Notes: Instrument Interface is a Eurorack pre-amp capable of bringing any type of audio signal to modular levels, thanks to its amplification circuit.

The module can drive regular and condenser microphones (+48V Phantom Powered), as well as Instrument and Line signals with a very low distortion ratio.

Notes: Kickall is a 6HP compact synth voice that features everything needed to make a big fat Kick sound. A stable VCO that tracks V/Oct, a couple of VCAs, envelopes for volume and pitch and an aggressive waveshaper.

The module has been designed with a kick synthesis patch in mind.

The audio path consists of a sinewave oscillator that passes across a Square Waveshaper and two VCA's. The first VCA is for the Volume envelope. The second VCA is dedicated to general volume. Thanks to his CV input, it is possible o apply accents or affects the dynamics of notes. Feeding this input with audio generates a basic AM operation expanding the sonic range of the module.

In the control path, KickAll has two envelope circuits to modulate the first VCA oscillator's pitch. Both envelopes are fired at the same time manually or via dedicated trigger input.

Through its Tune input, KickAll tracks eight octaves with high accuracy. Plug your favourite sequencer or CV source to create patterns out of the kick range, or feed it with an audio signal, for frequency modulation Fx.

Notes: Performance-focussed crossfader module designed to simplify the process of morphing CV and audio signals. Quad channel design with lots of creative potential.

Morphader is a performative tool designed to make multichannel CV/Audio crossfade easy and comfortable. Fading from one quad CV/audio scene to another. The core of the module has four CV controlled crossfaders, each with their individual control and a master fader to control them all. The module mixes the four crossfades at its fourth output, thanks to a clever normalization scheme. Each of them can be easily removed from the mix by plugging a cable at its own output.

Notes: The Sampling Modulator is a multi-function module that lies somewhere between a VCO, a Sample & Hold, and an 8 step trigger sequencer.

Sequencer Clocked Sample & Hold

In this mode it acts like a regular Sample and Hold (S&H) but since it is "sequencer clocked", it is capable of much more interesting patterns than the usual S&H melodies.

The CLOCK input can work in two ways: 1. As a typical clock 2. In "positive going hard sync" mode allowing you to create shuffling and polyrythmic effects.

The HOLD input can be used to keep certain notes playing.

Analog Down-Sampling Effect

In this mode (with the clock running at audio rates) you can go from nasty and harsh sampling rate reduction to an almost clean signal. (The clock run up to 25Khz without external CV and up to 200Khz with CV on the input).

Sampling Modulator/Shaper

Thanks to the V/Oct clock, by feeding a simple waveshape such as a sine wave to IN, and pitch CV to the VCO as well as to the Sampling Modulator CV input, their related frequencies and aliasing caused by the sampling rate reduction are capable of creating clangorous metallic sounds, 8 bit textures and much more.

The game becomes much more interesting when you try to destroy the wave by flipping on and off the switches of the sequencer (which at times can make it sound like three VCOs running in unison).

To understand how the Sampling Modulator works, keep in mind that we are working with a temperature compensated ramp core VCO with more than 4 octaves of tracking. This allows the timbre to stay the same while you move through the scale as the internal and external VCOs are synced in a fashion similar to "frequency related sampling rate modulation"

Unusual V/oct VCO You can use the trigger outputs as a pulse VCO. Flipping the switches on and off the switches can offer a lot of interesting timbral changes.

Notes: STMix is a four-channel stereo mixer in 28hp and 1U format. It can work independently or as an expansion of Befaco's Hexmix module via the six-pin connector located in the back. The module is designed under the Intellijel 1U format.

The CP35 features 4 passive attenuators with linked inputs and 4 separate outputs. Each attenuator knob can be used to adjust the level of the input signal passively from - 8 to unity gain. Connecting a single signal to the first input will allow it to pass to all 4 outputs to have up to 4 variations of a single signal source. Introducing a signal into the subsequent outputs will break the chain from the previous input. For example, if you have a signal in input 2, then this will feed into input 3 and 4 leaving input 1 to feed out of output 1. Having multiple inputs allows you to attenuate 4 separate signals and be more flexible with your tone.

