If you don't know the story of Sweet allow us to fill in the blanks. The British rockers achieved plenty of success in the early 1970s, with singles and albums selling well and resulting tours packing them in. Over the course of the decade, as with many outfits, things gradually grew tougher and ever rockier, in keeping with the change of the times themselves. And they pulled that change off well, as the LP Level Headed proved.
Released in 1977, it would garner widespread acclaim and be the last to feature the 'classic' four piece as was. This release is taken from that time, and features - as the title suggests - outtakes from the rehearsals undertaken prior to heading out on the road. Recorded at Shepperton Studios, it's a time capsule for a moment in the lifespan of an act that deserve more recognition today than they often get.
