Steve Rachmad aka the Dutch father of Detroit techno makes his first vinyl shaped appearance of the year on the Wolfskuil imprint overseen by compatriot Darko Esser - delivering some decidedly alien sounds on Fruit Of The Room. Stripped back in its approach, the title tracks commences with an outer galactic analogue rhythm wrapped around tightly wound bass drums and grows with crunching percussive finesse before dropping into the rubbery excellence of the bassline. What really impresses is the way the drum patterns switch up with machine driven precision. The flipside "Flute Of The Loom" builds from a droney analogue pulse into a skittering, main room mind alterer of the highest standard.