Along with the standard outputs, the CP35 also features 6-volt outputs. These outputs give a reference voltage of -6 Volts out of one pair and +6 Volts out the other. Also included are two banks of 4-point multiple circuits for you to be able to route multiple copies of input signals to other modules. Notes: 221.x2 is a clean and precise utility module that is equally at home mixing Control Voltage as it is audio. At its simplest, it is two independent 2-to-1 mixers that offer per-channel attenuation and inversion, as well as +6dB of gain available at the summed outputs. With a tap of the "All Mix" button, these separate mixes can be combined into a 4-to-1 mix at the "All Mix" output - meanwhile, the first 1+2 mix is still available at its respective summed output. A rear expansion input and output allows for combining multiple modules into larger systems.

In addition, each channel also offers a Direct Output that can be taken pre or post attenuation/inversion.

A 6-volt offset is normalled into the input jacks of channels 2 and 4. This voltage is available at the channel's Direct Output, as well as added to the mixed outputs. Useful as an offset for mixing with another CV signal, or simply as a voltage source.

Each summed output group has two blue LEDs for displaying the shape of the summed CV, and can also serve as signal present indicators for audio. Peak LEDs trigger at ~9.6V, allowing for a bit of headroom before things get out of hand.

Notes: This product is used to produce drum and percussion sounds. You can make 909 type of kick drums- the toggle switch on the left chooses between long and short vca decay. The toggle switch on the left chooses long and short pitch envelope decay. Smack knob control lefts you mix in a noise 'paper' sound for the drum.

You can mix in two trigger sources to create complex percussion patterns. The internal circuit is using logic 'OR' triggering.

This product was refined for optimum sound and response from the controls. Part values were changed from the original 909 design.

-There is onboard distortion to get techno type of kick drums.

-This internal oscillator is triangular core, with internal reset.

-The internal trigger conditioner can take audio rate frequencies.

Notes: This is a complete mini synthesizer that only requires CV and Gate from your midi to CV converter. You can use an AKAI Mini Keyboard or Arturia KeyStep for example. As long as the product has CV and GATE outputs, you can musically control the CSVCO module. This is a great first-time module, or a great percussive voice to add to your electronic singer section.

The CSVCO is similar to the 'toy' algorithm on the mutable braids module, and the weird noise ring (kinda).

-When the Shift Register is put into random mode using the toggle switches you can create the classic arcade noise sound found on the Atari, and defender arcade game.
-The shift register can loop into more musical overtones, using the toggle switches, that also resemble early Atari pulse wave sounds.

These are the only two modules that BLM were able to confirm use the same related approach of using many pulse harmonics to sculpt the sound. There is no firmware, or simulation happening on the CSVCO. The module is an analogue and CMOS logic hybrid module. There are many modular sections involved to make this happen. It would take many modules to attempt to make your own CSVCO patch on your modular.

You would need the following: Triangle VCO, x2 clock generator, Shift Register module, High Pass Filter, VCA, Envelope Generator, Sub Division Pulse Generator Module, Logic xor, Logic AND, Logic Invert modules, and a mixer module. This would easily take up 64-84hp. Such a complicated patch on your system would probably not work as good as the CSVCO.

It can also be used for bright percussive sounds. All of this tracks +5 octaves, musically.

The CSVCO contains so many over tones (mathematically sub divided), that it is indeed producing chords. The EXT trigger input 'rolls the wheel of chance', and changes the overall tone of the shift register.

The CSVCO seems to sound more 'Minor' at times, it gives out a more creepy, spooky set of chords upon changing up the shift register.

All wave forms can be distorted with the Skew knob.

Sync/Reset circuit with high quality JFET chopper on the main timing capacitor. There is a threshold 'SYNC' knob that will manually stop the oscillation passed the 12 o'clock position.

Otherwise, a gate or trigger signal will brute force reset the LFO.

What does this do?

