Review: Inaugurating the Kingdoms imprint in 2017 was the new project by Francis Harris (ex Scissor & Thread) and Gabe Hendrick named Aris Kindt, with their rather impressive Swann & Odette LP. Next up on New York City based imprint are the duo of Brandon Wolcott and Emil Ambrayan - who first came to prominence on Nicolas Jaar's Clown & Sunset label in 2012. Both having a history in theatre, sound design and classical composition, Wolcott and Abramyan create experimental electronic music via a diverse tapestry of sound that avoids strict genre pigeonholing. The music is performed completely live with Wolcott on electronics and Abramyan on cello. Wolcott is a Brooklyn based artist that has released music on Wolf + Lamb, Archipel Records and Jaar's sublabel Other People as well performing in his 'dance-music' project Smirk. Contained on this LP are some lush and evocative modern classical compositions that will certainly appeal to fans of Olafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm or Peter Broderick.
