Dreams in Sepia is the first solo album from Sam McQueen, a Chicago resident and collaborator with the great Detroit musician John Beltran. It lands on a.r.t.less, Mojuba Records' sub-label, for the first time on vinyl having been put out as a CD in 2019. It is a record awash with nostalgic ambient, dreamy synthscapes and dancing synths that transport you to a place in the cosmos far, far away. There are the heavy, melancholic tunes like 'Wicker Park Sunrise' and the more impishly spirited dancing gems like 'Soulmate' but all come together to make for a coherent and absorbing listen.