This is an analogue filter that uses two modern equivalent ssm2164 IC's v2164 from cool audio to do it's magic. This particular filter however allows the user to vary the phase of each pole or filter cell. There are four filter cells total. This is similar to the Blue lantern Asteroid Operator Station VCF. The Asteroid Operator Station VCF has 8 Static filter out puts. Those 8 flavors were found by exploring the circuit found on the millipede vcf and internally installing the resistor ratio for that flavor.

On the millipede vcf you are allowed to find more exotic flavors yourself. Operation is easy. You first have all the poles counter clockwise and the three switches set to mute. This will have the filter as a dark Low pass filter. Then you turn on a pole using the switch and turn the know to hear the change. Pole 3 by default is always on, otherwise there would have been no sound if all poles were muted. Having all the poles set clockwise and active easily gets you into brutal sounding tones in a good way.

There is an on board diode limiter circuit to help tame really harsh tones. This is activated by switch.

The audio input has some gain, so you don't always have it fully clockwise. There is also a capacitor selector switch just like my other filters. This modifies the rez peak.

Notes: Endless Processor (Ex)pander Kit opens new possibilities for Endless Processor!

Now, there is pitch control over both channels. You can shift one octave up or shift down to a full sound stop, covering multiple octaves, effectively replicating the variable speed replay effect. This allows for the creation of new textures from existing sounds.

Additionally, with the expansion PCB, the Endless Processor gains an SD card slot that enables you to store up to 5 sound banks. This means everything sustained in both channels can be saved to preserve those happy accidents! However, this is not just a simple save and recall process. It allows more performing possibilities: sustain new sounds, play with them, and then recall the stored ones, all with respect to the fade controls.

And if that's not enough, there's a bonus! With the help of our web tool, you can upload the sound banks saved on the SD card and extract clickless loops of each layer in WAV format. You can then import these loops into your DAW or hardware sampler to build your composition on top of the captured sounds.

Notes: Esquivel is Bocuma's homage to space-age pop. This is a voltage controlled filter in a 14HP Eurorack, around a diode ladder topology. It is capable of switching between the 3 classic states: low-pass (LPF), high-pass (HPF) and band-pass (Band Pass).

Control cut-off, resonance and two inputs for CV. Likewise, a mixer for 3 signals was added at the input, giving it the possibility of mixing 3 different waveforms to obtain more harmonic-enriched signals and to maximize the sonic possibilities of its resonance.

Offering tonnes of opportunity for creating unique instances of controlled randomness, TipTop Audio's Buchla Model 266t Source of Uncertainty is a recreation of the classic random voltage generator and sculpting module. Bringing back a classic set of Buchla's 200-series modules, the 266t recreates six different tools in one classic interface for all of the Eurorack community to bask in. The 266t divides into two sections of generation and modification, featuring two different processors and four generator types with one producing three flavours of analogue noise, labelled flat, -3dB/oct, and +3dB/oct.

The fluctuating random voltages section features two individual smooth voltage generators for adding wiggles and warbles to your modules, each controlled by a rate parameter with CV inputs for modulation. Right below is the quantized random voltage, offering a stepped random output that randomly decides voltage based upon one of two equations corresponding to a value called "n". Depending on the output, you can tune your range to a set amount of possibilities with n+1 output being more localized to the 5V range and the 2^n output having equal opportunity across all 10 volts. The final generator labelled stored random voltage produces two outputs of stepped voltage with an equally distributed random voltage output as well as a selectable bell distribution output that centres its options based on the probability control.

Looking at the processing section, the top-right sample and hold section is actually a track and hold processor, tracking the cv input and changing only at the next high input on the pulse in. The resulting CV output additionally has two alternate outputs that base off alternative pulse counts, and the pulse output alternatives similarly alternate each pulse count. The final section of the 266t lies in the integrator, featuring a simple yet very handy smoothing processor by determining the time it takes to reach from one CV value to the next. With all this versatility to work amongst many modules or even self-patch for related modulation, the Buchla Model 266t Source of Uncertainty will certainly make any modular system lively.

Notes: The CE22 is a professional multi-band enhancer/exciter designed for various applications.

