Is it the sweet, androgynous and adolescence tones of Bridie Monds-Watson vocals that make the music of SOAK so intriguing. Inside the record you'll find melancholic indie numbers (think something along the lines of Lykke Li and LadyHawke) in tracks like "Knock Me Off My Feet" to more mellow jazz tonics in "Fall Asleep/Backseat". Strongly supported by the Rough Trade empire, the Northern Irish musician's latest album sees her moving closer toward pop than heard before on her 2016 Mercury Prize nominated album: Before We Forgot How To Dream. With the album's intro setting something of a scene for the music, the album dips and dives through a collage of colours and sounds that makes Grim Town an album worth exploring and getting lost in.
