into The Clouds' takes some looped guitar licks as a vessel for transcendence, atop a steady trucking techno undercarriage, of course.

Review: Following a standout contribution to the 'Elevate' compilation, Mha Iri steps up for her Drumcode EP debut. Continuing Scotland's grand techno tradition, the Edinburgh-based DJ/producer is one of 2023 breakout artists; her debut EP on the label is a tantalising prospect, with 'The Unexpected' playing with trademark light-and-dark motifs, mixing up sharp percussive elements with ethereal melodies, before a ripping bass drop takes the energy up a notch. 'Let The Good Times Roll', meanwhile, is a slick accompaniment, as atmospheric techno gets supercharged via a punchy rap vocal and laser-kissed chords.

Review: Adam Beyer's Drumcode label is very nearly at its 300th release, which is a fine achievement by anyone's standards. Here he taps up Veerus for more of the Swedish imprints signature main room techno tackle and he doesn't fall short. 'Cycle' is full of the sort of drama you expect from this label - flat, driving drums, synths fired from a machine gun, strobe lit pads and frazzled textures to make for exciting and impactful experiences. 'It's Funky' on the flip is another big one with thunderous clasp and drums all sweeping dancers off their feet.

Life Moves Fast
Heart Is King
Review: The concept of 'life moving fast' is a sentiment we can all recognise, but fewer yet find the neighbouring sentiment - that you are faster than you think, and you can keep up. You have to find it in your heart, which is why you have to make it to the B-side of Layton Giordani's 'Life Moves Fast', his latest for Drumcode, to know it. Philosophising aside, we are urged to "stop to look around once in a while" on the A-side's shifting, maddening tension-builds. The B restores our humanity and mitigates the sense of urgency with a more meditative mover, which fittingly revels in more post-drop stasis compared to the A (though it's still not without its detuned rave stabs and crazy-driving bass hits).

Review: The always hard-hitting Drumcode kick off a new series here under the name Elevate. It welcomes new school techno tastemakers to serve up their own scintillating main room sounds with Siona label boss and prog house 2.0 figurehead Miss Monique going first. Her serene chords douse you in trance tinged lushness as the deep beats roll on. Chelina Manuhutu's 'Amsterdam Rave' is a more rock solid warehouse roller and Anna Reusch runs with that vibe on her booming, all-consuming techno kicker 'Let Me Take You There'. There is then some flashy acid lines from DJ Dee on her 'Freaking Out'. A fine, all-female fronted EP from Drumcode.

This third part of the A Sides collection brings together a towering selection of names from that scene including Tiger Stripes with the smooth cruise that is 'Altar'. Review: Italian producer Enrico Sangiuliano may have been serving up dark and intoxicating techno twelves for the best part of a decade, but never before has he turned his hand to the full-length format. Biomorph is not just any old debut album, either, but rather a concept album described by Drumcode as "a journey of evolution". In practice, that means an album that ebbs and flows throughout, opening with a dash of spacey ambient, before charging off on a trip marked out by pulsating techno rhythms (crafted from both straight 4/4 beats and breakbeats), spiraling electronic motifs, booming, elongated basslines, experimental electronic interludes and more future big room techno anthems than the contents of Adam Beyer's USB stick. In other words, if you love Drumcode's particular brand of bombastic techno, you'll love Biomorph.

Review: Alan Fitzpatrick returns to Drumcode, marking his first appearance since late 2016 when he remixed Moby's hit "Porcelain".The release opens with "Brian's Proper Dun One", a track which caused a storm on his Twitter profile when he first started playing it last year. Loaded with sharp and pounding drums, this is a no holds barred, certified main room anthem! "Wait A Second" has been getting a lot of play on Drumcode Radio of late. This rave inspired track takes a raw, stripped back approach and delivers a killer blow. Alan sampled the vocals of MC r1bbz from an LTJ Bukem tape pack from the early 90s and the record tips its cap to early jungle raves around the M25. The release closes with "Trance, Init?" a homage to Fitzpatrick's days as a raver before he became a DJ. The breakdown is sure to be a hands in the air moment at festivals all over the globe this summer.