This unit combines 2 processors to align the phase and focus of bass frequencies, improve the response of mid-high frequencies and add harmonic content to any "dull" sounding audio.

The surround processor utilises the phase alignment engine to give a greater perceived width to the stereo field.

Notes: Fully redesigned from the original Cosmix, the Cosmix Pro is an eight-channel mixer intended to work nicely for performance as well as production. Suitable for line-level stereo signals as well as Eurorack levels.

A completely new design, with a lot of attention to sound quality, with a clean, low noise signal path, and lots of headroom.

It features the same amount of channels as the previous Cosmix, 4x mono in, and 2x stereo in.

There's one mono aux bus, and an additional true stereo AUX for all channels, with a dedicated mono and stereo return.

Each channel has a pan pot, a big push button for clickless muting, and a dedicated LED level meter to visualize channel output level.

The mono channels come with a handy low cut switch. (-3dB @80Hz / -6dB @ 45Hz)

Notes: Delta-V is a fully analogue dual-channel function generator, featuring a dedicated VCA and LFO cycle switch for each channel. It packs a great deal of functionality in only 10HP, and will surely find use in almost every patch.

Generate envelopes, slew gates and signals, or run LFOs with precise control over attack and decay times. Using the SHAPE knob, Delta-v can create a wide range of envelopes, from very snappy exponential curves for percussion to logarithmic thumps for bass lines.

If VCA's input is unpatched, the module outputs a regular voltage envelope. When an audio signal is patched into the VCA input, the output signal becomes the audio signal amplified by the envelope.

Sending other envelopes or an LFO to VCA input lets you modulate those modulators, quickly creating complex control voltages that go beyond the usual attack-decay envelope.

Combine this with the SUM output, which sums the two channels, and the attenuverters, which can quickly attenuate or invert the signal, and you have a whole array of signal processing capabilities.

The TRIGGER input fires a Attack-Decay envelope, while the SLEW input will affect the rate of change of the signal.

The trigger for channel 1 and 2 can be linked together, so you can fire two envelopes with one patch cable.

Each channel has an End of Cycle output, (EOC) this outputs a short trigger at the end of each envelope cycle.

The output voltage ranges from -10 to +10 volts, set with handy output attenuverters.

The CYCLE switch starts looping the envelope, creating LFO's that go up to audio rate, and that can also be used as an interesting sound source.

There are many ways to utilise Delta-V.

Notes: Messor is a stereo compressor with lots of tricks up its sleeves. From gluing a mix together to squashing drums, sidechaining kicks and sculpting transients.

It's a VCA based feed-forward compressor with a high quality low noise signal path. The magic happens in the internal sidechain that shapes the gain reduction envelope.

There are the familiar controls of a compressor, attack, release, threshold, ratio and makeup gain, as well as a switchable high-pass / low-pass sidechain filter.

The ratio can go past limiting and into over-compression, which can completely reshape transients, a great tool for sound design.

Being modular, of course there are CV inputs for Attack, Release and the Filter cutoff.

The Gain CV controls the makeup gain, but also doubles as a Stereo VCA with the Gain knob off.

The gain reduction envelope is also available, for turning filters or other VCA's into compressors for example.

There's a bypass switch, and another Warm/Pure switch, that can bring in a bit of additional saturation and compression in the form of analog tube simulation circuitry.

Lastly there's the possibility to insert an external sidechain, for that classic kick sidechain compression.

Thru Zero Complex Oscillator

A new complex oscillator, featuring two independent VCO's. Both voices have a unique signal path and flavour. Complex cross modulations entangle them together, opening up completely new timbral territories.

Features include the Thru Zero trinity; Frequency, Phase and Amplitude modulation.

Each oscillator also has its own Low Pass Filter, which works great to mellow the harsher tones from complex intermodulations.

Each VCO has great tracking and temperature stability, there is no distinction between a carrier and modulator.

The FM bus lets you modulate the index of each individual voice, with linear and exponential inputs for external sources. There are also inputs for Sync in, with both soft and hard sync.

