In the early 1980s, Richie Weeks' band The Jammers - whose members also included Jocelyn Brown - produced some of the slickest, funkiest electrofunk and boogie jams that Salsoul Records ever released. They also delivered one album - 1982's Shep Pettibone mixed "The Jammers" - which here gets the expanded reissue treatment courtesy of Chicago imprint Past Due. It boasts a string of essential, synth-powered dancefloor anthems - "Be Mine Tonight", "And You Know That" and "Just For You", the latter two represented by both album and 12" mixes- as well as a string of equally impressive and funky cuts that have arguably been overlooked over the years ("Out To Get You", 'Funky You, Funky Me"). In other words, it's one of the strongest electrofunk full-lengths of all time.
