The Real World Interface is a 3-channel external processing module intended for connecting with sound sources outside the system. The channels are oriented as vertical channel strips. The left and right channels have a built-in condenser microphone, preamp, envelope follower with variable decay and gate extractor. In addition to a preamp, envelope follower and gate extractor, the centre channel also has an Automatic Gain Control (fixed high ratio compressor), fundamental extractor (tracking lowpass filter), frequency detector and locked oscillator. Internal microphones are useful for introducing electro acoustic room sounds into the modular. Envelope followers can be used to have external signal levels effect parameters such as filter cutoff or level for building dynamics processors. CUNSA is a quadruple analog pingable multimode resonant filter, saturator, mixer, and oscillator.

It is Frap Tools' sound seasoning tool: it can gently even a patch, applying a final touch, or it can set it on fire with a ridiculous amount of spice. It's up to you and your cooking style!

It consists of four multimode resonant filters with a custom saturation and feedback control that you can use independently or in various combinations and roles thanks to a series of seminormalizations.

Four Analogue Resonant Multimode Filters

CUNSA features four state-variable filters that can be used independently or linked and mixed. Each filter provides three behaviors simultaneously: lowpass, bandpass, and highpass. Each behavior has a 12 dB/oct slope, except for the lowpass, which can be either 12 or 24 dB/oct.

Unique 'Character' Circuit for Feedback and Distortion

CUNSA handles feedback and gain staging with extreme control and versatility. Besides the usual Q control that emphasizes the cutoff frequency, the Character circuit defines the amount of soft clipping when the filter overloads. High clipping guarantees a controlled behavior with fat tone and pure resonance, while low or no clipping lets the signal saturate the filter stages and make it scream.

V/oct Tracking and Quadruple Oscillator

Each filter responds to the V/oct signal with excellent tracking. It is thus possible to move the cutoff frequency along with the main melody or make CUNSA resonate with no input and transform it into a multiple oscillator. The V/oct inputs are seminormalled so you can control more filters with the same CV. Easy chords stabs!

Ping and Ring

CUNSA is ideal for percussive and organic tones. The Ping circuit offers a behavior similar to the BRENSO but AC-coupled. Instead of shooting the frequency to the moon with any trig, CUNSA gently responds to different incoming gates with a selectable decay curve. The Ping circuit can thus create natural decay sounds when fed with trigs or smoother envelopes with any other voltage, like a linear integrator with a custom decay.

Besides this, you can also feed the filter's audio input with trigs and make it ring at high Q settings.

Linked or Individual Filtering

The four filters can work independently or arranged in groups through seminormalled inputs and sum outputs. CUNSA can thus be a 4×1, 2×2, or a massive 1×4 filter. Even odd configurations are possible, like 1+2+1 or 3+1. Mono, stereo, or quadraphonic audio is at your fingertips.

Filter and Combo Behaviour

When the filter behavior is set to COMBINED, every control of the cutoff frequency also affects the input VCA, reducing the signal amplitude and saturation as it approaches the lowest range. It can make organic decays with the ping circuit or tame the low range at high Q and Character settings.

Four Seminormalizations for Group Use

Four inputs have a cascaded seminormalization: audio inputs, VCA CV, V/oct, and Ping. Every signal patched to a filter will thus feed also those at its right, making simultaneous use even simpler. To remove a seminormalization, simply patch a dummy cable to the corresponding input.

Analog Mixing Stage and Group Outputs

Every filter output can be routed to an analogue mix bus that sums the four filters and outputs them in three combinations: all, 1+2, and 3+4. These outputs allow for versatile audio processing. Just like we did with FUMANA, we added a gentle shelving EQ for the higher frequencies of the All output to provide additional timbral variety.

CV Inputs with Attenuators

Besides the seminormalled inputs, every filter features additional CV inputs for cutoff frequency, Q, and Character, each with a dedicated attenuverter.

