Portland meets Bristol on the latest Idle Hands release as Strategy adds to his respectable discography with Return From The Stars which features a blinding remix from that man Pev. Take a glance at the labels Strategy has released on and you can't fail to be impressed with albums on Kranky and Peak Oil complemented by 12" transmissions for 100% Silk and Endless Flight. The penchant for melding hardware house music with dubbier textures on recent material is definitely in effect here with "Return From The Stars" sounding like an outsider's take on Bristol's rich soundsystem culture. Ably backing it up is Pev's self styled "Jerky" remix which strips the original down to its bare essentials; its radiophonic gurgles and elongated reverb trails sounds closer to his classic dub-influenced Punch Drunk tracks 12?s than his recent Livity Sound output.