VCO 1

The left VCO signal chain starts with a shape function, that let's you morph between triangle and saw. This waveform is also available as a separate output.

Next is a sinusoidal wavefolder, which changes its response dramaticaly based on shape of the waveform. The circuit is based on a modified version of a design by Barrie Gilbert from 1977, popularized by Open-Music-Labs (used with permission).

This circuit also creates the possibility of Thru Zero Phase Modulation, here the depth is controlled with the third slider. The source is normaled to VCO 2, but external modulation sources can be patched in, and the depth can also be modulated with CV.

Lastly there's a 2-pole Low Pass Filter, before going out the MAIN output. All parameters can be CV controlled, and feature handy attenuators at the inputs.

VCO 2

The first slider is a continuous waveform shaper, that morphs from sine to tri to saw.

This waveform then enters the Thru Zero Amplitude Modulation (Ringmod) section. The slider sets the depth of modulation, with the source normalized to VCO 1. The depth can be CV controlled, and an external source can be patched as well. The result is also available on a separate output, pre wavefolder/filter (VCO 2 sine).

The third slider is a wavefolder, it's based around a novel wavefolding topology, with a unique and more aggressive sound compared to the sinusoidal folder of VCO 1.

The wavefolded signal goes into a 2 pole Low Pass Filter, and out of the MAIN output.

Although a sum of its parts is one of its best features!"- but Function Junction can do more than a ton of things. In fact, it's downright impressive what's possible with this lovely module.

Function Junction combines three classic analogue modulation sources, ADSR envelope, function generator, and LFO. All are fed into an attenuverting mixer to create a complex modulation junction that can be used as 4 independent sections or in conjunction with each other.
The magic of the module is the ease you can flow from using its functions for basic everyday tasks to creating hyper-complex modulation. The sheer breadth of what you can do and the ease of doing it are simply amazing. Cre8audio highly recommending reading the manual to get a feel for the possibilities.

Notes: The Cali oscillator is a new and improved version of the classic Buchla 258 wave shaping oscillator with an additional pulse width modulated output. The oscillator features the classic Sine to Square and Sine to Saw wave shaping with dedicated CV control. The Cali Oscillator differs from previous versions of the 258 in that it has a 3-way position switch rather than 2-way. This new middle position features a bonus waveform that will shape from a pulse into a kind of triangular trapezoid shape. The shaping control is more unpredictable in this middle position and the switch reacts to body contact when the wave shape is set low - it can be thought of as an extra bonus waveform, great for producing glitchy sounds! There are dedicated inputs for linear and exponential FM and the Cali also adds a Pulse output with it's own width control and PWM CV input. The behaviour of the pulse output can be affected by the position of the waveform switch and wave shape control. The module features Coarse and Fine frequency controls and an LFO mode, LFO range is accessed via an LED pushbutton that also acts as the LFO speed indicator - the button will light up when the waveform moves through its positive cycle. Because the wave shape modulation is independent of pitch this oscillator is very useful for creating complex timbres whilst retaining musical pitch.

Notes: The Dannysound Dynamics is a compressor / expander originally designed to process drums but, like most processing devices, it can be used for a wide variety of applications.

The module comprises of:

The compressor / expander section uses a discrete transistor-based circuit that allows for soft clipping when overdriven.

The envelope detector is known as a feedforward type of circuit; taking its input from the signal before it goes to the compressor rather than after. This type of circuit is known for having fast attack times.

The Sub Bass enhancer has its own compression circuit that "ducks" the initial transient. This allows the sub bass to be increased without distortion on the transient peaks, increasing the overall level.

There is a MIX control to allow the unprocessed signal to be mixed back in with the processed signal.

The 3 band EQ is an inductor based LCR design. After Dannysound tryed out various EQ topologies, this was the design that sounded the nicest. When overdriven it gives a nice "bite" to the sound, and it has a certain characterful charm that's hard to put into words. The controls have a response that are subtle to begin with and get more pronounced as the controls are increased.

The Harmonic Exciter adds a little distortion to the high frequencies, which bring out the sparkle of cymbals or the snap snare drums. The operating bandwidth can be switched between Low (snare drum snap) or High (Cymbals sparkle).

