It's been three years since Washington DC's Aaron Leitko and Mike Petillo appeared on Future Times, the label the latter runs with Maxmillion Dunbar. Here they make something of a triumphant return to the imprint, delivering their debut album, Free USA. Shot through with the tropical melodies and vibrant synths that have become a hallmark of the label, the album presents their unique take on house - all loose, swinging analogue drum machine rhythms, dayglo chords and breezy, otherworldly ambience. Those who enjoyed recent long players from Maxmillion Dunbar and Beautiful Swimmers will love Free USA; it's very much cut from the same cloth.