Drezno II is an improved version of the original Drezno module. It is an essential member of the 8-bit Xaoc Devices Leibniz Binary Subsystem. The Leibniz subsystem is a family of modules that operate on 8 binary (two-state, on/off) signals. These signals are arranged as 8 bits of digital data and may represent analogue signals and voltages, or they may be whatever you want them to be (clocks, gates, rhythms, etc.).

Drezno features an ADC (analogue-to-digital-converter) and DAC (digital-to-analogue-converter), allowing it to act as an analog front-end of the system. In other words, Drezno allows one to convert analogue signals and CVs into digital numbers, as well as to obtain analogue signals back from some other digital numbers (or 8 binary signals). Between these two conversions there is a whole universe of digital shenanigans waiting to happen resulting in all kinds of signal transformations and modulations.

Both (ADC and DAC) sections of Drezno can work independently, or they can be linked. Input and output range of analogue signals may be adjusted using Gain and Offset sliders. Individual bit outputs (for the ADC) and inputs (DAC) allow for extensive cross-patching and the creation of complex waveforms and rhythms. A very fast clock (up to 2MHz) at which the conversions are performed may be replaced with any external clock (for each section separately).

Compared to its predecessor, Drezno II uses new converters of much higher resolution which results in much lower noise floor and higher accuracy. The lower bits are much more stable than before. It is easy now to use Drezno for quantizing pitch voltages with accurate results with 128 or 256 semitone steps. Potentiometer ranges are factory calibrated for precise chromatic scale. A new switch on the front panel allows the user to select the calibrated range of 10Vpp or 20Vpp, so that the lowest bit or the second bit correspond to 1 semitone.

Ricochet is a compact, fully analogue module featuring four interconnected decay envelopes, each with its own VCA and an integrated noise generator.

The module's design is inspired by the way skipping stones bounce on the water, creating a versatile tool for crafting percussive sounds.

The exponential envelopes are specifically designed to generate dynamic percussive tones. The unique linking function connects the end of one envelope's decay to the trigger of the next, enabling the subsequent envelope to activate once the previous one ends. This innovative feature allows you to create ratcheted envelope.

A front-panel trimmer lets you adjust the threshold for triggering subsequent envelopes, while a rear header enables connecting two Ricochet modules together, or linking the last envelope to the first. This feature transform the Ricochet to a weird sequencer where the steps length depend of the decay times.

Since Ricochet is fully analogic, trig inputs are velocity-sensitive, responding to a standard gates but also allowing attenuation to modify the envelope's velocity (you can play with the dynamic of your sound by attenuating the trigg input. Ricochet is also perfect to play with drum pads).

Notes: An ultra-compact 10HP VC filter with bags of personality. Camber can be treated as a subtle, non-intrusive sound design tool, or something much more lively.

Camber is designed to be a fun, tactile filter with a small footprint. It's sound is neutral enough for basic filtering without a fuss, with a much more aggressive tone available using high resonance settings in three-pole mode.

Filter Core

The core of the filter is based on a state variable topology using 2164 VCAs and 1% tolerance integrating capacitors. Resonance and feedback control is provided by the fantastic circuit design originally by Neil Johnson "Voltage Controlled 3-Pole State Variable Filter" recently made available in Sound Semiconductor documentation.

Operation

Camber is switchable between low pass and high pass responses with one pole (6dB) and three pole (18dB) flavours of each. It has full CV control of both cutoff frequency and resonance amount. The input is DC-coupled allowing LFO and CV signals to be routed through the filter. The filter will also act as a simple oscillator producing a clean sinusoidal signal with the resonance control turned *almost fully clockwise, and no signal at the audio input. Dialling in the resonance so that it is just under the point of self-oscillation allows the filter to be "Pinged" by sending gate signals to the audio input. This is useful for tuned percussion sounds and FX.

Perform a variety of mixing and sound design duties ranging from subtle brightness and clarity adjustments to low-end rumble removal, boosted low-pass filtering and sweep EQ.

In the default tilt mode, turning the control knob clockwise simultaneously boosts treble and cuts bass. Turning anti-clockwise boosts bass and cuts treble. These boosts and cuts are pivoted around the mid-range. With the control knob at 12 o'clock the frequency response is neutral.

