The Parisian label - which went on something of a hiatus in 2008 - is among the longest standing Gallic 'intelligent dance' labels, pushing out work from some of the country's most esteemed dignitaries (Lauren Garnier, Saint Etienne) during its lifetime.
Now approaching the 20th anniversary mark, it's only right that a few reissues should be coming our way, and Opack is as fitting as they are likely to get. Five tracks that span a huge spectrum of electronic beats, from the jazz drum 'n' bass opener 'Drum's Unlimited', to the electronic soul of 'Transcontinental' and the warm, deep house of 'Nice Walk'. More than enough evidence that dance labels don't have to be homogenous to be considered consistent.
