Amsterdam based Lullabies For Insomniacs return with more rare oddities, but surprisingly not a reissue this time. Hailing from Baltimore, PJ Dorsey has embarked on a lifelong journey delving into psychoactive music and harnessing those experiences as Tarotplane. Using guitar and effects, he produces time suspending soundscapes - immersive music for merging the mind and body. 358 Oblique is the follow up to the First LP, which was released on Aguirre Records in 2015. A side offering "A Tab In The Ozone" is a lush and ethereal journey piece, awash in celestial soundscapes and a textured sample collage. B side offering "A Polaroid Sunset" treads a much darker path for the most part, sounding like early Lustmord but around the halfway mark lightens up for something more optimistic and evocative - signalled by Dorsey's shimmering guitar work. In depth listening.
