|2.||"New Wake Trace"|
Privacy makes his debut on the perma busy Lobster Theremin, and it's nothing short of a love letter to the 80s; robust analogue grooves, linear, minimal and synthetic to the very core. Each of the four tracks on Hypertext doffs its proverbial cap to a different corner of music's historical foundations and does it very well for a newcomer. "New Wake Trace" zips us to Belgium for some proto acid new beat, "Always On" is a gritty, fuzzy bouncing head nod to the darkest deltas Detroit while both "Chemical History" and "Endless Shallows" riff on the classic electro signatures, all crisp, icy and angular.
