Fresh from delivering the inaugural release on the after-hours-focused Phonia AM imprint, publicity-shy twosome Voodoos & Taboos returns to their own self-titled imprint with another set of hard-to-pigeonhole peak-time workouts. They begin with 'That's The Way It Is', a throbbing fusion of muscular electronic disco and wayward acid house, before reaching for clonking motifs, heavy analogue bass and smooth techno drums on 'Capsule For Sale'. 'Requiem For a Trip' joins the dots between psychedelic techno and mind-altering neo-trance; 'No Deposit No Return' is an acid-flecked, pitched-down delight; and 'Can Anyone Explain' is a pleasingly spacey and far-sighted bleep & breaks roller. Early morning magic!
