Switchable 6dB and 12dB slope high pass voltage controlled filter module - 2HP.
Notes: The Low Fat is a new 2hp Eurorack module by AJH Synth, it's a High Pass filter, with frequency control by either manual pot, and/or external CV with attenuator. It's intended to compliment other filters, particularly low pass VCF modules, in practical tasks such as removing excessive low frequencies, for example when the bass is swamping a mix. It can be switched between 6dB (1 pole) response and 12dB (2 pole) response.

By patching a CV signal to the FCV input it can be voltage-controlled and used musically as with any other VCF. When used in conjunction with a LP filter it forms a fully customisable band pass filter, allowing the range of passbands to be cherry-picked. Feeding in a 1V/Oct pitch CV and setting the FCV pot to a suitable level allows it to track an incoming pitch CV, so the amount of High Pass filtering remains constant as the pitch of the incoming VCOs traverse up and down the frequency range. This can be particularly useful in creating percussive sounds, such as snares and hats, but also on sequenced bass lines. Since it is only 2HP it's a great way to occupy one of those frustrating gaps in your eurorack modular case with something that is deceptively useful, and adds another dimension to the classic bass monster that is the Transistor Ladder Filter.

CMOS shift register VCO module in 8HP.
Notes: This is a complete mini synthesizer that only requires CV and Gate from your midi to CV converter. You can use an AKAI Mini Keyboard or Arturia KeyStep for example. As long as the product has CV and GATE outputs, you can musically control the CSVCO module. This is a great first-time module, or a great percussive voice to add to your electronic singer section.

The CSVCO is similar to the 'toy' algorithm on the mutable braids module, and the weird noise ring (kinda).

-When the Shift Register is put into random mode using the toggle switches you can create the classic arcade noise sound found on the Atari, and defender arcade game.
-The shift register can loop into more musical overtones, using the toggle switches, that also resemble early Atari pulse wave sounds.

These are the only two modules that BLM were able to confirm use the same related approach of using many pulse harmonics to sculpt the sound. There is no firmware, or simulation happening on the CSVCO. The module is an analogue and CMOS logic hybrid module. There are many modular sections involved to make this happen. It would take many modules to attempt to make your own CSVCO patch on your modular.

You would need the following: Triangle VCO, x2 clock generator, Shift Register module, High Pass Filter, VCA, Envelope Generator, Sub Division Pulse Generator Module, Logic xor, Logic AND, Logic Invert modules, and a mixer module. This would easily take up 64-84hp. Such a complicated patch on your system would probably not work as good as the CSVCO.

It can also be used for bright percussive sounds. All of this tracks +5 octaves, musically.

The CSVCO contains so many over tones (mathematically sub divided), that it is indeed producing chords. The EXT trigger input 'rolls the wheel of chance', and changes the overall tone of the shift register.

The CSVCO seems to sound more 'Minor' at times, it gives out a more creepy, spooky set of chords upon changing up the shift register.

Linear feedback shift register module - 6HP
Notes: Amnis is a shift register with a few tricks up its sleeves. It can be used as a generative sequencer for gates and CV, as a tunable digital noise source, as a random gate and CV generator, as the center of a chaotic system and more.

It needs two input signals to start doing its thing. A Clock and some Data. Data can be pretty much any signals. From these two signals Amnis will generate 8 gate outputs, always on the clock. From these gate outputs, it will generate 3 staircase CVs and a slewed CV. With 8 gates and 4 CV outputs it can be the heart of any patch.

Amnis has an XOR input for linear feedback. A shift register with linear feedback is the core of the Rungler, the chaotic core in Rob Hordijk's Benjolin and Blippoo Box. With Amnis you can recreate these type of behaviors with any oscillators you have on hands.

Amnis is compatible with the Turing Machine expanders thanks to its expansion port at the back.

Due to popular demand for a 3U shift register, Amnis replaces (and expands on) Ruissellement, which was the 1U version of this module.

Notes: The Z2040 is TipTop Audio's redesign of the most famous analogue filter from the polysynths of the 80's and features Tiptop Audio's signature lush, big, and creamy sound. Its frequency sweeps make thick bass lines and leads with great dynamics. When modulated with audio frequencies through its various inputs, the Z2040 gets quite colourful and is capable of creating many new sounds and textures as the forces of the incoming waves and their harmonics blend through the filter's non-linear circuit. When set with Resonance feedback fully up, the Z2040 transforms into a pure sine-core VC-Oscillator, great for making snappy percussive elements and whistling sounds.

