|1.||"Lonely Wave" (6:09)|
Marginal Returns' second release presents another debut artist EP, this time bringing London's shadowy, Undersound-associated Sohrab into the light via a pleasing varied collection of club-ready cuts. Our pick of the bunch is the rubbery-and-ragged bump of "Lonely Wave", where razor sharp acid lines bubble away atop chunky synth bass and bustling hybrid electro/house beats. There's more house flavour on the "No Way Back" meets mid-90s NYC garage flex of "Conflict", while "Instrumentality" sounds like futurist Motor City techno with Chicago house beats. Finally, "Tweaker" sees him smother swinging two-step beats with starry electro and techno melodies.
