Review: The Tresor crew spent much of the early 1990s creating links between Berlin and Detroit, so it seems fitting that the label's latest release is a double album-length collaboration between local legend Thomas Fehlmann (most famous in recent years for his work with Alex Paterson as the Orb) and Motor City stalwart Terrence Dixon. Utilising what sounds like a range of modular and analogue equipment, the duo rolls through a sextet of cuts that skillfully combine elements of jacking acid, stomping analogue house, twisted techno, Detroit futurism and Conrad Schnitzler style experimentation. It's rather more fun than many may have expected, with Dixon ensuring that the grooves, bleeping melodies and angular electronics come laden with dancefloor funk.

Review: Brazilian producer Fernando Seixlack has previously impressed with a couple of notably punky albums of experimental techno under the Innyster alias. Here he makes his debut for Ron Morelli's esteemed L.I.E.S imprint with a first full-length under his own name. While still as fuzzy, lo-fi and out-there as its predecessors, "Fernando" is a surprisingly melodious and tuneful affair, with Seixlack wrapping glistening - if distorted and pixilated - guitars and trippy synthesizer motifs around bustling machine beats and wayward electronic percussion. At times it touches on electro, at others IDM and more experimental, abstract pursuits; throughout, the album remains both hugely entertaining and pleasingly atmospheric.

Review: There's no shortage of great electro around at the moment, but lest we forget Carl Finlow has been dishing out some of the finest for decades now. In many ways 20/20 Vision is his spiritual home too, so it's great to see him imparting his skills for a fresh long player of razor sharp body poppers loaded with robo-funk. From charging opener "Apparatus" to freaky wriggler "Carbon Deposits", restrained creeper "Components" to punchy melodic workout "Ampere", there's a lot to enjoy and so much musical detail to absorb across this record. As if we'd expect any less from Mr. Finlow.

Review: During the early-to-mid 1990s, Stefan Robbers released some of the most inspired techno to come out of the Netherlands during the period, mostly under the Florence pseudonym on the Eevo Lute Muzique label he co-founded in 1991. This fine triple-vinyl compilation from Delsin tells the tale of both artist and label, drawing together the best of Robbers' work for the label. You'll find extensive liner notes from fine techno scribe Oli Warwick on the accompanying insert, but it's the music - a mixture of sci-fi flavoured club cuts, dreamy and melodious electronica, heady ambient techno, and tactile, loved-up rhythmic soundscapes - that makes "Analogue Expressions" such an essential listen.

Review: Between 2000 and 2002, Roman Flugel's Tracks on Delivery EP series helped usher in a new era of minimal techno - one built on little more than hypnotic drum machine rhythms and druggy electronic noises. This essential triple-album tells the story of the series, offering up remastered versions of all 15 tracks included on the four 12" singles to date. As you'd expect, it's mostly a collection of surging, stripped-back and mind-mangling techno cuts, but there are also some decent deviations into crunchy club electro and fuller-sounding peak-time workouts. This edition also boasts two previously unreleased tracks recorded during the same period: the super-trippy 'Pattern 16' and the Andrew Weatherall/Blood Sugar-influenced 'Pattern 17'.

Review: Dub techno legend Konstantinos Soublis aka Fluxion is back with another album, his first since 2014's Broadwalk Tales on Echocord. Bipolar Defect is presented by Barcelona based label Subwax Bcn and is a further exploration of Soublis' delay drenched, smoked out and chillingly glacial soundscapes that have earned him releases on a who's who of the niche sub genre's finest labels such as the legendary Chain Reaction and his own Vibrant Music imprint. Highlights include the signature sounds of "Multidirectional", "Friction Pulse" and "Stream II" which sound like soundtracks for stoned and spiritual explorations through the Arctic, while there's some immersive and drifting affairs like "Omnibus" and "Aviation" that'll totally drown you in sound. Tip!

Review: The excellent Type Records continue their reissue programme with a much needed re-appraisal of Vibrant Forms, a collection of tracks from Greek producer Konstantinos Soublis, aka Fluxion, originally released back in 1999. Issued by the iconic Chain Reaction on CD, Vibrant Forms collated and expanded on two Fluxion 12"s released on the label and the collection helped to define the late 90s Dub Techno lexicon. Largely unavailable since then, Type have enlisted the supreme talents of award winner Mat Colton of Alchemy to work his re-mastering magic on all eight tracks to make them sound perfect for this double vinyl pressing. Hazy and distant, there was still more than enough dancefloor push Vibrant Forms forward and ensure it's one of the very rare techno albums that works from beginning to end.

This expanded edition features remixes from the album which were released shortly after in the same year, available once again on vinyl. From Joy Orbison's emotive and off-kilter rework of 'Love Cry', there's life affirming vibes abound on Floating Points' perspective of 'Sing' and Jon Hopkins' glassy-eyed and bittersweet rendition of 'Angel Echoes' appears alongside the timeless originals. For example, the dreamy sonic tapestry of 'This Unfolds' as well as 'Plastic People' - the poignant tribute to the legendary London club.

Review: Hospital Productions is a non-stop operation and following this year's long-players from Alessandro Cortini, Ninos Du Brasil and Ron Morelli, Vatican Shadow's latest swoop is this ambient album produced with Function. The seven-track LP was recorded between Berlin and New York, and it's described as best suited for after-hours home listening, but whether you really want to listen to this after a big night is up to you. Indeed "A Year Has Passed" and "A Year Has Gone By" are downbeat and melancholic, whereas other tracks lean more towards industrial ambient, similar to fellow Hospital artist Lussuria's work. "The Nemesis Flower" is a darker highlight while "Red Opium" and "Bejewelled Body" is where the house and techno beats lie.

Review: Minimal Wave sister label Cititrax have been teasing fans with the prospect of a Further Reductions album from Shawn O'Sullivan and Katie Rose and the six tracks on Woodwork more than live up to expectations! Although O'Sullivan will be known to most for his industrial leaning techno productions for labels like Avian, L.I.E.S. and The Corner, the Further Reductions collaboration with Katie Rose dates back as far as 2008, formed to explore a vocal-led, contemporary take on the minimal wave sound. According to Cititrax, Woodwork combines the influences of classic techno and early house to create "super lush and atmospheric tracks that work both on and off the dance floor." There's something XTRMNTR era Primal Scream about "High End Basics" whilst "Void Of Course" sounds like gloopy acid house slowed down to a deathly crawl, the rest you should experience for yourself!

Overflowing with body jerking industrial, raw acid/techno, the album hints of the warehouse sound of the late '90s and the caustic spirit of EBM. From opener "Cru" to "One Terminal", the eight tracks thread together; each starting point completely open, each new step informed by the last, shaped by emotion, inspiration and time.

Review: Crimean label Krym Mryk returns with its sophomore release: a Various Artists collection putting the spotlight on several top musicians from Russia and Ukraine as well as a few newcomers to the scene. Highlights come fast and thick throughout; we're particularly loving the grinding cyclicality of Rim Menko's "Illusion", beatless yet hypnotic arpeggio workouts ("Amb Day Out" and "November Bad") by Pavel Milyakov (Buttechno), man of the hour Stanislav Tolkachev with slow-mo entrancer "While You Are Drawing A Butterfly" and Hoavi's "Aya Horizon", which closes the LP with its sublime ambience.