With Baxandall high-shelf mode enabled, turning the control knob clockwise past 12 o'clock introduces and gentle high-shelf EQ weighted around the upper mid-range. Turning the control knob anti-clockwise results in a wide high-shelf cut with subtle bass and mid-range adjustments.

Patching the channels in series allows for radical sound shaping and band-pass responses. Each channel provides up to +/- 8db of low and high-frequency gain control, summing into a low noise output stage. Hot input signals over 15vpp are saturated by active Zener diode clipping.

The Furthrrrr Generator has a main oscillator (carrier) with an extensive and fully voltage controllable wave multiplier and a modulation oscillator (modulator) that can cross-modulate the carrier. Each oscillator has hard and soft sync and also features an integrated tuner: if both LEDs are lit the VCO is at note A. Left LED is lit at note Ab and right LED at A#. Frequency potentiometers are ten-turn models and thus allow for easy tuning. Frequency range of the VCOs is 10Hz-10kHz (and much lower in modulator's LFO mode). Both VCOs feature 2 frequency CV inputs (1x with bipolar attenuator, 1x with 1V/octave), one FM input (jumper selectable between linear and exponential FM) as well as separate input for hard and soft sync. The voltage characteristic can be selected between 1V/octave and 1.2V/octave (Buchla norm).

The main oscillator (carrier) outputs the waveforms sine, saw, square and white noise. The two outputs marked with the magic eye are outputs of the "harmonic section" that generates very complex sounds by the wave multiplier and its parameters symmetry, order and Furthrrrr in the module's right-hand section. Symmetry lowers the level of even harmonics and amplifies the odd harmonics (this affects the pulse wave's width as well). Order adds saturation to the high order harmonics and resembles a low pass filter. Furthrrrr alters the level of harmonics set by the other parameters and produces very interesting, partly brute sounds with lots of harmonics by clipping and folding the wave. All three parameters can be voltage controlled. The carrier oscillator also has inputs for hard and soft sync, the sync-switch can synch directly to the modulator.

The modulation oscillator (modulator) has three wave forms with direct outputs: sine, saw and square. Using the internal modulation via the "mood section" the waveform is selected with a button; an additional staircase wave form is available here, but it can be overridden by inserting a signal into the external input socket. A switch activates the LFO mode.

The Mood section is responsible for the internal modulation of the carrier by the modulator. Switches determine the modulation destination(s) that can be activated simultaneously. These are the Furthrrrr parameter of the harmonic section, the amplitude and the frequency of the carrier oscillator. The "balanced" switch activates the ring modulation between both VCOs. intensity of modulation is controlled by the "mood index" potentiometer and the according CV input with bipolar attenuator.

The Grainity brings a unique and never-heard-before concept to the world of analogue VCF.

While being based on analogue filtering only, the Grainity expands and enriches the sound in creating subharmonics, harmonies, unison, flanging effects and formant filtering all at once.

The module presents two sections, the granular filter itself and a typical multimode filter, each with its own output.

A third output offers a mix of both filter paths. Numerous controls and CV allow a very wide palette of results.

What is the Grainity

Granular?

The word granular was chosen for this filter module in relation to the concept invented by the composer Yannis Xenakis, and which is described as assembling small chops of sounds - he called grains - according to a pattern.

This is exactly what the Grainity does, no more no less ... but, digital control allows doing it in ways that are decades away from what tape and scissors allowed at the time.

Technology wise ...

In the granular section, the incoming sound cycle is determined in order to step through various filtering and phase variations of itself according to predefined patterns called structures.

The controls allow alterations to the cycling phase, cycling frequency offset (tuning), structure selection and frequency division of the filters cycling. This comes in addition to the usual filter frequency and resonance controls.

What the Grainity is not

Technology wise ...

Despite relying on a microprocessor, the Grainity is not a digital audio processor. At any time, the sound remains in the analogue domain and goes through analogue circuits from in to out.

The digital processor does not convert or generate audio signals; it is there to control the analogue circuitry and manage the interface and display.