He has been on the scene almost since day one, as has his trusty Drumcode label, and they are both still winning over new generations of fans with their direct to dancefloor style. This latest missive is another monster starting with the hard and heavy drums of 'Robotic Arms' which comes with just enough detail from the sic-fi vocals and synths to get you locked, then the anthemic 'No Hate' is sure to become a big one for Beyer with its rolling drum funk and repeatable vocals. Review: It is a testament to Adam Beyer's enduring love for techno that he continues to serve up choice cuts from his long-running and influential Drumcode label on vinyl. He looks to the talents of Victor Ruiz and Modea for this new two-track 12". Firstly the pair hook up for 'Bloom', a cavernous techno sound that sweeps dancefloors off its feet and floats them amongst subtly uplifting chords while the drums toll on. There are epic melodic overtones to the flip side track 'Contrast,' too. This one will get heads held high, hands in the air and crowds fully taken in with its celebratory atmosphere - until the monstrous drums and acid arrive, that is.

There is no messing about here as the opener will sweep everything in its wake out of the way like a techno tsunami. It has urgent siren sounds and yelping vocals which add to the drama. 'Shake' has more hefty low ends that will rattle both ribs and walls and plenty of FX and percussive iciness adding to the intensity. They take up one side each and first is 'Something More' with its sweeping blasts of white noise, factory floor sound effects and unrelenting drums that will demolish any dancefloor. Review: Pretty much all Drumcode releases are colossal and anthem-like - it's the imprint's niche, after all - but this two-tracker from Stockholm stalwart Tiger Stripes is particularly sizeable. A-side 'Nocturne', for example, is as driving, mind-altering and breathless as they come, with Hardfloor style acid motifs, twinkling piano breakdowns, trancey riffs and enveloping aural textures rising above a blisteringly tough and intense beat. The pulsating tech-trance vibe is further explored on 'Renegade', a track whose elongated, slowly rising breakdown - which comes complete with glassy-eyed vocal samples, does a brilliant job in stirring the senses and raising the pressure out on the dancefloor.

Review: Drumcode don't just do huge-room heaters, you know. 'When The Lights Go Down' is a strong case for the label's darker side, seeing to a generous three-track contribution from Neapolitan producer and DJ Roberto Capuano. The artist eschews an overindulgence in detuned trance saws for reese basses here, preferring to revel in the wealths of space offered by repeated kick drums and large reverberative spaces - as opposed to high-endy, sizzly sounds. The title track is the star, thanks to its riveting vocal line and guard-throwing rhythmic messups, which occur at the same time.

Review: Some serious peak time weapons for the main room on offer here, from the ever reliable Swedish label Drumcode. Usual heroes of the label such as Luigi Madonna, Sam Paganini and Joseph Capriati step aside for some other equally reliable staples. On the A, side label boss Adam Beyer teams up with Enrico Sangiuliano on the evocative and life affirming "Preset Heaven" which takes its cues from early trance with its amazing chord progression. It is something more typical of the label next, on the pummelling warehouse stomp of "Muzik" by Bulgaria's Timmo. On the flip, there's more trance nostalgia on offer again - this time from legends Pig & Dan on the hypnotic/melodic bliss of "La Bruja" which we could imagine melting the minds of festival crowds well into the new year. Finally they save the best for last with French peak time specialist Julian Jeweil, serving up the furious, tunneling and strobe-lit ultraviolence of "Nasa" which will have your adrenaline going from the first beat. His new release is a short, sharp two-tracker which features two very different offerings from this highly decorated new-wave techno titan. 'Phantom' is a massive, grinding beast driven by full-fat synths, dramatic breakdowns and explosive drops - if you appreciate Drumcode, you know what the deal is. It's an intriguing look into the other side of Layton Giordani.

Simulator (dub version) (6:21)
Review: Techno team-ups don't come bigger than this, as Drumcode's overlord of all things mega-tech Adam Beyer links up with Chicago's agent provocateur Green Velvet to give you your next stadium shaking anthem. This isn't the first time Beyer and Velvet have worked together - you could find them on the 2018 track 'Space Date' for one thing - but there's a sense 'Simulator' will become their calling card as a formidable double act. It's simply huge, catchy as hell and full of all the fireworks you could wish for from a super-sized techno workout, all guided by Velvet's unmistakable voice ducking and diving around the expertly engineered mix.

Open Your Mind
Review: HI LO has had some huge collabs with Filth On Acid boss Reinier Zonneveld and now makes a step up to Adam Beyer's mighty Drumcode with more of his maximal techno sounds. 'Crescendo' is a raw slammer with hard edge and raw drums hitting hard beneath incendiary hi-hats and flashes of bright synth and twisted acid. It's a main room weapon of the highest order. 'Open Your Mind' is more ragged and unhinged, it's stark hits and bulky broken techno drums beneath a raucous mix of percussion and saw-tooth synths. No messing with these two.