A look under the hood will find that the heart of the Z2040 is a discrete design 4-pole low pass filter with a core similar to that of the SSM2040 filter chip, used in the 80's Prophet 5 Rev 2 synthesizer, and its brother the SSM2044, used in the famous early EMU samplers and PPG synthesizers of the 80's. Both filters are considered by many to be, "the best sounding filter ever".

The Z2040's four modulation inputs are built to handle CV and audio signals, enabling deep modulation of the filter core and passing signals. A VC resonance input is provided to modulate and even clip the sine wave produced by the filter feedback loop. A Frequency Modulation input (FM) provides dynamic filter sweeps and the unique VC-FM index allows modulation of the incoming FM signals. On top of that, the Z2040 comes with an audio VCA that can be configured to act upon the input or the output of the filter.

Notes: Lipsk facilitates the inversion of the individual bits produced by Drezno (or any other module connected to its input header at the back), and delivers the resulting code to its output header. Bit inversion can be manually controlled by pressing any of combination of its eight illuminated buttons, or it can be automated by patching gate signals into its gate input sockets. An active (5V) gate flips the state of the respective bit. If the button is active (bit already flipped), then the gate flips the bit again yielding double inversion (no inversion). The corresponding LEDs show the combined effect of both manual and gate actions. The bit processing logic is hardware-based, so there is virtually no latency, allowing the binary signals to be manipulated at extreme rates.

Notes: MISO is a multipurpose utility module, a laboratory for synthesizing control voltage signals and audio. MISO combines multiple CV tools into one module for making complex CV shapes at the output stage. The name comes from the four main functions available: Mix, Invert, Scale, and Offset.

MISO's 2 sections (1/2 IN and A/B IN) are identical. Each section has two inputs that can be used to Mix signals, Invert polarity/shape, Scale magnitude and Offset voltage. Each function can be used independently or simultaneously with the total shape summed to the mix output.

At the centre of the module is another processor, an accurate smooth linear voltage-controlled crossfader that mixes equally between the outputs of the top and the bottom MISO sections. Feed the MISOs with envelopes, LFOs, Sequences to create new shapes and then crossfade them manually or with CV using the centre section for even further complexity of shapes and animation of control signals. Crossfade between the waveforms of a VCO or audio samples with CV for more motion.

There are an endless number of ways to patch MISO with unexpected and inspiring results. MISO is the kind of module that gives modular synthesizers its incredible replay value, rewarding hours of creative explorations and its experimental and non-traditional mixing.

Analog Down-Sampling Effect

In this mode (with the clock running at audio rates) you can go from nasty and harsh sampling rate reduction to an almost clean signal. (The clock run up to 25Khz without external CV and up to 200Khz with CV on the input).

Sampling Modulator/Shaper

Thanks to the V/Oct clock, by feeding a simple waveshape such as a sine wave to IN, and pitch CV to the VCO as well as to the Sampling Modulator CV input, their related frequencies and aliasing caused by the sampling rate reduction are capable of creating clangorous metallic sounds, 8 bit textures and much more.

The game becomes much more interesting when you try to destroy the wave by flipping on and off the switches of the sequencer (which at times can make it sound like three VCOs running in unison).

To understand how the Sampling Modulator works, keep in mind that we are working with a temperature compensated ramp core VCO with more than 4 octaves of tracking. This allows the timbre to stay the same while you move through the scale as the internal and external VCOs are synced in a fashion similar to "frequency related sampling rate modulation"

Unusual V/oct VCO You can use the trigger outputs as a pulse VCO. Flipping the switches on and off the switches can offer a lot of interesting timbral changes.

The Serge Variable Bandwidth Filter (VCF2) is probably the rarest classic filter in the Serge system, offering a unique combination of 2 filters. According to the 1983 Serge catalogue, the Variable Bandwidth VCF (VCF2) "has a band-pass output which can be varied manually or with voltage control. This is a standard response synthesizer VCF, typical to filters used in many studio systems. In the VCF2, two state-variable VCF's are connected in series to produce a total of five outputs. High pass, low pass, two fixed bandwidth outputs, and one variable bandwidth output are available. The outputs are all flat-response (no resonance) so the VCF2 is suitable for processing concrete sounds without introducing resonant coloration to the timbres. Under voltage or manual control, cut-off frequency of the high and low-pass outputs are affected, as well as the center frequency of the two band-pass outputs. Orobas is a dual tube amplifier that is composed of two identical units.

