Lifted from his Animal album of last year, San Proper serves up a limited white label of "Auto Sea" through his regular home at Rush Hour. The original is a simmering beast, working around a subtle arpeggio and atmospheric scrapes for rhythm, of course with plenty of San Proper's off-beat vocals. The flip-side is given over to Proper's own "RVSP version" which gets well and truly stuck into a dubbed out version with a touch more beat for the floor and plenty of technoid hypnosis at work in that looping melodic phrase - might the RV stand for Ricardo Villalobos? It's a worthy one off twelve giving you a fresh perspective on a track that might otherwise have lingered unnoticed in amongst the album it came from.