Sound wise ...

Several digital modules offering granular processing rely on the layering of sound grains, which leads to blurry and cloudy textures.

Layering of the grains is a late addition to the concept of granular synthesis and is not a mandatory feature of the concept.

The Grainity does not use delay lines or sampling memory but is nevertheless true to the foundations of the granular synthesis concept.

The granular VCF in the Grainity is unconventional in that, most of times, it is not filtering the sound in the common expectation of removing something. Typically, the granular process adds more than it removes by expanding both the lower range, creating subharmonics, and the upper harmonic contents in multiples ways.

Notes: The Man-Machine Interface, or MMI, is a passive touch and pressure sensitive controller which allows the user to direct CV and audio signals at will. The MMI consists of three input/output jacks, and five body contact surfaces in glorious gold.

The zig-zag body contacts correspond to the input/output jacks, with the top zig-zag connecting to the top jack, the middle zig-zag connecting to the middle jack, and the lower zig-zag connecting to the lower jack. The spiral patterns in between the zig-zags are comprised of the two adjacent jacks, so the upper spiral is comprised of the upper and middle jack, while the lower spiral is comprised of the middle and lower jack.

In order to operate the MMI, the user can touch any two points with their fingers, patch cables, a piece of fruit or vegetable, or any other conductive substance or object, in order to complete the connection. The degree of contact made with the MMI, and the resistance of the object completing the circuit, will determine the output that is sent along the circuit. For instance, if a user were to patch a VCO into the top jack, and patch the MMI into a filter in the middle jack, the VCO will be sent to the filter when the topmost zig-zag and lower zig-zag are connected by two fingers, for instance.

But how about the spirals? The spirals offer a way to make a connection with one finger. Using the example from before, the connection will instantly complete when the user touches the upper spiral pattern. Using this principle, it becomes possible to use the MMI in unusual and interesting ways, such as a rudimentary keyboard, a drum controller, a switch and any other number of weird and exciting purposes.

It is also possible to combine several MMI - using two different MMI, it is possible to reach across one zig-zag to another zig-zag, in order to make a different connection, or to place a particularly long vegetable across all the contacts just to see what will happen. The MMI is an unusual patching system for the experimental musician, and lends itself well to all manner of experimentation and weird instruments.

The MMI can bleed a tiny bit of signal when using sharp VCO waves like square waves, while other sounds like sine waves will have softer responses. This can easily be corrected with amplification or attenuation as needed.

The MMI takes up 4HP and is skiff friendly, and is also suitable for installing in external boxes as a passive control unit. You can combine any number of MMI to create increasingly complex keyboard-like arrangements, drum pad matrixes or advanced switch systems.

Torus is an overdub looper for harmonic playback. It offers four, 16-step pattern banks for sequencing as well as other sample manipulation techniques. It was designed to bring daw recording workflows (sample reversing, pitch shifting, sequencing, etc.) to eurorack cases.

Inputs:

A, B, C, D - buttons for choosing the current pattern. When combined with chain, these buttons can be used to sequence a pattern chain. Individual chains can be support 16 steps and are kept in sync with torus's global clock.

Chain - button for chaining behaviours. Chain + A, B, C, D can be used to sequence a pattern chain. Chain + record can be used to record multiple patterns in series and then chain playback. Chain + clear can be used to clear all recorded patterns. Chain + tap can be used to reset the current pattern when it contains recordings.

Mix - knob and CV used to blend between the input signal and the recorded pattern.

Record - button and gate in for turning on and off recording. When a pattern is not recorded, record will turn on and in sync with the clock. When a pattern is recorded, record will immediately turn on and off overdubbing.

Oct - buttons for octave shifting pattern buffer playback. Oct buttons can be used to clock divide/multiply an input clock signal.

Reverse - button and gate in for reversing buffer playback.

Harm - knob and CV for choosing harmonic pattern playback speeds. Playback speeds include both integer clock multipliers and perfect intervals.

