Portugal's Bruno Deodato aka Trekk has all the characteristics of a truly fine electronic musician. Aside from having a surname that's recognised all over the music scene, the man is capable of producing more than one genre. Predictably, he's released EPs for some of the hottest names out there, and this new single marks his return to the excellent Innervisions stable. Coming through as a tasty 2 x 12" by the name of Mundo Ritual, Deodato's harmonies are sparse and explorative, at times verging on the free-jazz end of the spectrum. Now, we're not claiming this is anything like an OTO ROKU release, but there is a vivid freedom within the man's electronic constructions, a selection of curious grooves which somehow manage to find their respective shapes amid the chaos that encircles them. A fantastic effort from this exciting producer.