Elevate Part 3
Cat: DC 2773. Rel: 18 Jul 23
Tini Gessler - "Nothing Expected" (5:38)
Marie Vaunt - "Technology" (6:28)
BEC - "Humanoid" (6:01)
Review: Drumcode's Elevate series hits a third instalment here and this time it is a three tracker with solo cuts from three big names. Tini Gessler kicks off with 'Nothing Expected' which is a teeth-gritting and white knuckle techno roller. Marie Vaunt serves up monstrously large and slamming kicks on 'Technology' and then runs them through with brutal synth lines that spray about with their own dark energy. It's a truly edgy cut before BEC's 'Humanoid' layers up hard tech drums that slam down firmly with a warped lead which leads you late into the night. A trio of high impact weapons, for sure.

Dynamo (6:13)
Strange Dreamz (6:46)
Ataraxia (7:36)
Review: Rodolfo Abrao Wehbba is a leading light of Brazil's techno scene, although he's truly an international concern after more than 15 years in the game. He's put out a lot of music over the years, but more recently he's been aligned with labels like Hotflush and the monolithic Drumcode. It's Adam Beyer's empire he returns to for this, his first EP in three years. The sound on Dynamo is as massive as you would expect, full of that precision engineered arena-filling thump and sky-scraping synth lines, but all shot through with the seductive darkness which makes the Drumcode sound so appealing to such huge crowds of people.

First Time In Space (6:04)
Ultimate Feeling (6:03)
Review: First released digitally last year, Lilly Palmer's Drumcode label debut has finally made it on to vinyl. All three tracks have proved popular with digital DJs, and it's easy to understand why. Title track 'Resonate' is a fiendishly heavy, near brutal techno excursion in which tight, mind-warping acid lines, creepy aural textures and razor-sharp synth sounds leap above a blistering beat and doom-laden bassline. 'First Time in Space', in which she takes to the mic, is a frankly breathless and insatiably intoxicating acid techno stomper of the sort that Drumcode does so well, while 'Ultimate Feeling' pairs the booming, ten-ton beats associated with Belgian producer Amelie Lens with layers of creepy electronics and warped industrial sounds.

Horsepower (5:58)
Sunshine In The Dust (6:23)
Review: The Dutch techno veteran Bart Skils is back with another impressive release on the mighty Drumcode. 'Horsepower' is a relentless peak-time techno track that is sure to captivate dance floors and have the crowd moving with its chugging energy. It builds steadily, leading to an epic breakdown before unleashing the full power of its steely groove, making it perfect for those heads-down moments in the main room. On the B-side, 'Sunshine In The Dust' takes a more straightforward and functional approach with its variety of female vocal parts, catchy bongo drums, and a sexy horn sound. It's a groove-driven track that is both sultry and infectious.

A Sides Vol 11 Pt 2

Veerus - "Lights On Me" (8:03)
Ramiro Lopez - "Yo Mas" (6:37)
Anna Reusch - "Deeper" (7:20)
Review: Drumcode's A Sides series has been a great source of contemporary techno potency and there is no signs of it slowing down yet. This is the second part of the 11th volume and it has three fresh names. Veerus opens up with 'Lights On Me' which is a dark tune with a tense energy and celestial chords keeping you in suspense. Ramiro Lopez then offers the more loopy and hypnotic 'Yo Mas' with its hooky vocals bring an exotic feel. Anna Reusch shuts down with a flat footed stomper that will get your jaws clenched on 'Deeper.'

LAAT - "Call Of The Tribes" (6:14)
Mark Reeve - "Run Back" (Remake) (6:38)
Zimmz - "Qualia" (6:21)
Review: Adam Beyer's esteemed Drumcode resurfaces this week with the next installment in the A Sides series. We're already up to Vol 11's sixth part, and this one seriously means business. Take for instance Hungarian techno hero Jay Lumen's 'Astronaut' featuring the pummelling cyclicality of its muscular bassline that's reinforced by truly visceral kicks. Elsewhere, Dutchman LAAT (Elevate/Tronic) is sure to have you reaching for the lasers on the steely and acid-inflected power on 'Call Of The Tribes' while the enigmatic Zimmz will properly elevate you to maximum euphoria on the trance-influenced energy of 'Qualia'.