Tap - button for tapping in tempos for the internal clock. Tap will repeat the current note when the current pattern contains recordings. Combine with chain to reset the entire pattern when the current pattern contains recordings.

Clear - button and gate in for clearing the current pattern. Combine with chain to clear all recorded patterns.

Clock - gate in for clock syncing

In L and in R - audio input, left will be converted to stereo if there is no right input.

Outputs:

Harm out - gate output mapping to harmonic playback resets. This gate output will range from 1-16x the clock out frequency depending on the harm knob/CV value.

Clock out - gate output for the global clock. The output gate frequency will be 0.25-4x the input clock speed based on the oct button state.

Reset - gate output when the current pattern has reset.

Notes: Dizygote is an A-side/B-side digital oscillator with a built-in envelope generator. The A-side builds harmonies with a square waveform and frequency modulation. the b-side distorts a sine waveform with phase modulation.

Notes: Monolith is a pitch-shifter reverb inspired by west coast synthesis techniques. It utilizes a time-domain based FM algorithm that acts as a shimmer.

Shape - knob and CV for controlling FM modulator oscillator shape. Shape wavetable transitions from sine wave (8 o'clock) to triangle wave (12 o'clock) to square wave (4 o'clock).

A-138s is a simple but useful 4-in-2 mixing tool. It has four inputs available. Each input is equipped with an attenuator (Level) and a panning control that is used to distribute the signal to the left and right output. Beyond stereo mixing it is equally suited to create variable parallel routings. For example: Any of the four inputs may be routed in variable intensity to feed two filters.

You may regard the A-138s as a smaller version of the A-138m Matrix Mixer.

Inputs and outputs are DC coupled, i.e. the module can be used for the mixing of control signals too.

Erica Synths Modulator is an advanced modulation and pitched noise source with focus on rhythmic (but not limited to) compositions in mind. It features two identical syncable to the BPM LFOs/noise sources with selectable morphing waveshapes. The Expandoor gets you quickly and simply using AMP's Melody Oracle, Star Song, or Touch Tones (as well as other possible future devices) as a CV and Gate controller. It outputs Eurorack-compatible CV and GATE signals, transforming your AMP device into a versatile and novel modular synth sequencer or controller. The Expandoor can be used as a standalone tabletop box, or mounted in a 3U 10HP rack space.

Three independent GATE outputs:

Just as the three "Register" zones on your AMP device gate the audio for the three octaves of the built-in synthesizer, there are three corresponding gate outputs on the Expandoor. The 1/8" jacks labelled "BS" "LH" and "RH" output ~11V DC gate signals whenever those zones are gating "ON" on your AMP device.

CV output, tuners and LED indicators:

The jack labelled "CV" outputs a tuned set of CV values (0-11V), tuned independently but correspondingly, to the set of tuners on your AMP device. The row of multi-turn tuners on the front panel allow fine tuning of each CV state. One tuner is active at a time, depending on the state of the "INTERVAL" zones on your AMP device. The active tuner is conveniently indicated in real time via lights found to the right of the tuners. The indicator lights serve a second function of showing you which tuner on the controlling AMP device is also active in parallel.

AMP LINK jacks

The AMP LINK jack on the bottom left of the front panel (with the arrow pointing IN) connects your controlling AMP device into the EXPANDOOR. Use only shielded CAT 5 or CAT 6 cables and connectors (the correct cables will have metal end connectors). The AMP LINK jack on the right outputs a signal identical to the input, allowing chaining of multiple Expandoors and/or Wave Expanders. Do not plug more than one AMP controlling device into a single Expandoor simultaneously, or damage to the devices could occur.

Each controlling device requires its own Expandoor or Wave Exapnder, but multiple expansion modules can be chained from one controlling device. One potential benefit to chaining expansion modules is the ability to output multiple tuned, corresponding but independent, CV channels. Meaning multiple sets of harmonic values could be tuned and accessed at the command of the single controlling AMP device, or accessed via other modules in your system.

Designed to integrate sound sources from outside Eurorack, Verbos's Real World Interface offers three channels including built-in microphones, preamps, envelope followers and a frequency detector.

