There's no denying that Dubnobasswithmyheadman was a landmark electronic album. It marked Underworld's progression from electro-pop also-rans to festival headling techno titans, thanks in no small part to the addition of DJ/producer Darren Emerson to the line-up. This 20th anniversary box set gives the album the treatment it deserves, with a fully re-mastered version of the album being joined by four bonus CDs. While two of these discs feature previously heard material - one disc of singles from the period, another of lesser-known remixes - the other two are of more historical interest. Disc four is particularly illuminating, boasting as it does a swathe of unreleased recordings and demos from the period (including early versions of "Dark & Long" and "Mmm Skyscraper I Love You"), while the final disc presents a live rehearsal recorded in the band's home studio in 1993.
