Fachwerk Records boss Mike Dehnert runs a tight ship: every release since 2007 has featured either his own productions or those of compatriots Sascha Rydell and Roman Lindau. As a result the label has built a signature sound based on intricately produced, no-nonsense techno, which is a tag that most certainly applies to this latest 12". A split release between Dehnert and Rydell, each producer is given a side of wax to call their own, with the latter opening proceedings with the heads down roller "SR". Mike's effort on the flip packs an immediately gratifying punch, with a heavily dubbed bassline making this an anthem in waiting for the more discerning techno dancefloors in Berlin and beyond. The spooky vocal snatches and late arrival of emotive chords only serves to confirm what everyone already knows: Dehnert knows his techno onions better than most.