The Real World Interface is a 3-channel external processing module intended for connecting with sound sources outside the system. The channels are oriented as vertical channel strips. The left and right channels have a built-in condenser microphone, preamp, envelope follower with variable decay and gate extractor. The Mod FM is a completely self-contained 8 voice FM synth in eurorack format, which can create powerful sounds out of the box without lacking the commonly provided CV modulation possibilities.

It provides 4 Operators and 2 LFOs/VCOs per voice. Additionally it has 2 analogue filters and analogue VCAs per voice which apply analogue warmth and depth to the Mod FM, although the FM engine is digital of course.

Each voice has own CV/Gate inputs and an individual output. There is a mix output which separates even and odd voices. Here you can mix internal effects like delay and reverb to the stereo output signal.

Next to the CV/Gate control, the Mod FM has Midi in and out in TRS type A format and a USB C connector which handles Midi too.

Even without diving too much into complicated modular setups you can create extremely good sounding and metallic FM sounds, snappy bases but also soft and deep sounding analogue style sounds.

Furthermore, the Mod FM offers a variety of external cv modulations in order to e.g. modulate each operator individually or control the FM envelopes.

The Mod FM is fully multitimbral, i.e. each voice can play an own sound in Multi Mode which gets stored as a complete multi set (not only vectorized). That is, you can copy a single sound to the desired multi, but editings made on that particular multi get stored along with the multi set.

Hence, we have the biggest advantage of the hybrid approach:

Modular is great but can be very complex, and you might be trapped in a system where you never reach again the desired sound of the latest session. Storability certainly helps.

The different sections in more detail:

Matrix FM:

4 operators are arranged in a matrix, in which every operator (= sine oscillator) can be modulated by each one of the other three.

The 16 endless potentiometers of the matrix adjust the modulation amount (FM amt) and the base frequency of the operators.

For each operator you can change the base frequency by the diagonal knobs.

There are several overtone modes that determine if one operator is controlled by the keynote (or CV) = base operator, or if it's locked in as overtone (= overtone operator) to the assigned base operator. For the base operator, the number resembles xxx semitones added to the keynote.

For the overtone operator, the adjusted number is the xxx = Nth overtone or harmonics to the base operator frequency.

The locked overtone operator tracks the base operator and is still able to modulate and being modulated.

Each operator has an ADSR envelope. This envelope can also be used to frequency-modulate the operator.

Algorithm:

The algorithms from the known FM synthesis are actually special cases to the whole matrix.

Because it gets pretty quickly uncontrollable if you turn all the knobs because of the feedbacks, Jomox have decided to implement the algorithms. There are 26 algorithms, that are derived from the DX9 with its 4 operators.

At this menu it's even possible to change the frequency mode of each operator to a fixed frequency that is edited in single Hz and which does not follow the keynote, but only modulation. That makes sense for e.g. percussive sounds.

LFO/VCO:

Each voice has 2 LFOs which can modulate either the frequency (FM) or the amplitude (AM) of an operator. Every LFO addresses 64 different wave forms that are displayed in the right OLED display.

There is another feature: each LFO can be switched into a VCO that covers the whole audio range. You can even mix it into the signal chain and it tracks to the keynote. The former LFO rate parameter turns into a detune parameter. That is, you can create classic sounding rectangle/sawtooth analogue basses or string pads - and much more of course.

Filter:

Each voice contains an analogue filter which is build up with the chip SSI2140 from Sound Semiconductor, which is an improved modern version of the old SSM2040, designed by Dave Rossum, and which had been used in Oberheim synths and the early SCI Prophet-5.

The filter has a classic 24dB output and a 12dB state-variable multimode-filter. The three basic characteristic outputs LP/BP/HP can be cross-faded continuously with one parameter called shape.

Both filter outputs 24dB/12dB can be mixed independently.

The ADSR for the filter is fast and cuts in very quick and directly, the resonance is well adjustable.

The filter section contains an own LFO for the cutoff which is independent from the digital sound engine and has also 64 waveforms.

