Following a year spent unfurling new material on their own Pen & Paper imprint, Session Victim returns to Delusions of Grandeur with another strong collection of cuts. The German duo first joins forces with Nebraska to layer a tough deep house beat with simmering strings and jammed-out electric piano lines ("Dawn"), before effortlessly joining the dots between deep house, dub house and hazy jazz-funk on "Taste of Life". Pal Iron Curtis lends a hand on the deliciously toasty and loved-up deep house shuffle of "Hear The Sun", while Sven Weisemann arguably steals the show with an ultra-deep, dubby, hypnotic and pleasingly melodious remix of title track "Dawn". It's such a good revision, in fact, that it's worth buying the EP just to have it in your collection.