There are inputs for side chaining and control with an external envelope as well as an envelope out to make the envelope detector output available to drive other modules.

It also features separate inputs and outputs for the Compressor / Expander and EQ sections, so they could be used as 2 separate modules.

The EN129 Thru Zero Oscillator is an all analogue triangle-core VCO specialising in frequency modulation. Analogue through-zero FM modulation produces a wide array of timbres particularly useful for bell like or percussive sounds. Through zero linear frequency modulation can be precisely dialled in thanks to a dedicated CV input attenuator and through zero offset control. Logarithmic FM is also available via it's own dedicated input with attenuator and both FM inputs have an LED to indicate incoming voltages. Simultaneous analogue wave outputs include: Sine, Triangle, Sawtooth, Square and Pulse wave with Pulse Width Modulation. The PWM control goes to zero at either end of it's range, which is very useful for creating rhythmic sounds with voltage control. Furthermore the PWM control doubles up as wave shape modulation for the Sawtooth wave - gradually altering the waveform until it shifts half a cycle. The EN129 features Coarse and Fine frequency controls as well as an LFO mode. Notes: The Looping VC-ADSR is a 4-stage, loop-able, envelope generator based on the ENVGEN 8C IC from Electric Druid. The individual sections of the Envelope (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release, Level and Time) can all be individually controlled via CV.

The module has 5 MODES of operation that can be selected via the pushbutton LED switch with the status indicated by the five LEDs above:

Normal Envelope - Gate signal at the GATE/TRIG input, fires the ADSR.
Trigger Mode - Trigger signal at the GATE/TRIG input fires the AD portion of the envelope. The sustain control determines the final value the envelope rests at after the decay portion has ended.
Gated Looping Envelope - ADSR loops whilst gate signal is high.
Looping Envelope - ADSR loops regardless of gate signal.
LIN response (Hold switch to select between LIN/EXP Mode) - Sets the envelope response to be Linear. The response is Exponential when the status LED is off.
When the envelope is looping, all 5 controls affect the output. Attack and Decay operate, as one would expect. The Sustain control sets the minimum voltage the decay part of the envelope will decay to. The Release sets a release time from the end of the Sustain period to the beginning of the next cycle. When the Sustain is set to 0 you can use the Release control to add a delay between the Attack and Decay cycles.

In Normal Envelope mode the Sustain CV input can be used with an LFO source to add amplitude modulation that gradually increases as the Envelope transitions from the Attack/Decay part of the envelope into the Sustain part. The Level CV is also a useful point for amplitude modulation or can be used for Velocity Sensitivity via CV.

The Time CV is set so that increasing voltage shortens the overall envelope time to better mimic the sounds of percussive instruments.

Notes: The updated "Skiff friendly" design of the mml filter now features bipolar "Attenu-verters" for the cv controls as well as an all new red mode!

This new mode activates a feedback distortion circuit capable of actually changing the pitch of the notes coming in to the filter in a musical way that adds instant variety to acid basslines, creates weird and strange alterations to drones or adds some nice overdriven distortion to whatever goes into it!

The multi-mode ladder (mml) filter is based on the classic transistor ladder low pass filter by dr. Robert a. Moog. This filter updates the classic 4-pole ladder design to provide band pass and high pass filter responses as well as the traditional low pass filter. There are 2 bipolar controls with attenu-verters for the cut-off frequency plus a cv input for the resonance.

The core of the circuit features a fully discrete transistor design with an op-amp buffered output, this allows soft saturation of the input signal to get the classic overdriven tones of the ladder filter. A bass compensation circuit has been included to retain the bass response in low pass mode when the resonance is increased. The bass compensation also helps to improve the response of the high pass filter.

The red mode is activated/de-activated by holding the mode button for 0.3s. In this mode the filter cut-off, input volume and resonance all interact and the effect is to produce alterations to the incoming frequencies. The pitches of the audio coming into the filter also affect the alterations as well selecting between low pass, band pass and high pass filter modes whilst in red mode.