The VCA is a fast transistor-VCA which is important for snappy sounds. The same transistor-VCA is used in all Jomox drum products. Therefore the ModFM can be used as a rich source for technoid drums and percussions of any kind.

Notes: The DIODEFILTER is an adaption of the well-known diode ladder filter that became most popular by Roland's TB-303 bassline. And here it is for the AE modular!

Notes: DRONX is a special mixer designed especially for the DRONE38 module; if has 6 input channels (so you can connect two DRONE38 modules) and offers some sound processing capabilities: A tone control with bass and treble control, a distortion, and finally a dual delay with different algorithms. Two insert points allow to add up to two more audio effects to the internal signal chain. Together with the DRONE38 module(s) you get a quite nice drone synth for dense, dark soundscapes.

Of course, it can be used with any other sound sources!

Notes: The module was named Kuzmin Filter in the past as a tribute to the developer of the Polivoks, Vladimir Kuzmin. For certain reasons, the module will now be called GRUNGE Filter (due to the sound), with the circuitry remaining unchanged.

The Polivoks was a Russian synth that was produced between 1982 and 1990.This module is the AE version of the filter that gave the Polivoks a unique, rough sound.

Beyond the basic design, this filter offers some additional features:

Two different resonance characteristics, hard and soft
An FM function, that adds the input signal to the modulation of the filter
An optional overdrive for the output, making the sound even more rough and untamed.

Notes: Unique, vintage reverb sound.

The SPRINGREVERB module brings the unique sound of this quite old (introduced in the 60's) technique for creating reverbs to the AE modular.

The reverb works by sending the audio signal to a set of 3 springs; at the other end of the springs the sound is picked up by a transducer, converting the mechanical movement of the springs back into an electrical signal. When the audio signal arrives at the end of the springs, the waves are reflected several times; these reflections create the reverb sound.

The spring "tank" (a metal box containing the springs and transducers, size approx. 24 x 9 x 3.5 cm) is connected externally by a cable.

The product contains all components: The module itself, the spring tank and the connection cable.

Note: The sound of a spring reverb is quite unique and has a strong vintage character; if you are looking for a more "clean", natural sounding reverb please take a look at the MULTIFX module.

Notes: With the STOMP-IO module, you can integrate guitar effect pedals and similar devices into your AE modular system! For output (send) and input (return) return there is a mono minijack socket; two minijack to 1/4" socket adapters are included as effect pedals usually work with the latter ones. Send and return levels can be controlled with separate knobs.

Notes: XMIX is a swiss knife for signal mixing and attenuating, offering four(!) mixers and two attenuators in a 1U module. It is designed especially with very small AE systems in mind.

Notes: The updated "Skiff friendly" design of the mml filter now features bipolar "Attenu-verters" for the cv controls as well as an all new red mode!

This new mode activates a feedback distortion circuit capable of actually changing the pitch of the notes coming in to the filter in a musical way that adds instant variety to acid basslines, creates weird and strange alterations to drones or adds some nice overdriven distortion to whatever goes into it!

The multi-mode ladder (mml) filter is based on the classic transistor ladder low pass filter by dr. Robert a. Moog. This filter updates the classic 4-pole ladder design to provide band pass and high pass filter responses as well as the traditional low pass filter. There are 2 bipolar controls with attenu-verters for the cut-off frequency plus a cv input for the resonance.

The core of the circuit features a fully discrete transistor design with an op-amp buffered output, this allows soft saturation of the input signal to get the classic overdriven tones of the ladder filter. A bass compensation circuit has been included to retain the bass response in low pass mode when the resonance is increased. The bass compensation also helps to improve the response of the high pass filter.

The red mode is activated/de-activated by holding the mode button for 0.3s. In this mode the filter cut-off, input volume and resonance all interact and the effect is to produce alterations to the incoming frequencies. The pitches of the audio coming into the filter also affect the alterations as well selecting between low pass, band pass and high pass filter modes whilst in red mode.

Notes: Drums4 is a 4 voice, sample based percussion sound generator.

