Part One. Terre is of course the guy who's been through more personas than Doctor Who, and here we think he might have found his Tom Baker. Preposterously good house records like these two don't come along very often and to have four sides of material this high quality, and from a most unexpected and dare we say it unlikely source, pretty well restores our ravaged and cynical sense of faith in the genre. Licensed from his own Comatonse recordings, its quite insane to read that these cuts were laid down nearly eight years ago - the first tracks on each side are versions of the "Theme For The Buck Rogers Light Rope Dance" - beautiful real piano, huge bass, congas galore, the inside tunes version "Sloppy 42nds" is a tribute to the transsexual clubs destroyed by Walt Disney's Buyout of Times Square - gulp, but they don't half funk it up. One of the most surprising records this year. Part Two. These records on Japan's Mule Electronic seem to have arrived almost from outer space - no doubt the pairing of Terre and Mule has come about off the back of his bimonthly residency at Club module in Tokyo, that and calling Kawasaki in Japan his home currently.