Each channel has two audio inputs with dedicated gain controls and one output volume control.
Thanks to clever routing, a wide variety of sounds can be created. The two channels can be connected in parallel or in series (Parallel / Series). In series connection, the output of channel 1 is still active, good for parallel signals (note: each channel output is phase-inverted in relation to the opposite input). This way, feedback can be generated by feeding back the signal from output 1 to e.g. a control voltage input.

The screen control voltage input determines the gain and the sound characteristics. Additionally, the input is normalized to INPUT 1 of the respective channel.

The Suppress control voltage input is normalized to the input signal if nothing is connected. The purpose of this input is to direct electrons reflected from the anode back to the anode. Turning the knob to the positive does not change as much, turning it to the negative slightly attenuates overtones. With a positive control voltage the change is minimal, but with a negative control voltage you can realize e.g. ducking effects and effectively switch off the tube. Audio Rate Modulation is also possible here and a bit milder than with the Screen CV, but still effective.

The evocation potentiometer controls the feedback of the second output into the first channel. The sonic performance is very much dependent on the Plate Bias switch. The Plate Bias switch effectively controls the headroom. This allows you to use the tubes in three different settings, from fuzz sound to full distortion.

Notes: Module A-130-8 contains eight linear voltage controlled amplifiers (VCAs). Each VCA features a control voltage input (CV), a signal input (In) and a signal output (Out). The signal inputs are able to process levels up to 10Vpp without clipping. Each CV input is equipped with a trimming potentiometer that is used to adjust the sensitivity of the CV input in question. In the factory the module is adjusted for the CV range 1...+5V but can be re-adjusted by the user for other control voltage ranges (e.g. 0...+10V).

The amplification range for each single VCA is 0...1. The signals of the sum outputs have a lower amplification to avoid distortion.

The VCAs and mixers are fully DC coupled, i.e. the module can be used for the processing of both audio and control voltage signals. The control voltage and signal inputs can be normalled by means of small solder pads (e.g. 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 and so on, or 1 > 5, 2 > 6, 3 > 7, 4 > 8 for the stereo application mentioned below).

The Masterone is the first Frap Tools module designed to be connected exclusively with non-Eurorack equipment.

XLR Balanced Stereo Outputs

Two XLR connectors (left and right) provide a balanced output with the expected 6 dB extra gain. In many cases, they can allow bypassing a DI box.

TRS Pseudo-Balanced Stereo Outputs

These outputs are very similar in concepts to the ones on the M module, but with large 1/4" jack connectors. It is possible to patch standard TS cables and use them as unbalanced outputs, or use TRS cables to interface them with balanced equipment (the ground is routed to both the ring and the sleeve, for a better performance than regular unbalanced outputs).

Attenuation Switches for Flexible Connectivity

If the two stereo outputs are too hot, a set of switches can attenuate them. The Line/Mic switch on the XLR outputs attenuates them by ~30 dB, while the Line/Inst switch on the TRS outputs attenuates them by ~15 dB.

Stereo Headphones Output with Pre-Fader Listening

The Headphones section allows you to monitor the Master output with an independent volume knob and, at the same time, take advantage of the PFL function on the Channels and the Groups. Rotate the PFL crossfader towards the blue section to blend the PFL modules with the Master sum and check if everything is okay before launching the next scene.

Mono Output with Dedicated Fader

Should you need an extra monitor on stage, or run the whole system through a vintage amp in the studio for parallel processing, the auxiliary monophonic outputs is the answer. It provides the sum of both channels in a handy, pseudo-balanced output with a dedicated fader: attenuate the line level by 15 dB, or amplify it by 6 dB.

12-LED VU Meter with Memory

A detailed VU Meter monitors the signal amplitude from -40 to +15 dB with peak memory on the upper LEDs.

Two independent 3-input vacuum tube mixers module - 14HP
Notes: Erica Synths Fusion Dual Mixer is designed to mix and overdrive audio signals on the vacuum tube.

Use the Fusion Mixer as two independent 3-input mixers (also for stereo signal mixing) or a 6-input mixer. Special feature of the Fusion Mixer - great tube overdrive effects when level knobs are set to 3 o'clock or above. When used with drum machines, it even emulates sidechain compressors. When used to mix signals from VCOs Fusion Mixer it works as waveshaper, especially, if pulse width modulated pulse signals is used in one of inputs.