Each voice can select its sound from a 48 sample global bank, samples are curated from the manufacturer's collection of percussion sources used in their music.

Each sample can be tuned and has an individual output for independent processing , and there's also a simple mixer that controls levels to the main mixed output.

Operation is simple and intuitive, the selected sample is remembered after power down for each of the 4 voices.

Incoming triggers are displayed on each voice LED indicator.

R2C is module 2 of a pair of two 2 HP modules that allow you to connect a chain of controllers to your DROID master through a standard 3.5 mm stereo cable (sometimes also called aux-cable).

The usual idea is that you put all your DROID controllers into a skiff case and mount your DROID master, X7 and G8 into another case, together with all your fancy Eurorack sound modules.

While you could do this with the typical 6-pin ribbon connector (e.g. the 80 cm version that we offer), using the R2M/R2C combination has some serious advantages:

The connection cable can be almost arbitrary long (20 m have been tested and works perfectly).

Since the connection is done on the front of the modules, you can quickly disconnect your skiff for the purpose of travelling to a gig.

You can use a standard 3.5 mm stereo TRS cable for the connection.

These modules are not just passive connectors but contain special driver ICs that transform the electronic voltage levels, which run in the 6-pin ribbon, to something more stable and reliable that is fit for longer distances in a more hostile environment.

The controllers do not receive their power from the master but from the R2C module, which has a power connector and a voltage regulator for that purpose. Each chain of the R2C module provides the same power to its controller chain as the master does (it contains the identical voltage regulator). That means that you can connect up to 32 controllers (!) to one R2C.

Another nice thing: The R2M/R2C combination allows for two of these master / controller connections in parallel. That means that you can have two masters being attached to their individual controller chains. That does not mean, that each of the masters can access each of the controllers at the same time, however. Both master / controller connections work completely separately.

Notes: The Airlectron Sensor Recorder module is equipped with a sunlight independent distance sensor to generate CV output voltages.

A distance sensor reacts to hand movements and varies the CV output voltages (bipolar/max +/- 5 V, unipolar/max 0-+10 V). The range control adjusts the detection distance (2-50 cm). The freeze function keeps the voltage when there is no continuous movement.

The recorder/looper can be used to record motion sequences for up to two minutes. This recorded data can be played back in a loop or once and restarted at the START/RESET input. LEDs indicate the status of the gate inputs and outputs.

Up to eight voices of digitally synthesised drums, percussion and synth sounds from this versatile module, featuring virtual analogue models as well as FM and wavetable options.

Flame "Fire" percussion synth module

The module is a full 8-way polyphonic drum and percussion synthesizer. It offers different digital synthesis algorithms, which can be distributed over 8 channels. The sound engine delivers virtual analog sounds as well as different digital percussion sounds, which are generated with FM, wavetable or virtual analog synthesis. It is also possible to create sim- ple monophonic bass or synthesizer voices.

During development, particular attention was paid to direct and simple usability with regard to live operation. The hardware essentially consists of two parts (which are deli- vered together). On the one hand there is the basic module with all controls, the display, connections for MIDI, 2x CV inputs and 5 audio outputs.

There is also a separate XFIRE I/O extension with sockets for the 16 analog trigger/gate/CV inputs and 3 additional audio outputs. Both modules are connected via a 60cm long ribbon cable. In this way, the XFIRE module can be installed anywhere else in the rack. The base module is therefore only 22TE wide and can also work alone without the extension as a MIDI expander.

A maximum of 8 audio outputs are available. A stereo pair (outputs 7+8), plus 6 additio- nal individual direct outputs. All outputs are freely configurable. Two pages with settings for panorama and volume are available for the stereo main out.

There is a gate/trigger input and a configurable CV input for each channel. Two additio- nal programmable CV inputs can be used for further controls. Regardless of the analog connection, the module offers full MIDI functionality. Two MIDI inputs and a MIDI output/softthru allow integration into an external MIDI setup. The firmware can be upda- ted via MIDI Sysex. The created KIT data can also be saved or exchanged.