Notes: The Timbre is a 6HP Eurorack module based on the wave folder section of the Buchla 259 oscillator as implemented in the Music Easel.

The wave folder adds extra harmonics to input signals that have low harmonic content to create rich and interesting timbres. Typical input sources to use would be Sine and Triangle waves but you are welcome to try other sources as well! The Dannysound Timbre adds an extra input to the Buchla design to allow 2 oscillators to drive the wave-folder simultaneously - this dramatically increases the range of possible tones that can be generated and allows the folder to go wild!

Notes: This module provides you with four motorised faders (aka flying faders) to be attached to your DROID master. You can attach up to 16 of these units (or any other DROID controllers) to one master, so the maximum number of faders on a DROID is 64. Below each fader is a touch button and an LED.

You can use the faders, the buttons and the LEDs in very flexible ways to control all parameters in your DROID patches, like steps of a sequence, volumes of channels of a digital mixer (controlled via MIDI with the X7), parameters of a large bank of envelopes, CV values that are organized in presets and much more.

The special thing about the motorized faders is that each fader can be assigned several functions or presets. When you switch the function, the fader moves to the exact position that corresponds to the current value. The usual Eurorack "picking up" of potentiometers or faders, where you never know exactly which value is currently set, is now a thing of the past.

Another unique feature is the "haptic feedback". If a fader is used, for example, in a sequencer to select a note from a scale, you can feel each individual note like an artificial notch. The fader intelligently creates these virtual grooves with its motor. This is very useful and very intuitive whenever you use the fader to select one out of several discrete values. Other examples are clock divider settings, the number of a preset, a waveform, a clock offset and much more. Due to the haptic feedback you don't need any display for seeing what you are doing. You can concentrate on making music and play very intuitively.

Another kind of haptic feedback is a kind of "pitch bend wheel", where the fader always pushes back to the center position by itself. Here the motor creates an artifcial spring. When setting analog values such as a volume or a filter cutoff, the fader then runs freely, of course.

Applications

The DROID plus the faders can be used for various applications - and due to the possibility of switching even at the same time! Here are some example:

Power
Motor faders need much energy. Theoretically one single fader can draw up to 800 mA when at full power. That seems to be the main reason why nobody dared in bringing motorised faders into Eurorack so far.

Der Mann Mit Der Maschine have solved that challenge by making use of the fact that the fader need their power always just for a very short time. The M4 unit comes with four big power tanks (called super caps) that are loaded with a low current but provide the full power when the faders need them. That way the maximum current of one M4 unit is limited. With jumpers on the back you can choose between a peak current of 350, 450, 500 or 600 mA.

R2C is module 2 of a pair of two 2 HP modules that allow you to connect a chain of controllers to your DROID master through a standard 3.5 mm stereo cable (sometimes also called aux-cable).

The usual idea is that you put all your DROID controllers into a skiff case and mount your DROID master, X7 and G8 into another case, together with all your fancy Eurorack sound modules.

While you could do this with the typical 6-pin ribbon connector (e.g. the 80 cm version that we offer), using the R2M/R2C combination has some serious advantages:

The connection cable can be almost arbitrary long (20 m have been tested and works perfectly).

Since the connection is done on the front of the modules, you can quickly disconnect your skiff for the purpose of travelling to a gig.

You can use a standard 3.5 mm stereo TRS cable for the connection.

These modules are not just passive connectors but contain special driver ICs that transform the electronic voltage levels, which run in the 6-pin ribbon, to something more stable and reliable that is fit for longer distances in a more hostile environment.

The controllers do not receive their power from the master but from the R2C module, which has a power connector and a voltage regulator for that purpose. Each chain of the R2C module provides the same power to its controller chain as the master does (it contains the identical voltage regulator). That means that you can connect up to 32 controllers (!) to one R2C.

Another nice thing: The R2M/R2C combination allows for two of these master / controller connections in parallel. That means that you can have two masters being attached to their individual controller chains. That does not mean, that each of the masters can access each of the controllers at the same time, however. Both master / controller connections work completely separately.