All Fusion modules by default are configured to work with regular eurorack PSU.

Due to the fact that cold tube heaters have lower resistance, Fusion modules have significant power consumption peak at startup, when power consumption almost doubles for 1-2 seconds. This is not a problem with linear PSUs that have power inertia, but may cause switching PSU internal protection to turn off power supply. Please make sure your PSU has some headroom before installing multiple Fusion modules.

Fourfold frequency divider for creating up to four sub-octaves - 8HP
Notes: Module A-115 is a four-way frequency divider. The frequency of a signal at the input is halved (half frequency = first sub-octave), quartered (1/4 frequency = second sub-octave), and so on. In this way, the DIVIDER produces four sub-octaves (F/2 down to F/16).

At the output, the A-115 produces a summed mix of the original and the four sub-octaves. There are attenuators to control the amount (i.e. Amplitude) of the original signal and each of the sub-octaves.

Bear in mind that the sub-octaves output by the A-115 are all true square waves. At the output there are always four square waves and the original signal available.

BIONIC LESTER MARK III is a 2-channel 2-pole state-variable digital filter with an unusual amount of good sonic character. The filter mode is continuously variable under manual or CV control, smoothly fading from lowpass to bandpass to highpass to notch to allpass with a single motion. The resonance stops just short of self-oscillation. A digital VCA controls the amplitude and the distortion of the input signal pre-filter. The filters have independent inputs and outputs, and an additional Mix output with balance control. The filter design was initially inspired by the best of late-1990s "virtual analog" filters and has gone far beyond.

The audio input controls have dual behavior. When the control (or CV input) is turned from zero position to the center, it operates as a simple gain control for that input. When turned past the center position towards the maximum, the signal will begin to soft-clip, adding hard clipping as the maximum is approached. This smooth and subtle distortion adds violence to otherwise unremarkable input material, generating additional harmonic content for the filter to process. The digital VCA that controls the gain and distortion functions is aware of the input signal's zero crossing, eliminating "clicking" noises when the gain is modulated.

Each filter section has three CV inputs. The first is a high-speed input hardwired to the filter's cutoff frequency, appropriate for snappy envelopes and slow moving voltages alike. The other two inputs (one with attenuverter control) are freely assignable to any of the filter parameters (cutoff, resonance, mode, gain), storable in a preset. The Mark III preset system stores eight fully programmed panel setups, instantly recalling everything under the harshest demands of performance. The Morph mode allows smooth fading between all of these presets.

Activate Filter B's LINK control for patch-free routing of the filter's control or audio signal. You can achieve dual-peak resonance, cable-free series routing, cascaded 4-pole filtering (with two stages of distortion), and full stereo using only one set of filter controls. The input normalization, LINK settings, and parallel mix output further reduce cable clutter while rapidly patching an elaborate signal flow.

The controls are arranged for maximum tweakability and minimum cable interference, with metal-shaft potentiometers attached to the panel on the large knobs. The Mark III OLED display displays the cutoff frequency in Hertz, resonance amount, and filter type morph. The CV inputs process all input voltages between -10 to +10 volts. Panel size is 15HP.

Multi-mode divider
Notes: A multi-mode divider for clock and audio signals.

It can be used either for dividing clock signals (e.g. from an LFO, BEATDIVIDER) for rhythmical purposes but also for audio signals - in this case you get subharmonics / lower octaves squarewaves at the outputs, which can be mixed or used separately.

The module has eight outputs which - depending on the selected division mode - provide different division factors of the input signal:

Beat: musical/rhythmical clocks are generated as 1/1, 1/2, 1/4... 1/16 and triplets
Binary: the outputs work as binary counter (same as the predecessor module DIVIDER)
Decimal: The outputs have decimal divisions of the input, meaning half, third, quarter, fifth... of the input clock
Prime: The outputs use the prime numbers as division factors
Fibonacci: The outputs use the numbers of the fibonacci row as division factors

The reset input resets all output signals; in case of audio signals this can get quite unique, ringmodulator-like sounds.

The Shift knob shifts/rotates the outputs; usually, the fastest output is on output 1, but with shift the entire output pattern is shifted so the fastest output can be set to any position 1...8.
